Millions In U.S. Drink Contaminated Water, Records Show
Commented Dec 08, 2009 at 07:11:59 in Green
“The Centers for Disease Control reports that chemicals purposely added to water supplies are newly allowed to be even more contaminated than before to satisfy the growing demand for fluorosilicic acid the chemicals most used for fluoridation.
Lead, arsenic and mercury-laced fluorosilicic acid are added to water supplies in a failed effort to reduce tooth decay. See: http://www .nsf.org/b usiness/wa ter_distri bution/pdf /NSF_Fact_ Sheet.pdf
According to the CDC, a recent modification to the American Water Works Association Fluoride Standard B703-08 on fluorosilicic acid allows an increase in the color content of largely as a result of iodine content. (See www.cdc.go v/fluorida tion/pdf/f all2009_ne wsletter.d oc )
This will effectively increase iodine from 0.44 micrograms per liter to 0.72 mcg/L,
Fluoridation chemicals have never been safety tested in humans or animals. http://ntp .niehs.nih .gov/ntp/h tdocs/Chem _Backgroun d/ExSumPDF /Fluorosil icates.pdf.pdf
An easy way to clean up America's waterways overnight is to stop water fluoridation. Modern science shows that ingesting fluoride does not reduce tooth decay but does exposes the nation to fluoride's adverse effects. See http://www .FluorideA ction.Net/ health
EPA scientists also disagree with management, but are ignored, about the safety and efficacy of fluoridation.
Eleven unions representing 7,000 EPA scientists and health professionals want a fluoridation moratorium until it can be proven safe for everyone.

“When free dental clinics pop up both in rural and urban USA, the staggeringly long line of people showing up display oral health similar to that of third world countries.
People in America are dying from the consequences of untreated tooth decay. Our emergency rooms are inundated with people seeking critical dental care at taxpayers expense. This occurs because most dentists refuse to treat Medicaid patients (they prefer treating their drinking water with fluoride instead) And 130 Americans don't have dental insurance. US dental care is incredibly expensive.
There is a solution to America's oral health crisis - Dental Therapists (DTs). But organized dentistry got a seat at the table to create the new healthcare bill which disallows DTs from working in the United States because it will impinge on dentistry's lucrative monopoly.
The American Dental Association with its pockets filled with corporate cash is a major player in DC's healthcare decisions. The ADA is a dentists' union representing their best interests - not yours. Legislators rightfully believe the media won't notice that they are taking "bribes" from dentists to pass legislation to benefit dentists.
Dental Therapists are individuals trained to drill, fill and pull teeth as effectively as dentists and have worked for decades successfully in other first world countries. They work in areas and mouths where dentists refuse to go. The first ones are working very successfully in Alaska. But the ADA has it written into the new healthcare bill that DTs are banned in the US”

“Few people know, and still won't believe after reading this, that fluoride supplements given to children to prevent tooth decay have never been tested as such by the FDA. Fluoride is also an off-label drug. Sodium fluoride was on the market pre-1938 before safety and efficacy testing laws were enacted. However, pre-1938, sodium fluoride was sold only as a rat poison.
Modern science shows that fluoride supplements are ineffective at reducing tooth decay and greatly increase children's risk of discolored teeth. But they are still on the market - probably because fluoride is a drug and backed by hugely influential and rich drug companies.
However, Armour thyroid a natural remedy for hypothyroidism taken safely and effectively by millions of women for decades has been pulled off the market because it lacks the same research that's absent for fluoride. But Armour thyroid is natural and cheap and works but isn't backed by politically influential big pharma. I guess it's too bad for us that our FDA is totally corrupt.”

“It's should be criminal that California's cigarette taxes were given to an agency that squandered tens of millions of dollars promoting, lobbying and then paying for fluoride chemicals to be added to public water supplies. Fluoride chemicals are added ostensibly to reduce tooth decay; but the evidence shows it does not and is harmful to people's health.
The governor needs to make a law to get that money back and feed his constituents. An example of the massive costs of fluoridation come from New York Ctiy (where there are also needlessly hungry people if money wasn't spent to satisfied the politics of organized dentistry)
In 2008, New York City spent approximately $24 million on water fluoridation ($5 million on fluoride chemicals)(1a). In 2010, NYC’s fluoride chemicals will cost $9 million (1b).
Yet cavities are rampant in NY’s fluoridated populations (1c).

Autism Rates: Government Studies Find 1 in 100 Children Has Autism Disorders

“Please tell your legislators to stop adding fluoride chemicals into your public water supplies. Fluoride is not a nutrient, is not required for healthy teeth or necessary to purify the water as some mistakenly believe.
Fluoride has been shown to alter the brain chemistry. Of course, we have no evidence that fluoride is linked to autism; but do you really believe our government would fund such studies since government employees are hired to promote fluoridation (not to doubt it).
The fluoride that's added to public water supplies are silicofluorides which are industrial waste products that are allowed to contain trace amounts of lead, arsenic, mercury and other toxins unfiltered out before it's injected into your drinking water. Even if you all drink, cook and bathe with fluoride-filtered or bottled water, most foods you purchase contain fluoride because they are made in fluoridated areas or because fluoride-containing pesticide residues remain
After 60+ years of fluoridation tooth decay is rising along with fluoride overdose symptoms - dental fluorosis, white spotted, yellow, brown and/or pitted teeth.
Over 2,600 professionals urge the US Congress to stop water fluoridation until Congressional hearings are conducted, citing scientific evidence that fluoridation, long promoted to fight tooth decay, is ineffective and has serious health risks. See http://www .fluoridea ction.org/ statement. august.200 7.html.2007.html
This failed "public health" measure turned into a political boondoggle must stop. Even 11 unions representing 7000 EPA scientists and public health professionals reject fluoridation.

“Next water chemical investigated needs to be fluoride. EPA scientists back in the 1990's advised that the fluoride levels allowed in water supplies be lowered to be protective of health. Instead, it was raised to satisfy the American Dental Association and the corporations that benefit from fluoride getting a clean bill of health everywhere and anywhere.
When a whistle blower, William Marcus, revealed that a fluoride study had been tampered with to conceal that fluoride actually caused liver cancer in mice, he was fired, then rehired under the whiste blowers act. But fluoride remained innocent
To protect themselves, EPA scientists have expressed their opinion under the umbrellaw safety of their unions. 11 EPA unions making up 7,000 professionals at EPA Headquarters want fluoridation stopped because it can cause cancer.
The EPA hired the National Research Council to review studies to see if the maximum contaminant level of fluoride allowed in drinking water (4 mg/L) is protective of health. The NRC reported in 2006, that it is not.
EPA continues to ignore this report that they commissioned and even though they are way overdue on their mandated review of fluoride standards.
There's a lot to investigate at the EPA.”

“Science never supported fluoridation
Clever PR and appeal to authority coupled with commercial fluoride advertisements created unquestioning acceptance of fluoride.
Regardless of why fluoridation started, today it's promoted by organized dentistry, whose deep pockets filled with corporate cash from companies profiting from fluoride sales, look very appealing to legislators.
There is a U.S. dental crisis caused by lack of dental care. 80% of dentists refuse Medicaid patients and 130 million Americans lack dental insurance. Two children died in recent years from the consequences of UNtreated tooth decay.
The obvious solution: legislators should mandate dentists to treat more low-income people. But dentists don't like mandates - for themselves anyway. Instead, organized dentistry lobbies heavily and expensively for governments to mandate fluoridation - usually at the state level where they have more influence and where constituents have less power.
Fluoridation gives the illusion dentists care about low income Americans whom they won't actually allow in their dental chairs. All legislators see is the power and money behind the American Dental Association and all its constituent groups.
People need to organize, petition, call, email, write and visit their legislators and show up at city council meetings to get fluoridation stopped. Legislators like money from special interest groups but, without the support of the electorate, they will be out of a job - and they hate that even more.

Unemployment Rate In New York City Hits 9.3 Percent

“Yet, Bloomberg continues to spend $24 million a year adding unnecessary and harmful fluoride chemicals nto NYC's water supplies in a proven failed method to reduce tooth decay. New Yorkers desperately need dental care. But instead of ticking off organized dentistry and doing the logical thing - halting fluoridation, Bloomberg proposes to cut dental clinics saving only one tenth the cost of water fluoridation.
But there is no political group powerful enough to lobby against the dental clinic cuts. But the rich (with corporate cash) Dental Associations will scream if fluoridation gets cut. Fluoridation gives the illusion that dentistry cares about the low-income population they won't actually allow in their dental chairs. Only 25% of New York State Dentists accept Medicaid patients and millions don't have dental insurance - including most, if not all, of the newly unemployed.

“Jindal is no Obama. He's already shown his allegiance to special interest groups by signing a fluoridation mandate bill for Louisiana. Organized dentistry tried to get that bill passed for years; but this year they found a friend in the novice legislature and Governor Jindal who never sought out people who could show him how modern science indicates that adding fluoride chemicals into public water supplies to reduce tooth decay is ineffective, harmful to health and a waste of time and money.
Over 1,950 professionals signed a statement urging Congress to stop water fluoridation until Congressional hearings are conducted. . See statement: http://www .fluoridea ction.org/ statement. august.200 7.html
Jindal ignored requests by constituents to veto the unfunded fluoridation mandate bill. Many people would never vote for him. He is already kowtowing to his own money and political interests rather than what's in the best interest of his constituents.
Fifty-three cities rejected fluoridation this election day. Thirty-one Tennessee cities stopped fluoridation after a state lawmaker who is also an MD urged fluoridation cessation. An Alamo Texas legislator spearheaded and end to fluoridation based on the evidence.

“People are too complacent with government -sanctione d drugs added to their drinking water. Fluoride is neither a nutrient nor essential for healthy teeth. Added to water supplies, not to purify them, but as a drug to fight tooth decay.
The scientific evidence shows that fluoride, alone, is extremely harmful to health. It's something you can do something about. Sign the petition to stop fluoridation here

Firms Accused of Toxic Toothpaste Import
Commented Mar 07, 2008 at 10:23:58 in Business
“Americans need to be aware that even fluoridated toothpaste, regulated as a safe drug by the FDA, can be harmful to many people. Read the back of the tube.
Even when you don't swallow toothpaste, the fluoride gets absorbed into the bloodstream via the tissues of the cheeks and gums.
One man's arthritic condition reversed after his habitual toothbrushing with fluoridated toothpaste was stopped.

“I am glad you said that.
Plus, toothpaste has a lot of sugar in it. Not many people realize this, even some dentists are in denial about the sugar in toothpaste. Licorice in toothpaste can be bad for high blood pressure. Finding a good toothpaste is hard if you are sensitve to chemicals.”

Hillary Clinton Defends 2002 Iraq War Vote On Meet The Press
Commented Jan 13, 2008 at 12:31:15 in Politics
“Obama is being disingenuous. Hillary spent so much time on Obama because Tim Russett kept pressing her on it. She tried very hard to get off that subject and spent a lot of time praising Obama. I'm very discouraged by this reply from Obama. I want to like him; but I don't know what he has or will accomplish. And I don't like how he has misrepresented Hillary's remarks. Too bad most people will just see his retort.”

“I read Obama's remarks and wondered if he even saw the same interview. Russert and the press will truncate and spin to heap positive praise on their golden boy..... oops.. is that racist, I mean golden man. They are using race to get votes. This will backfire on the Obama campaign. And what's with Russert using comments from the wicked witch from the east (Modope) to claim Hillary as a victim. Oh puleeze! Where's the beef? Side note: what a schmuck Johh Kerry has turned out to be......”
