“I just don't understand why women are having a fit about the mammogram thing, yet NOT having any fits at all about the carcinogens in our environment that are helping to cause cancer in the first place...such as GMO's in virtually all foods, hormones in beef and chicken, mercury in seafood, Rbgh in milk ,yogurt, ice cream,contaminants (such as pharmaceuticals ,among other things)in our drinking water,known carcinogens in personal care products and house-cleaners,etc,etc. Why not put your energies on keeping the horses in the barn,rather than trying to catch them once they have gotten out-so to speak?”

“I don't see this as about the money. Click on www.preventcancer.com and you can see that Huff Post blogger, Dr. Samuel Epstein, has been talking about the dangers of mammograms for years. Lancet, the noted British medical journal, published a study about the hazards of mammograms about 15 years ago...exactly the same information that appeared in American newspapers today. The bottom line is, we all need to hold pharmaceutical companies, agri-businesses, food companies,corporate and individual polluters responsible for the deteriorating health of the planet and all of the life on it. At the rate we are going, we all need to be tested every year on every organ and molecule in our bodies for cancer, not just breast and prostate.”

Monsanto is seeking to control the world's food supply, and force GMO seeds and foods down our throats, and we won't have an option for any other foods if they get their way. Environmental physicians issued an unprecedented position paper stating that doctors need to advise their patients to avoid all GMO foods because of the potential cellular damage caused by them. We will need alot of health care in some way or form because people are getting sicker and sicker, cancer is epidemic, auto-immune diseases are quite common, obesity is commonplace, etc. And the FDA is incestuously close to the mega-companies that are poisoning us for their own profit. Google Monsanto, Michael Taylor, GMO seeds, and see for yourself.”

“That's what I mean....Obviously, the states would have to have uniform rules in order to force the insurance companies to be competitive,.that would be simpler than the brouhaha going on now.”

“My husband did a surgery program in the Army, and he was so frustrated because the clinics closed every day at 4 pm, and no one would do any work after that. The OR crews, the nurses, etc., said that they got paid the same no matter if they worked or went home, so at closing time, they were going home. He thinks that it is interesting that none of the lawyers in DC are addressing the malpractice abuses. In Texas, now that physicians limits have been brought down, lawyers just aren't interested in "justice" anymore, because they can't get a million dollar payoff. Also, why can't insurance companies be forced to compete across state lines? Simple and competitive. Finally, my husband is a cardiovascular surgeon, working 15 hour days for the past 20 years. It used to be that 4 medical students vied for each cardiovascular fellowship. Now, most of these spots are vacant. No one wants to be a CV surgeon anymore, as the physical demand is great, the pay off is small (if any),and the lawyers are rubbing their hands together with glee at the pot of gold around every doctors' head ....easy prey and fairly easy money for anyone with a law degree. With lawyers and insurance companies running decisions in Washington, we don't stand a chance.”

That would make them at least competitive.Also, not a word from all those lawyers in DC about malpractice reform...those million dollar-plus malpractice insurance lawsuits are much too juicy to reign in, obviously. “I agree....I don't understand. I have a very small boutique, but it generates thousands of dollars a month in sales taxes for the state of Texas, and the same in taxes that support local schools, police department, etc. If many small businesses can't keep going, where is the money going to come from for these things?Small businesses are the backbone of economies, so why does it seem that they are being overlooked and dismissed ?Luckily for me, my shop is an amusing hobby, but the money it generates is real . When the time comes that the pressures outweigh the joys, I will close shop and garden or something. Has anyone in Washington ever had a real job? Maybe former small business owners should start running for office.”

“I think that simply said, "WWJD", as in "What would Jacquie do?". I understand the higher nature of things, but sometimes it is helpful to think of the older-fashioned virtues of holding your tongue and going on from there,regardless of trying to be a saint.”

“No way! I have a shop in a high-priced shopping center, and the center has provided an expensive,clearly marked sign that says that this particular parking space, right in front of the door to my shop, is for my specific customers, only.Well, all day long, my manager and I deal with people pulling up and parking in this space, then walking or even running as fast as they can, to say, Starbuck's. Many times, they hold business meetings at Starbuck's, so they are in my parking space for hours. Do I say, "God bless them and give them a long life"....NO! I wouldn't be able to pay my lease! We have to keep an eye on this space all day long, in order to protect it, somewhat -or actually, very much like a territorial dog! We are horrified at the rudeness and indifference of so many people, and the way that we deal with it is, fifty times a day or so, run outside, try to get the attention of the person, and ask them to please move their car or doublepark by the curb. sometimes they tell us that they can park there all day long, and that there is nothing we can do about it! This is true, so then we say, "Well, we will be doing some furniture spray-painting out front, so hopefully no paint will get on your car". That usually works! Remember, even Jesus got angry at people that behaved disrepectfully.”

“Obviously, as each household held "three generations" of each family, and "the elderly" were cherished in their society,the norm was not dying of cancer deaths...if so, there would have been no need to do any research on these guys!Back in the 1960's, cancer was not the epidemic that it is now, which is why the focus was on heart attacks!”
