Completely take Democrats out of this heath care debate.
Lets call it BoehnerCare
Lets say that the GOP had had complete control over how this health care system would have been developed. That they hired the tech company to build the software. That they were in control.
Please tell me.....
What would be different????”

“For one thing, I bet they would have at least hired an AMERICAN COMPANY to do it. It's not like we have any tech companies like microsoft, apple, oracle, etc....”

“Your question is flawed? The Republicans would have approached "making health care affordable," differently. Their approach was and is to let the free-market do its job by allowing people to buy insurance across state lines, tort reform (i.e. eliminate or cap punitive damages), etc. Before cell phones Bell Telephone and AT&T had a monopoly. The average long distance bill for small business was more than $1,000/month. Today, with Skype, you can call anywhere in the world for free and your nationwide domestic service is under $60/month. The same principals would apply to health insurance.”

“"Lets say that the GOP had had complete control over how this health care system would have been developed...What would be different????"
Americans not insured or having previous conditions would have been offered ACA. The rest of us happy with our health care would have been told 'carry on!' It wasn't broke and over 80% of Americans did not want it fixed. The number one issue on the minds of Americans was jobs. ACA is a massive jobs killing deal, so it has accomplished exactly the opposite of what the people wanted.”

“First, they know better than to try to pull this crap on the American public.
Second. If the government is involved. Therefore it will be more costly and provide less than promised. No matter which party is in office.”
“All of you who think the police should aim for the leg, Just stand there or "hide behind the car until they are 50% sure" should walk a mile in their shoes.
When someone does not do as they are told they are begging for the police to be even more cautious and they are increasing the chance they will be shot.
To the person who said they should have seen the red tip on the toy. It was not a toy. It was a pellet gun and had no red tip. They had moments to decide. You would stand there until they fired off a round???? Right ! !
Where are the parents? Why did he have access to this gun without supervision?
Walking down the street today with anything that even looks like a weapon in inviting trouble.
With weapon ownership, whether it is a toy, pellet, BB or a real AK-47 comes responsibility.
Kids need to have been taught that and adults should know that or this will happen over and over.
The police are right to shoot to kill and if you are honest and put yourself in their shoes you would do the same.”
“"Had this Military hero been armed he could have saved many lives, including his own".
That's the best comment you have. Some people think if every single person carried a weapon there would be no killings. Are they really that stupid??
Why did the owner of the weapon this middle school student used to murder this teacher and wound others not have it secured in a manner that would have stopped this before it started. That person needs to be arrested, charged with murder and locked away for life.
Why does gun ownership not include being responsible enough to keep your weapons secure. If the Mom in Sandyhook had done so that tragedy may never have happened.”
Zachary W on Oct 22, 2013 at 19:51:54
“Yes because every gun legally owned eventually shoots someone... Give it a rest these stories are tragic but are a very very small minority of the total homicide rates in the country.”

“I totally understand what you're saying, but it is mere speculation at this point because we don't know where he got the gun to begin with. He could have bought it on the streets. I think we need to wait for more information to come out before we make accuse others. But yes - gun owners should definitely keep their weapons in a gun safe under lock and key. My dad always did, and we were raised with a defnitive understanding of the seriousness of the weapons.”

“The "Mom in Sandyhook" was doing more to protect her child against the people that would/could bully him, that in protecting the people from her child. From her point of view it was more likely that Adam would be bullied than Adam would bully somebody else. Unlike most gun owners she had a safe, but Adam had access to the key or the combination.”

“F&F. I agree, all gun owners should use trigger guards and gun safes and if they don't and something like this happens the parents are equally responsible.”
“I don't think it's bad That Republicans Control The House, it's bad that neither party is neither willing nor able to put their egos or desire their to be re-elected aside to actually do what is best for the country.
The GOP hates Obama Care. Do they honestly think anything would be the least bit different if it had been their idea?
It would still be to complicated and to expensive. It would not do what they thought it would because no one would have read what they wrote. The same group would have picked a Tech Company to write the software and would not have given them enough information or even the correct information. They would have changed their minds so often the result would be exactly the same as it is today.
Sad to say but government today is simply not capable of doing anything for the country that actually works for the country. Our founding fathers have to be rolling over in their graves seeing how they have perverted the system so it only benefits those who are in office.”
They say "The rationale: federal workers shouldn't have to pay the price for Congress's failures."
What about the rest of the country? Congress is a total failure in every respect.
And bonner with a fist pump and a smile. What a jerk.
Will they use this time to actually have conversations?
Not a chance. We will be in this exact position come January.”

“There is no evidence that that picture had any relation to this specific issue. For these articles they most frequently go through a catalogue of already obtained pictures to match to their articles. But you already knew that right?”

“Did it cost you? Can you post a balance sheet someplace to prove it? Notice we never heard from salaried federal workers who missed a payday? The 10/11 payroll was not affected by the 10/1 shutdown (it had already cut off) and the 10/25 payroll is going to go through. Some part time and hourly workers might be affected, but career level civil service professionals didn't miss a dime or a minute.”

“He pumped his fist because he'll be able to make happy hour..”
“This is yet another example of government having no idea of what something will cost through to completion. They send out for a bid and it does not matter at all if the contractor goes over, They just give them more. If the true cost had be shown up front the project may never have been started. Earmarks are the bane of this countries budget.
I ask anyone out there, "What has government ever gotten right". "What programs actually work".
Use most any definition of work you like, what works?
Does the program provide a service for a reasonable cost? Does it reach the intended individuals? Is there a real penalty for fraud?
I submit that it is impossible for government to ever and I do mean ever, come up with a plan, policy, program the anyone can even remotely say works. Cannot be done.
Government it too concerned with their personal lives and being re-elected to do what is required to actually help this country. They vote for their own raises, they exempt themselves form the laws they create.
If you disagree, please provide an example of what they have done right.

this is NOT an example of what gov't gets right, it's an example of WHO profits from the thievery”

“Your post is just pure negative emotion, no way to answer it. Hope it felt good to vent.”
“"Let me ask a Curz a simple question," Why is one man preventing this whole situation from being resolved? If bonner would allow a vote to come to the floor it would pass with votes coming from both sides of the aisle. What is he afraid of and why does he alone get to decide what laws get to be voted on?
The approval rating of congress is close to single digits and I hope come election time the public remembers. Not one should be returned to office. NOT ONE ! ! !”

“Because it has come down to the point of this nation going in one direction or the other, a lot of patrioted americans sees we are headed toward a more socialistist country than we want, and will take steps to prevent that. It seems insane to people who are willing to go along to get along, but that is not how this country was founded.”
“Only 10% think congress is doing a good job. That amounts to just friends and family. Congress has had a year to work on this and as usual they wait till the last moment and then act like 2 year olds on the playground. Throw them all out. Not one should be returned to office. They are only there for themselves. Their only job is to get re-elected. They are counting on the short term memory of the public to forget about this when election time comes around.
If you ever get the chance ask why do they pass laws that they are exempt from?”

“It's the same old RW dribble....at the end of the day, they want no part of having to help pay for anything that helps anyone but themselves. In short, they spent 30 years making themselves fat and happy while sucking the income out of the working class. Now that working class can't get along without government hand outs and they are now the only ones with any money to pay for those handouts. The game is simple: Raid the workers incomes to make yourself a pile of money, push them all into poverty, and when the bill comes due scream to end all government handouts and demand everyone fend for yourself. Creates a nice class of work desperate people willing to work for peanuts just to survive to provide cheap labor.”
