“I also very much appreciate someone who is actually able to admit the many bone headed mistakes of the bush administration (I would substitute "almost all" for "many" regarding policy failures, but that's me).
Now, I'll make a confession. Recently I asserted to friends that now that The Republican Party has been pared down to it's core supporters we can see that one component of the conservative mind set is a total inability to admit "I was wrong". The flip side of that would be a liberal mind set who freely admit when they have been wrong. I admit that the two biggest mistakes were sending money to the RNC back in '73 because I feared their demise following Watergate (my one and only political donation until '06) and voting for Reagan the first time he ran. I was mad at Carter for his domestic failures-----------and I figured " Who else would vote for this guy?", so I'm safe.
I now know that at least one republican who is willing to admit the train wreck that was the bush administration. I guess denial of responsability isn't a universal trait after all.”

It's time to start behaving like we have a majority, or something. Maybe the vote to end debate on the Judge is the beginning of a rudimentary Back Bone among Liberal Legislators.
Now, let's move on to health care reform and see if they can remember how they did it.”

WSJ: AIG CEO Robert Benmosche Ready To Quit Over Pay Constraints
Commented Nov 11, 2009 at 07:54:22 in Business
“'Ya know, I guess I'm just not "with it".
Seems to me that scores of universities graduate a thousand MBA's every semester. If I'm not mistaken, these folks are considered to be competent to join the ranks and in a few years they will be ready to be promoted to upper management. After a few more years experience they may even become a vice president of something or other. If this isn't the case then why do we keep paying these places such high tuitions?
Mr. Benmosche and the other cry babies in Financials certainly have several of these MBA's on staff. If they aren't ready for promotion internally, then I guess an outsider will need to be hired.
There. Problem solved. Certainly AIG (or The U.S.Government) now needs to compensate me for my masterful problem solving.
Oh..............and as for Mr. Benmosche? I understand places like The Cayman Islands are looking for some people, maybe you can find work there.”
