GOP, Warning Of A 'New EPA', Oppose Independent CFPA

Commented Jan 04, 2010 at 22:17:28 in Politics

“Senator Bbenntt and the GOP really make a strong point......just imagine how disasterous it would be to have an agency to protect consumers at a "cost" to businesses. If an agency should protect consumers from abuse from businesses, of course it will be at a cost to business....as well it should be. Just imagine how awful it would be to have protections from usurous practices by,..oh say, credit card companies.....wow, what an awful thing. The GOP is doing a great job at exposing themselves as good old-fashioned Republicans......protect big business and screw the rest of us. Thanks guys and good luck in the 2010 elections.”

“BREAKING NEWS!!!! Nebraska Senator Nelson cuts deal giving insurance interests huge break.....assures that his career in insurance industry and hundreds of thousands in campaign contributions from the industry were not a factor......"all savings will be passed on to the consumer" god bless those insurance companies..they are so focused on the welfare of the consumer.. why no one really thinks the gutting of the health care reform bill favors the insurance industry....those huge increases in their stock values are mere coincidence...... this whole process is enough to make you sick, but be careful, it's probably not covered by your health insurance (except for those 40 or more million out there who we know aren't covered) Merry Christmas from the American Insurance Indistry”

“obama and the democratic leadership caved in to Lieberman, the blue-dog democrats, the GOP and the insurance industry and abandoned the progressive base that put them in office......they can hope to get enough GOP support to make up for the loss of their true base....but they'd better work at it, every progressive I talk with is as disgusted as I am.......when you choose to appease Joe Lieberman you have sold out big-time.........”

“you remember the dialogue in Batman 2 when Bale tries to analyze the joker and Michael Caine replies ' some people just want to watch the world burn '. They are not after money or anything and they don't belong into the category of normal villains . Joe lieberman and some of the republicans belong to the some group of people who just want to watch the world burn .Obama has done a very good job at pulling this one off. We will be grateful to him in the coming years. Just because it doesn't contain everything you or me wanted doesn't mean it's bad . This has given an impetus. Remember how so many failed even to start the engine.. Once the process starts and people actually see the truth the task of reforming it further becomes much more easier. Obama is doing the best he can and he knows the importance of this start, so he is playing it very safe..The clamor for the public option and further reform will grow louder and the senate will be finally forced to make the necessary changes. Patience my friend is a virtue and that too a great one..”

Commented Dec 21, 2009 at 17:07:48 in Politics

“it's scary, but I find myself agreeing with Michael Steele......for different reasons, of course......I do agree that the Democratic Congressional leadership (and President Obama) have been cowardly in abandoning truly meaningful health care reform...every poll showed public support for a public option, yet they caved and let Joe Lieberman, blue-dog democrats,GOP thugs and the insurance industry hijack the bill....yes, Michael, that was cowardly....and yes, they did "flip the bird"; unfortunately to the broad base of progressives who elected President Obama and gave them their Congressional majorities......they should have flipped it to Joe Lieberman a long time ago and refused to buckle under to powerful lobbyists who don't represent the welfare of the American people.... so Michael, f@#k you and all your right-wing friends.....for christmas, I'm wishing you a lifetime without health care coverage......see how you like it, you creep”

Harry Reid Should be Asked: WWLBJD With Lieberman?

Commented Dec 19, 2009 at 19:21:14 in Politics

“you're ever-so-right....LBJ would have creamed Lieberman.....but, first, of course, after Lieberman's losing the Democratic primary, then running as an independent and winning (with many, many republican votes); LBJ would have never allowed him in the Democratic caucus......only two Senators opposed the infamous Tonkin Resolution (Gruener of Alaska and Morse of Oregon) and the LBJ machine ground them both out of politics in their next re-election campaigns....It's hard to believe anyone (even the very wimpy Harry Reid) would allow Joe the Weasel to control the fate of a bill as important as health care reform.....and, of course, the bill has now lost those very elements which would have made it so valuable to tens of millions of Americans.......a pox on Lieberman and those who enabled him to destroy one of the most needed planks of the progressive movement....”

“there's really no surprise here......meaningful health care reform is a key element in today's progressive movement.....by the way, that's the same movement which elected President Obama....maybe you haven't, but it seems Obama and the Democratic leadership in Congress have all forgotten this fact.......our President, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, et al seems to really believe that "compromise" means giving up everything to satisfy others....like Joe Lieberman, blue-dog Democrats and obstructionist Republicans, oh and don't forget the insurance lobby... If a gutted bill becomes law, we've seen the last of "reform" for the next twenty or more years....we'd all be better off to tell the insurance industry and their many friends in Congress to "kiss our @#$" and wait until after the 2010 election and see if there's enough of a majority to actually get something done to benefit the American people.....NO bill is better than a VERY BAD BILL....”

“joe arpaio has been the darling of the right-wing "land & order" crowd for years........pink underwear, miminal food, wretched living conditions. abusive treatment, etc and joe's fans love it all. The county has paid millions in settlements to prisoners and families of prisoners, yet Joe is still their hero. We are all frustrated by the high crime rates, high recidivism rates and huge costs associated with "public safety" (whatever that is).....yet there is nothing to suggest that we can "jail" ourselves out of this mess..the "lock 'um up & then abuse them" approach simply has not worked; not in Miracopa County or anywhere else........we need a national dialogue over public safety and some creative, sensible new ideas to address the problem.......somehow, I don't think pink underwear is the answer...sorry, Joe”

Sheriff Joe Arpaio claims recidivism in the jails was reduced during his time as sheriff.

Truth: Sheriff Joe Arpaio spent $10,000 in taxpayer money to have Arizona State University study recidivism in the jail system. The result showed that there was no change in the rate at which inmates returned to jail. Sheriff Joe Arpaio immediately declared that ASU was wrong.”

Matthew 7:15-23

-Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
-Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
-Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
-A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
-Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
-Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
-Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
-Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
-And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In love-----”
