And where was the scrutiny by the Leftwing media when Soros was pumping billions into the Obama campaign in 2008? Got it yet?”

“Way to go Huffpost. Keep on churning out the feeds from the Obama re-election campaign. Got to keep earning those brownie points as committed Obama fanboys. Maybe occasionally you'll be embarassed and do some real pieces on the miserable job Obama has done and all the lies he's told. Maybe but I doubt it. That would require integrity.”

This crowd is a mob... they don't think... they act... They have no idea what Obama has done, is doing, and that is because they don't look at both sides... they only listen to what they are fed by the mainstream news although, unbelievably, they don't even know the term "main stream news". I am black and I don't respect Obama, so I am racist. It's the ultimate insult, you can't argue against it - that's why it's so perfect for small minds.”

Because as Americans we don't live in a culture which is governed by religious law, we don't oppress women and non-muslim minorities and we don't believe that turning yourself into a suicide bomber who kills men, women and children is an admirable thing. And that's just for starters. Are you getting the picture?”

Those who do are viewed with even more hate than the non-muslim soldiers because they are seen as traitors to islam. Any Jihadi would gladly kill all muslims serving in the French army.”

“RickyJ, you need to get educated on the history of Jewish-arab relations in British mandate Palestine and post 1948 when israel was re-established. The arabs were NEVER interested in any joint developement with the Jews. From the very first years of the 20th century the arabs work in vehement opposition to the Jews re-settling. There were regular attacks and massacres as their religious and political leaders encouraged the arabs to kill Jews. Check it out.”
“As someone familiar with arab culture and Islamic theology there is only one primary thing to expect: a drive to eliminate all Western cultural forms which have taken hold in Egypt and the gradual imposition of strict Shariah law.”

“I agree with you completely. The law of Physics states for every action (Western adoption imposed or not) results in an opposite but equal reaction. What interests me is for how long will strict Shariah law be tolerated. If the people are simply left alone to self-determine their future and their nation's future.”

“I have Egyptian friends who say the MB are viewed as moderates, for the most part. The second in command of the MB is a Coptic Christian. It's the MB that has provided the social safety nets and health care for the people that the government didn't/wouldn't.
Sharia law, in its normal interpretation, has many of the same restrictions as Biblical law, except it's a much more generous and giving law than the usual western interpretation of Christianity.
Anyone can take religion to extremes, as the Dominionists do in this country, and as fundamentalist Muslims can with Sharia law. But both use grossly incorrect or radical interpretations in order to do what they wanted to do anyway, and claim it's because of their religious laws.”

“Jesus had no slaves. Jesus taught to do to others as you would have them do to you. Jesus had no slaves, and it is apparent from His teachings that He would not have slaves. He freed men, not enslaved them. No one wants to be enslaved against their will.
Mohammed was a slaver. He owned and sold many slaves, both male and female. He said Allah allowed him and his Muslim followers to have sex with their female slaves when the men wanted to. Reference the Quran, Sura (chapters) 33:50, 52, 23:5, and 70:30. Slaves are considered "booty" for Muslims when taken in raids, thus they are Muslim's property.”

“I think the Christian slave holders of the 19th Century simply ignored Jesus on the slavery issue.
And not all Muslims crave slaves like Mohammed may have.
Besides, isn';t that the complaint of many African Americans that it was Christian slavers that took slaves of people that belonged to tribes defeated by other African tribes.
So, I now must ask what is it about Christianity that is so superior to Islam.
By the way, I'm an agnostic. I think all religions are creepy, self-righteous and unfounded with all religions being unable to take any moral highground over the other.”

“Are you kidding??? No slaves in the time and place of Jesus? Of course there were. Slavery is rampant in both the Old and the New Testament. No where in the Bible did Jesus, or any of the apostles, denounce or try to bring an end to slavery. Jesus healed a slave and spoke approvingly of the slave owner (his faith), but didn't denounce him for being a slaveowner (Lk. 7:1-10). He said nothing that indicated disapproved of slavery.
“Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ....”
“There is a major flaw in the thesis that income differences explain the racial gap. Consider these three observable facts from The College Board's 2005 data on the SAT:
• Whites from families with incomes of less than $10,000 had a mean SAT score of 993. This is 129 points higher than the national mean for all blacks.
• Whites from families with incomes below $10,000 had a mean SAT test score that was 61 points higher than blacks whose families had incomes of between $80,000 and $100,000.
• Blacks from families with incomes of more than $100,000 had a mean SAT score that was 85 points below the mean score for whites from all income levels, 139 points below the mean score of whites from families at the same income level, and 10 points below the average score of white students from families whose income was less than $10,000.
“It seems like every race has things they are good at, but other things may be done better by other races. Blacks can kick butt in track and other sports. They produce proportionally more great entertainers and singers. It looks like they aren't as good at test taking. These things are all generally speaking, of course.”

“Do you mean the Bernard Lewis who is recognized as the leading authority on the history of Islam and its treatment of non-muslim minorities? I highly recommend his works to the uninformed and brainwashed.”
“Once again, you are quite wrong. This is a religious dispute at its core. It's not about the importance of Jerusalem to muslims, which in fact, it never was of major religious importance for muslims until Israel took control of the city. It is about the right of a non-muslim people, the Jews, who are disparaged throughout the Koran to rule in the Dar al Islam over muslims. The very reality of the existence of Israel confounds the believing muslims as it contradicts everything stated about them and their 'fate' in the Koran. It's all about religion. With a capital R.”

“Both you and Karim are wrong: at last reunited, you should be happy! -:)
Karim, you claim Jerusalem was the most holy place for Muslims before it was supplanted by Mecca, but Islam did not exist until Mohammed establish the umma in Mecca!!
There is no way Jerusalem could be considered as anywhere near equal to Mecca or even Medina in Islam!
As for talking Muslims. I am getting fed up talking with both whacked out Muslims and Jews on these threads!”
“You're quite wrong. This is primarily a religious dispute at its core. Islam regards the entire Middle East as the Dar al Islam or Heartland of Islam. Islamic belief cannot and will not allow a non-muslim entity to exist on land in the Dar. This can be confirmed at any time by listening or reading the exhortations of muslim religious leaders to take back Israel from the Jews. Their exhortations come directly from the Koran. Only the very naive and those unschooled in islamic theology and history believe otherwise. Needless to say, that group comprises the majority of most non-muslims.”

“Oh please, the Israelis have argued (by Israelis, I mean Israelis with arguments or knowledge not Joe Blowski) for years that Jerusalem and Palestine are, in fact, of very limited religious significance to Islam, and I think they are right!
Yes, the Muslims argument that Palestine is also of religious significance, but the main point is that the area occupied by Israel today was also a point of much suffering during the Christian Crusader States. Not just Arabs, but Turks and Persisans see a new encroachment by a largely Western people as being a recreation of the Crusader States. Of course, we can argue they are being oversensitive, but it would be absurd to dismiss their worries and anger.
As for characterization of non-Muslims as ignorant, you are surely right, but I, for one, identify with ANY and ALL people who wish to fight for peace and justice based on the same principles for all.
That latter point is crucial, because if Hungarians are not allowed to reclaim the half of Europe they lost over 1,000 years ago (ditto for any number of countries) then I see no reason why Israel should be given a pass either!
An historic compromise must be made and there are increasing numbers of Palestinians who are willing to deal. So excuse me but I prefer siding with Jews, Muslims, Christians and Atheists, like myself, in the struggle to bring peace. Whether people call us antisemite, ignorant or anti-Arab makes not the slightest difference!”

“That's what Apartheid South Africans used to say: blacks had it better in SA than in impoverished countries run by dictatorships. True, as far as that goes, but that still didn't give whites to rule over blacks in their own country. Ditto for Israel, and no amount of spinning can change that truth!”

“Isreael was created in 1948 and since that date not one building permit has been issued to any one who was not jewish. They have knocked down thousand of arabs homes because they lack buidling permits. They also have town which make it against the law to rent to anyone not jewish. So please stop the fairy tale that Arabs have more civil rights in Israel than other arab countries. Iran has a very large jewish population and the jewish population have more rights and treated much better in Iran than arabs in Israel.”
“5 million Jews in Israel and 300 million arabs are powerless in their racist intolerance and hatred to destroy them. The arabs are cursed by their history. Their racist and fascist Islam condemns them to forever dwell in anarchy, chaos, violence and oppression. So it has been for centuries. So will it continue to be.”
“Let me remind you, sinceyou seem to have forgotten, that Hamas in gaza has declared itself dedicated to the destruction of Israel and has been regularly firing rockets into israeli civilian cities and launching attacks on the ground since they came into power. So we are talking about relations between 2 entities where one has openly declared themselves at war with the other. The items which Israel blockaded were those which could be used in the manufacture of weapons, explosives and other products which could aid the Hamas fighting capacity. This included many common items which are normally not thought of as ingredients used to maim or kill. Yes, there are a lot of poor people in Gaza. There is no industry there except fishing and some agriculture and the population is very large. Is that Israel's fault? Every arab country with the exception of the Gulf States is dominated by very poor people. That's what happens when you have a culture where men are allowed 2,3,4 or more wives and families with 8,9,10 or more children are common. What you and the rest of the flotilla participants should have really been carrying on your boats and getting into Gaza is birth control products and forming educational centers on family planning. I don't think the Israelis ever had those on their boycott list.”
