"Even ordering the CIA to follow military rules in interrogating enemy combatants depends wholly on the president's authority to command the military and determine operational tactics and strategy," he adds.
His argument is flawed as well, I feel. The President already had the power as Commander in Chief of the armed forces. Yoo´s misinterpretation of the Constitution tried to change it to absolute control and power over all executive matters. That is quite different.”

Does love really exist in this hedonistic world of ours? Or is it only our selfish needs? Our own desires that fuel the potion. Does she love me, love me not... What does it really matter? One hellish alchemy if it does.
__________
(I think this got scrubbed so forgive me if it appears twice).
So you caused me to philosophize. I think "love " is a part of our being our epistemology. There are 3 forms of love that are meant to work in harmony: Agapae- Spiritual Love as God (or your version there of),is love in each person´s soul. 2. Eros for which you speak.. "he loves me, he loves me not," and 3. Philos-- Brotherly love-- do unto others..
I think you can exist without any or all forms of love but can you live? No you exist in a bereft state of being without anyone of these forms of love.
Hedonism can stand as a barrier to love because of its selfish nature. So like anything else we have to work to achieve perfection or even a tranquil state of. Those are my thoughts on the subject.
