“Pregnant or not (she didn't look it in these last several shows), Heidi just looks unkept e.g., her hair especially.”

“Which Annie is your daughter? They were both really cute!

My pick is exactly the same as yours: Carol Hannah, Irina then Althea.

Irina set next to an African American gentleman at dinner and we never found who he was? Everyone else was introduced at the table. At least s he went to dinner, I thought she was going to just be rude and send poor Tim off into the snow without a meal.

Finally, why doesn´t Irina put royal blue mixed in with all that grey and black, or royal blue shirts or skirts with the jackets (which are lovely)

My only difference is I still like the show and am still hooked even though the other seasons were better.

PR.. please go back to New York!”

hp blogger Una LaMarche replied on Nov 14, 2009 at 14:52:06

“Actually the Annie is my friend Amy's daughter. She's the one on the left -- the ONLY one with a LOCKET, I might add :)

Maybe that guy is Irina's boyfriend, or gay BFF. Anyway, if he was too boring to get screen time this season he must be essentially catatonic.”

“There is a great distinction between spiritualism and over-zealousy. You are wrapping them all in the same package and they are not the same at all.

The issue is not that people have religious faith, the issue is when that faith becomes dogmatic and non-nuanced as the writer so aptly points out.”

“Fundamentalist over zealots are dangerous in any religion, political party or otherwise. This should never be held against Islam or the Muslim people, and we as Americans must stop generalizing and stereotyping precious individuals.”

Durango replied on Nov 07, 2009 at 20:04:20

“Absolutely.

The great crime is the over generalizing and stereotyping.

Which is exactly what bin Ladin and his crew do to justify their crimes.

It does not help us to imitate them.

Not to mention: How does anyone know why he did what he did? Must be clairvoyant.”

“The problem is people are pretending as if Islam is such a peaceful religion that a "true"Muslim could never do this. That is blatantly wrong. Islam is no different from any religion and has a lot of elements that promote this type of behavior. It is inherent in the fact that each religion is competing for recruits and cultural dominance. It could be through economic, political or in this case violent intimidation. In the end they all strive to make their religion dominant and Muslims are no different.”

Project Runway Episode 12 Recap: Let's Getty It Over With

Commented Nov 06, 2009 at 21:39:52 in Style

“Carol Hannah´s no fool, she wanted Chris to go with her because he wasn´t competition, don´t let the dewy eyed smile fool you. I thought her dress was gorgeous but looked nothing like the inspiration, except the braiding. She could have made a beautiful dress that was more like the bed though.

Chirs.. WITH THE CRYING... I wanted to shake him.. STOP THE CRYING! Too ridiculous.. and you are 100% right about Christian. He was the Man! I remember he would just whip those clothes up, be finished before everyone, have a nap and his design would way outshine everyone elses.

I missed Michael Kors and Nina and New York, but I still think the show was interesting. Admittedly, they could improve some of the challenges, but I¨m a die hard about Project Runway, personally, and Heidí´s my girl.

I have to admit, I watch Models of the Runway too (even though I know it´s really a bad show) and I liked Matar. Carol Hannah´s model can do that 40´s look with style.”

“"SILVER LAME BERMUDA SHORTS EQUAL HELL TO THE NO."

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha to the nth!

By the way you´re as cute as you are funny.

I loved Carol Hannah´s dress. Logan´s outfit was ridiculous and he´s a bit too Metro-sexual for my taste.

You didn´t note that Althea acted like a real southerner--smiling in your face, but talking about you like a dog behind your back.. (I´m a southerner so I can talk)..

Except for Matar´s hair what was so bad about Gordana´s oufit? It was dull in color but was 100 times more cohesive than Logan´s mess, fancy dress on the bottom and zipper casual on the top, huh?

Finally, that Irina may not be the most pleasant person, but I WANT THAT SWEATER WITH THE FAUX FUR!

Thanks for the great re-cap Una. I don´t care what you people say, I still wait every week to watch Project Runway, and Heidi is cute even in silly pants. So auf Wiedersehen that.. can´t wait til next week!”

greymom replied on Nov 02, 2009 at 21:56:01

“I could see Reese Witherspoon in Carol Hannah's dress. I might make something like that for my granddaughter's winter formal.”

slimguru replied on Nov 01, 2009 at 19:54:51

“What's wrong with Gordana's outfit is that it was supposed to relate to her winning dress, be a companion piece -- and the retro depressed business woman two-piece was completely 100% in another zone entirely from her hip, edgy dress. If those two were part of a collection, you'd say, eh, what???
There seems to be no joy in PR land....”

A New Wrinkle in the JFK Assassination Story

Commented Oct 31, 2009 at 21:31:19 in Books

“I am correct as well, though not about the year, it has changed back and forth and was finally officially made the Speaker of the House- It was not the Secretary of State but the President Pro Tempore

http://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/minute/Presidential_Succession_Act.htm

The President Pro-Tempore is now 3rd in line under the Succession Act you correctly state.

(b) If, at the time when under subsection (a) of this section a Speaker is to begin the discharge of the powers and duties of the office of President, there is no Speaker, or the Speaker fails to qualify as Acting President, then the President pro tempore of the Senate shall, upon his resignation as President pro tempore and as Senator, act as President. http://www.doctorzebra.com/prez/a_act1947now.htm

“I had a disagreement with my mother about this in the 12 th grade :) at that time it was the Vice President--the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.. it was later changed to the Speaker of the House as 3rd in line.”

As for the real tools, they all went away to their home in the sky pretty fast didn't they, and those mob guys never talk. “The far right (Miami Cubans, Mafia, right-wing Republicans, rogue CIA elements) murdered President Kennedy.

And they don't want to talk about it, for fear that the rest of us will start talking about it -- seriously.

With a view to EXPOSING the assassins.

Not the patsy Oswald. He was a nadie-de-nadie.

One thing about a dog that refuses to bark when it would be appropriate for it to do so --

There is usually a good REASON.

Kennedy was murdered by a right-wing conspiracy, and right-wingers don't want us to even think about it.”
