“He seems to be a very nice person but he is stuck on this point and refuses to listen to reason in this instance.”

“So, I've noticed. He is, however, a respectful poster and if I can't say something nice....or so my mother told me.”

“Yes that´s one of the major problems with this type of thought, where would the line be drawn?”

satanlite replied on Nov 29, 2009 at 20:41:01

“I'm sure you could find a nice Republican wife who wouldn't see anything wrong with making that decision. She'd probably consider it a rather fun pastime.”

I don´t know why my response was scurbbed, but your comment sounds like "Please sir , can I have just a bit more gruel.."”

“I asked that same question like 3 times and never got a response regarding banning all horrible food because that´s a lot of the food in the store, such as cereals full of sugar, processed meats and cheeses, frozen foods of sugar.. never got a response.”

HumeSkeptic replied on Nov 29, 2009 at 20:35:38

“That's true. And I wonder where he would draw the line. At what % of sugar content, for example.”

“That´s the problem, the middle class has been decimated by job loss and are no longer the middle class.”

Icantbelieveher replied on Nov 29, 2009 at 20:28:31

“Before Reaganomics and the trickle down, we had a strong middle class here in America. We were THE world power and other nations borrowed from us! We used to be the richest country in the world, and the American people all got a piece of the pie! A mother actually had the choice to stay home with her child, which is hardly the case today. Many times, husbands and wives have two jobs each to stay afloat, and the corporations and wealthy are the only people thriving!”

KDH replied on Nov 29, 2009 at 20:23:13

“The GOP goal since Eisenhower. Destroy the middle class. Create two classes. The have's...and the have not's.”

“I´m gonna get me a food stamp card and buy me 8 cases of diet sodas 100 packs of chips and 150 pounds of beef jerky.”

Tom Payned replied on Nov 29, 2009 at 20:06:35

“So happy you find the misery of others worthy of mirth and your merriment.

Stereotyping unfortunate people is sooooo easy when you think it can't happen to you.

I work with indigent people and so many had homes, jobs, and savings just a year ago. Through no fault of their own, the market tanked, medical bills wiped out their savings, their employer closed because he couldn't get the same credit line he'd been getting for years.

Yep, whoop it up.

I hope you never suffer the same fate even if others could find laughter at your expense.”

BradSmith replied on Nov 29, 2009 at 19:53:01

“You could do that if you wanted to no problem in fact you can dump out the soda and in Michigan turn in the cans for ten cents each and buy yourself a pack of smokes.

I really don't mind being the only one who understands that food stamps should be limited to food with nutrition.

It's not only better for the people it's the right thing to do.”

“Oh puleeeeze.. it´s just so typical mistrustful existentialism, everyone is bad and a potential abuser.. So blinded by your existensial blind fold you can´t see that people need this at this time because of the collapse of the economy and abusers are not a large portion of those using this program.

There does need to be job creation as a priority, but in the meantime, people need food stamps and that´s the bottom line, and whether or not buy diet sodas is certainly not the issue.

This was a near depression.. two steps from the bread lines, stop blaming and fussing about people who have suffered enough.”
