Homeowners Protest HAMP: 'It's Just A Scam And The Banks Are Getting Everything'

“I GOT A HAMP MODIFICATION!!

It required lots of patience, documentation, call backs, holding on the phone, demanding to talk to supervisors about communication that was not happening between their departments, figuring out where paperwork needed to go by talking to mulitple people, sending docs multiple times, escalating requests to supervisors for their end of the paperwork. The bottom line is it was my full time job for a year to get my paperwork processed properly. They were too busy and not organized enough to handle it themselves because they were flooded with applicants but we did it by PAYING ATTENTION, BEING PROACTIVE, EDUCATED AND PERSISTENT. We were turned down the first time and RE-APPLIED. The key was missing one mortgage payment. That made it easier than when we were struggling to keep making our payment. Also, we made our trial payments religiously and when we went over the three months without getting permanent papers back we called every single day to find out why. IT CAN BE DONE!!”

“You're inspiring me to buy a lottery ticket; Because you are that 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. But I'm glad for you. Every single person that keeps their home is golden right now.”

“...and you think that having to take such extraordinary actions is a good thing? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Are you a paid shill?”

“Not everyone is as persevering as you, you said it yourself, it must have been frustrating, to say the least.”

“I had a conversation about this with a Republican friend of mine just today. She said, boy, we're gonna be paying for this Obama health care thing for a long time. I asked, what about the veterans? Don't they come home, get all their care paid for by the VA then they have all these non profits asking us for even more money? I don't think we should give them any more money. Oh, I think we owe veterans everything she said. Playing devils advocate I replied, Why? I don't want to pay for them anymore. I didn't vote to send them to war. What about those missiles? Don't we pay like 250 million each for them? How much we are paying for these people to go over there, get blown up, then come back all sick and maimed. I say cut them off, let them take care of themselves. I don't like them spending my money. War is costing us like nine billion dollars a year. Thats enough to pay for health care and college or job training for everyone in America or something like that isn't it? Weren't we like 2 trillion in debt before Obama started? Well, yes, she replied. I still think that this health care is going to break us and Obama doesn't care that we're running out of money, he just prints more. I left it alone. Our realities were just too different. How can they not see? My friend is a good.”
