ACORN Scandal Offers Key Lessons to All Charities

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 15:24:58 in Politics

“All credible audits ?....Unless you give some references of the Florida audits...
"bushflipflops" stated atleast six facts ! you have not given one !

And...um.. Oh , Well, there is a union that is not franchised by the democratic party, you quoted someone that was the unions president at one time.”

“Six facts? Unsubstantiated claims--and not even six of them. Saying so, doesn't make them "facts".

PS I offered opinion--did not claim it to be "fact"

Your final paragraph is unintelligible.”

ACORN Scandal Offers Key Lessons to All Charities

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 10:42:56 in Politics

“The problem with the attacks against ACORN is that most of it is all lies. The gentleman in the San Diego
video ( Juan Carlos ) did absolutely nothing wrong !...the video is so fake ! ... yet it is the one that child prostitution, and smuggling illegals, are topics. James O'Keef and Hannah Giles destroyed a mans life. A man that did absolutely nothing to them. It could have been anyone working in that office. James walked in with the intent of creating his fictitios smear videos...He just used the ACORN office, and employees as props. Does the fact that Hannah is atractive, and that James is clean cut, and white blind so many people from seeing how evil this was ?
watch the video for yourself...it's still on youtube...Mr.Carlos did nothing wrong ! don't beleive the lies...”

“She Knows nothing ... But since she brought up the good sence of the late President Ronald Reagan, maybe It’s worth looking back on Reagan’s policy on involving U.S. troops in the quarrels and hatreds of the Middle East. In 1983, he committed U.S. Marines to Lebanon. On Oct. 23, a terrorist truck bomb blew up the troops’ barracks, killing 220 Marines and 21 other troops.

At first, Reagan insisted that he wouldn’t cave in to the terrorist threat. Then he realized the best policy was to pull out the troops. Here’s how he explained it in his autobiography:

Perhaps we didn’t appreciate fully enough the depth of the hatred and the complexity of the problems that made the Middle East such a jungle. Perhaps the idea of a suicide car bomber committing mass murder to gain instant entry to Paradise was so foreign to our own values and consciousness that it did not create in us the concern for the marines’ safety that it should have.

In the weeks immediately after the bombing, I believe the last thing that we should do was turn tail and leave. Yet the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics forced us to rethink our policy there. If there would be some rethinking of policy before our men die, we would be a lot better off. If that policy had changed towards more of a neutral position and neutrality, those 241 marines would be alive today.”

OlderWoman replied on Nov 20, 2009 at 13:11:10

“People MIGHT give her a little bit more credibility if she gave specific examples of Reagan's policy. For her to shoot off her mouth and say we need to go back to Reagan's policies is pretty simple.”

Holder's Baby Step On Medical Marijuana

Commented Oct 27, 2009 at 07:15:19 in Politics

“I don't think the classification of schedule I was ever meant to suggest that those drugs are more dangerous to the public than cocaine, methamphetamine, opium, and PCP. Schedule I drugs are in that catagory because they are of no known medical use, They are mostly psychedelics.

Also PCP is in scedule one, the precursor to it is in schedule two.

Holder's Baby Step On Medical Marijuana

Commented Oct 27, 2009 at 06:46:21 in Politics

“The thing about taxing pot for the sake of the economy is an arguement with alot of contradictions. First , taxing it goes against the medical use of it , because it will make it harder for poor people to afford their medicine.
Second, Marijuana should be legal, not so that it could be taxed, just as anything else be made legal simply for the fact that we can make money off of it.
I don't think the courts would be compelled by that arguement, and it could also be counter-productive in the long run

Keep going with the medical use arguement, and try getting the classification changed, even if done state by state....”

.Are contracts legal if they permit a law to be broken w/o justice. How can these contracts go unchallenged ?......... People that sign these contracts do so because they need employement, and can not sign their rights away. Our rights are unalianable, not inalienable, and cannot be sold.”

Would I be right in saying that your post describes a monitary system, which is differant than a true money system ??
This is a complex subject, but I'm trying to get a grasp by keeping the terms in solid barriers, instead of broad ones, as I am not a banker, but a retired carpenter.”

“Actually, Congress defunding ACORN right after those videos were seen on FOX, adds to ACORN's case for damages in their lawsuit. It helps prove the case.”

Nickel1951 replied on Sep 27, 2009 at 07:29:23

“Well in a lawsuit both sides get to "discover" what the facts are in the case. Through the process of discovery both sides must supply all the files, records and pertinent data that might be involved in any way with the case.

The discovery of ACORN will turn up some very interesting facts about the complete lack of any accounting in the entire ACORN organization. I think that the ACORN board with Mr John Podesta will regret ever filing this lawsuit.

The world will roll when the discovery makes the news with what ACORN has done with the $53,000,000 in taxpayer money over the last fifteen years. And the great part will be watching the democrats in both houses explain why they voted for ACORN to be eligible for $8,500,000,000 of grants under the STIMULOUS Plan.

That will be an nice talking point come next november for the Congressional midterms.”

Nonpartay replied on Sep 27, 2009 at 04:36:50

“Actually, it's unconstitutional for Congress to defund just one organization, so that bill is likely to get thrown out. If it passes, the bill would have to apply to all organizations accepting government funds, so it would mean that all kinds of military contractors would also be defunded since they have done much worse things than ACORN ever thought of, like murder and other atrocities.”

So Calif Ind replied on Sep 27, 2009 at 02:03:39

“Money is not owned by you, me, or the Government. It is owned by banks, and they do what they want to with it regardless of your opinion. Money is a commodity used to transfer debt.
When I buy a bicycle for $500, It is the bicycle that gives the money it's value. Not the other way around. So do yourself a favor, and create something, you know...work!. Once you have I'm sure the bank will let someone trade money for it, since you value the money so much.”

From the CourierPostonline:
The full statement is as follows: “Today we became aware of a video that was placed on the Internet which has been reported by the media. The video is of a class of students singing a song about President Obama. The activity took place during Black History Month in 2009, which is recognized each February to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country. Our curriculum studies, honors and recognizes those who serve our country. The recording and distribution of the class activity were not authorized.””

nancychatter replied on Sep 26, 2009 at 08:26:21

“It was NOT a staged event and THERE was not one thing weird or wrong about it. When I was in grade school we sang a song about George Washington cutting down the cherry tree and admitting he did it... it was suppose to help us learn not to lie.....
In this song all the kids are saying is Obama tells us to take a stand, equal pay for equal work, and other GOOD things that should be learned .
That is no more indoctrination than a President making an inspirational speech about staying in school. This happened in February and ALL the parents were sent home the lyrics in advance..
This smacks of more right wing OBAMABASHING”

"We must not forget those two great 'military gifts' that the US sent to Hiroshima and Nagasaki back in August of 1945. It allowed Japan to prosper to become the great economic force that they are today.!"

* * * The economy of Japan is the second largest economy in the world, after the United States at around US$5 trillion in terms of nominal GDP and third after the United States and People's Republic of China when adjusted for purchasing power parity.”
