“Rally around the trough, men!
If one looks closely, there is another portion of the budget that is holy and inviolate. This is our elected representatives salary, pension, and health benefits.
Wonder if the tone & tenor of the Scott Walker recall cheering might change if the ordinary taxpayer had a chance to 'reboot' this equation?”
“If Congress made some effort, if only symbolic, to trim it's salaries, health, and pension perks, perhaps it could then be believed that we all have skin in the game. Bad form to steam past the Titanic, slowing only to inquire if we might pass the Grey Poupon.”

“Nothing matters as long as politicians need to go begging to the wealthy for money to get elected. Nothing CAN change without public election financing. Getting mad at politicians is just subterfuge. They are a symptom not the disease. When a person can get elected to office without needing to raise lots of money, and naturally do favors for interests willing to fund them, THEN you can blame them. But now, that's just our political system. Designed by the wealthy for the wealthy.”
“Proof positive that truly it is ALL about the ratings and the resulting money. The only conservation in talk radio is of civility, and any sort of contribution short of stirring the pot from a safe distance.”
