“I voted for Obama, I like the idea of healthcare but not the way it's written. Experiences I've had based on the looming costs which has me VERY concerned.
a) Both my place of work (private sector) and my wife's work (school district) ~ advised "free healthcare" will rise costs. Both medical plans are being reduced. I'll have to pay $158 every two weeks to cover my kids ($4,108 yearly out of my pocket). She's told same, but hasn't been given an amount. We lose money, our budget is tighter, and we won't have dollars to spend so economy loses too.
b) Several friends are unemployed. Companies hiring limit to 30 hours a week to avoid health coverage due cost of the "affordable care act."
c) Business owner I call on, will fire 3 employees so he falls under the 50-person requirement. He's noted in bad economy he's barely keeping his head above water. He has NO choice and can't afford to rack up debt as margins are at minimum.
d) Two businesses told me they won't provide insurance as a benefit as the $1500 fine per employee is CHEAPER than what they pay for insurance.
This are real world things I am dealing with and I doubt I'm the only one. Needs to be rewritten.”
“It's simple. Break the law = Go to Jail. Don't break the law = stay out of Jail.
Why is it so hard for people to simply not obey the rules? I don't feel sorry for someone stupid enough to get their rear end tossed in prison. One comedian said, "Why do they get time off for good behaviour? They should have had that BEFORE and they wouldn't be in there! You don't kill, you don't rape, you don't steal. Is this that hard to understand?"
I know a lot of people, who like my Mother grew up dirt poor. None of them saw jail. They obeyed the rules. Worked their rear ends off to get out of poverty. I didn't grow up rich, I worked several jobs at once to put myself through school so I'd have an education so I could get a better job. Was it hard? Yes. Did I deny myself alot of "nice thiings." Yes. Did I ever steal or break a law? NO.
It's a matter of pride and integrity in what you do. It's a matter of having morals and ethics. So don't blame being poor, uneducated, etc. I have seen it. I have lived it.”

“If in fact you're robbing, raping, and murdering, then you belong in prison. The point here is that there are lots of things that are against the law which aren't really crimes, but can land you in prison nonetheless; i.e., victimless drug crimes.
What if laws were passed to confiscate all privately held firearms? To legitimize or delegitimize certain religions? What if it were made illegal to criticize our leaders, our government? Would you still be OK with people going to prison for breaking the law?”

“That's a total of 718,119 thousand documents. From the jeopardy he just exposed the soldier on the ground to ~ to the blow to efforts in negotiations with other countries is huge. He is an enemy of our country. He should have been found guilty on ALL charges.”

“Yes ! Guilty on all charges. Now, forward to Snowden ?”
“Biden running would be a joke. He sticks is foot in his mouth so often, he should have hoof and mouth disease by now. Plus, can we really afford $535K a night hotel jaunts in Paris? Heck, he might even make Hillary look palatable!!”
“And he said he's NOT a "dictator" ?????? Sure sounds like someone is winding up to pitch 180 degrees from that statement. At what point will people understand this administration is NOT moving in the best interest of the American people and American society as we know it?”
“How ironic that Obama wants Congress to agree 100% and won't negotiate and just blames them for his failures. A leader leads. The only thing he's leading is this country down a dark hole that it won't be able to buy its' way out of.”

“pf92079 Yes and manipulates facts to be able to blame it on Republicans. I understand that Congress passed a bill in order for him to pick where the deductions should be made. It was DOA he said he would veto it. He does not want to have his "fingerprint" on anything that he is doing to this country. He goes out campaigning all of the time, as to how HE is trying, but it is Congress (those wicked Republicans) are in his way. He is truly living up to his book.. "Dreams of my Father".. And the low information voters believe him.”
“How freaking true is that!!!! We've had a "pay freeze" for the last 3 years, benefits cut, etc. so we would have jobs. And these tools get a raise???? Since the government does run for a profit, and since it's not THEIR money, we've just been screwed people. We should have a recall for every elected official. I don't care WHAT party they are in. Thieves all of them!”
“She's making a smart choice. She wouldn't get elected, especially since we're adding $1 trillion a year to the deficit, so by the time she got her chance, she'd be inheriting not just the $15 trillion we have now, but $19 trillion when she gets her shot. No way she want to get stuck with that.”
“Unfortunately, news agencies are lacking in ethics, and never would question if it is morally right or wrong in their hunger to "sell" the news. They don't care about the family in any fashion as they justify they have to have the story first. CNN should be ashamed, but that would mean they have a conscience, which I truly doubt they have. News is no longer reported, it's slanted, and packaged to sell so they get the most viewers. And I don't care if it's CNN, Fox, MSN, etc.”

“If what they found the journal made Obama look good, you'd be singing a different story.”
kimmielea on Sep 23, 2012 at 12:17:28
“You are correct.....news agencies ARE lacking ethics. They have blatantly bent over backward to show Romney as a failure and Obama as perfect. While I don't agree with the handling of the journal by CNN, I am thankful this story has shown the White House for the incompetents that they are and have been for 4 years!”

“No. But it doesn't matter. I've met famous people before, friends with them, know them, but I don't go around picking them up off the ground. The President of the USA whether Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2 and Obama are the elected leader of the USA and should be treated with respect. Not like a buddy in the bar you're kicking back beers with. I don't think anyone runs around picking up Queen Elizabeth. While President isn't royalty, the position of the office needs to be treated with respect even if you agree or disagree with that particular President. That's all I'm saying.”
Sep 10, 2012 at 18:37:43
“I guess I'm old fashioned, regardless of left right middle....it's the President of the United States and he should be shown respect. I do not think lifting him off the ground in a bear hug is appropriate. Call me old fashioned, maybe. :)”
“"To take from one because it is thought that his own industry and that of his father’s has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association—the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it." - Thomas Jefferson”

“In answer to your question, lemme guess. Uhhhmmm, maybe to pay her respects to a loved one at her aunt's funeral, while hoping it can be just a fast trip in and out in order for her to be able to do that?”
lmb219 on May 30, 2013 at 13:03:17
“Ummm, guessing here, but....maybe for the funeral of an aunt, like the article states?”
DMChasmail on May 30, 2013 at 13:02:18
“Says right in the beginning that they were attending a funeral of a relative. The article above says it was her aunt's funeral. Perfectly understandable. Looks like they were hoping to attend the funeral and then come right back.”
fsugirl98 on May 30, 2013 at 13:01:59

“One of my friends had his mother shot, father beaten and family business burnt to the ground during the infamous "LA Riots". The only reason they weren't killed, is he used a semi-auto rifle to stop the gang members from going further. Maybe I should ask him to speak emotionally at one of these hearings. Oh wait, that's not what they want. They just want to disarm the average citizen. (And I'd still like to know why the Department of Homeland Security is going to buy 1.6 BILLION rounds of ammo. That's enough to shoot each "citizen" 5 times - men, women, children.).”
