Defriend Day Etiquette: Why It's OK To Unfriend On Facebook (POLL)

Commented Mar 5, 2011 at 11:05:20 in Technology

“Facebook also has a neat way of letting you know who stalks you. The program knows who checks your page and they usually put their updates first. It also suggests people that are not friends who visit your page often. Most of suggestions are due to shared friends, but if you don't have any friends in common and their profile shows up as a friend suggestion, that is a red flag.”

“I'd like to get my hands on that program.”

“So people willingly allow others on their "friends" list, and when that "friend" checks your page which is the intent of facebook, it's "stalking"? Ok. This society has officially gone off the deep end. This country is sick.”

Defriend Day Etiquette: Why It's OK To Unfriend On Facebook (POLL)

Commented Mar 5, 2011 at 10:57:34 in Technology

“Facebook is for casual acquaintances. I like it because if I ever need to contact anyone, I can. I do. I don't delete people unless they give me a reason to, and I do personally know all 400 of my friends. Not even all the people I know are on my Facebook. Just people I met in the past two years mostly. I kind of like that they can see what I am up to, and I never post anything I wouldn't mind the world knowing or that they are unable to find by googling my name. What you do need to be careful about is using your FB account on forums like these, because it uses your real name and then all your comments will pull up in a google search.”

“Thanks for that even though it's connected to my facebook I did not use my real name on huffpost so I googled both names and all my comments come up under my huffpost name but if someone knows me they can see my pics, I might disconnect from huffpost.”

Why Is Wal-Mart Selling Capitalism: A Love Story (Out Today on DVD)?

Commented Apr 3, 2010 at 12:40:59 in Business

“Mr. Moore,

I just watched your movie, and I believe the examples against "capitalism" you used are very poor. I think you are confusing capitalism with Neo-Conservative agenda. Most pro-capitalist Libertarians are also against Neo-Conservative agenda, and they use the same examples. The sub-prime mortgage system also started during the Clinton administration, a Democrat administration. A lot of our problems stem from regulation from the FDR period, and several economists have written articles on it. Most liberals know their news and I feel this movie is going to backfire on you. Liberals read, a lot. Also, I don't see why you are adapting film techniques from Alex Jones and insinuating efforts from the tea party have anything to do with pro-socialist types. I used to have a lot of respect for you. I may not have agreed with you, but I had respect for you. Everyone who hasn't lived in a cave for the past two years knows it was efforts from the tea party that blocked the bailouts. At least conservatives didn't take credit for the 60's. You should show the same respect. This is just plain lousy and backsided.”
