Sartre Meets Afghanistan: Obama's "No Exit" Strategy

“we MUST safe Afghanistan for the education of their girls and young women!
Arianna must consider this!”

“"we MUST safe Afghanistan for the education of their girls and young women!
Arianna must consider this!"

How about OUR children? We're pouring all of our treasure into a bottomless sinkhole, while OUR children drop out of school at a rate of 1,000,000, that's ONE MILLION, students per year.
We need to start addressing our own problems. Let the Afgans sink or swim on their own.”

Kenia110 replied on Dec 08, 2009 at 14:02:02

“While, like you, I grieve for the women in Afghanistan, war is not a charity. My eyes tear and I shake with rage when I think about the injustices that they suffer. As a woman and a human being, I take their abuse very personally, but there must be a different way.

I am not a pacifist by any means, and if we were dedicated to winning this war, I would be completely behind our continued struggle there, but to prolong the war in this half-measured way is to prolong the suffering caused by war. It is immoral.”

dansup replied on Sep 16, 2009 at 15:44:06

“that's nice for you 100,000 or so folks, but what about the rest of us? These important appointments should be made in part based on the number of constituents these senators represent - I'm tired of North Dakota, Montana and the like calling the shots in this way - these guys are far more susceptible to campaign $$'s from corporate coffers, since they can't raise any meaningful sums from so few constiuents at home.”

“Bozeman Montana here:
You don't speak for everyone in Montana any more than I do but In 2006, there were more than 504,000 people between the ages of 25 and 64 living in Montana. Of those, 18.8 percent
were uninsured. Uninsured Montanans are sicker and die sooner than their insured counterparts.
The insurance industry did not give him 3 million dollars to find ways to reduce their profits. They gave him 3 million dollars to protect their interests. What part of Quid pro quo don't you understand?”

treboi replied on Sep 16, 2009 at 10:20:11

“Lmfao! Bang up job he has done since our health care costs have almost trippled since 2003...don't act like Max if above selling out, he is no better than an other politician, but he is a lot worst than most b/c he is trying to prevent true health reform. My real question is why is this mountain man who represents .5% of the American population controlling the health care debate?”

BlueOnBlue replied on Sep 16, 2009 at 10:14:54

“So I guess that's why he has former insurance company execs on his staff, helping to write the legislation. Max just uses them so that he stays honest and without compromise.

Sure.”

tbone99 replied on Sep 16, 2009 at 10:13:06

How many Montanans did the insurance company have to deny to assist him in his dealings?”

“taxes are not important when no one is buying the product, republicans are just naieve and dumb”

Bjarni replied on Jul 14, 2009 at 14:48:20

“Taxing on products is not what is important. It's the taxing of Labor that is strangling the economy.

We have too many beurocracies, paying salaries for people who are in charge of directing money to different programs. When that money for the program would get there faster, without having the the beurocrat syphon off their piece of your wealth for his salary when you pay your real estate taxes. If Real Estate taxes, or Labor taxes were lower, more money would move around the economy quicker, without having to pay people to move the money.”
