“Auditing the FED will never become law. You want the likes of Bachman and company to be in charged of our country's monetary policies? You got to be kidding. Another MSM silly distraction that will never become law. All the sound and furor for nothing again.”

Anyhow, I think the good people of the USA should at hte least, as kucinich said to have the fed BACK under congress, as you know what the constitution says. Only the congress shall have permision to print money......but not sure if you care all that much about that. If the fed isunder congress at least we as citizens can hold the reps responsible.”

“Come, this is casting the net a little to wide. It was banks and lenders and dervitates that caused the housing collapse. Next we are going to start blaming home owners just like rethugs.”

FreeRange replied on Nov 15, 2009 at 19:53:56

“I'm sorry but you do also need to blame home owners. No one seems to be taking individual responsibility for spending beyond their means which is indeed one of the primary catalysts of this mess. Millions of people were buying homes they really couldn't afford and then took out home equity loans and second mortgages against them. This part of the story is not getting enough of the focus. Everyone seems to be pointing a finger at everyone else instead of all of us taking responsibility.”

Commented Nov 10, 2009 at 05:51:55 in Politics

“President Obama never gave a deadline for his decision. MSM have been trying to read the tea leaves and guess. Will it be before or after the run off election, will he announced before his trip to Asia since there is no run off election. The media knows nothing. Last thing Obama said on camera was weeks ago to NBC and stated that he might make a decision before the runoff election but may not announce it before the runoff election in afghan. Last week he asked for 4 additional options. He has not received them yet.”

“Most private insurance doesn't cover abortions only in case of rape, incest and the mother's health. The Hyde law gave the private insurance companies another reason to opt out of covering abortions in a basic plan. Only cadillac plans like the ones union have, have abortions apart of their basic plan. A women would have had to attached a rider to her current insurance plan but most women don't think hey someday I might have an abortion.

What happen last week was the pro choice side thought they could be sly and weaken the Hyde Law in the House Rules Committee by letting women who will receive federal funding in the form of subsidies in the healthcare exchange get abortion coverage as part of their basic plan.

The Catholic Council of Bishops and other pro lifers balked. So Stupak went for the throats and got his amendment in. 60 plus pro life Democrats including the Hispanic Caucus supported this bill.

I am pro-choice but I see this as pro-choicers over reaching by trying to slip something by and the pro lifers over reaching in opposition. Now it will be up to Pappa Obama to settle the fight in conference.

This just reminds me of an old saying: Don't go reaching for the salt unless you have enough hands to grab it.”

Actually the word is the complete opposite of what you are claiming. Namely they wanted all abortions banned and hyde destroyed so no abortions would be funded.

Many insurance plans have no qualms about covering abortions since very few people know that abortions are indeed covered so most women who have them don't have them claimed and pay out of pocket. So for the insurance companies they know they are't going to pay out money on them.”

It's the economy and change stupid! Just as 2008 was against the incumbent so shall 2010 be. It doesn't matter if you are Dem/Rethug if you are seen as for the special interests and not the people (universal healthcare) you are in trouble. I like how the media is spinning this as a vote against Obama even though the voters in the exit poll said no. Even Chris Mathews said he didn't believe what the voters said. Same thing he said in the presidential election that voters were lying to pollsters about voting for Obama because Chris believed the Bradley effect. I say that Obama won were it counted, adding one more Dem to Congress. He is the one who enigineered Owens win by putting the republican congressman from the district in his cabinet. And Biden was like glue on Owens side.”

And the Rethugs that did when were not Palinistias and wanted nothing to do with that crowd. They are sheep in wolves clothing acting all moderate but conservative to the core.

I'm so glad immigration reform will be on the table intime for the midterms. If people thought the Sonia Sotomayor nomination brought out the crazies, we haven't seen nothing yet. Good way to get Hispanics to the polls in an off year elections where they usually don't work. Now Obama needs to figure out how to get blacks and youths back out.”

“This just validates what I've been saying all along. The country is centrist and us progressive should stop attacking Obama at every turn. There are more independents than Democrats and Rethugs. We need to stop screaming, whiney and complaining that change hasn't come overnight. Obama is laying the New Foundation and we should support his methodically course. We progressive can not win with a rapid turn to the left that would scare alot of fellow democrats and all independents. Plus this democracy is not a microwable democracy and change doesn't happen over night. Go re read Obama' election night speech. "The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there."

Remember let's not go the Palin/Beck route like Ed Schultz did last Friday. Look how the Rethugs won the 2 governor's races- they are sheep in wolves clothing acting like moderates and distancing themselves from the Palin crowd. The way we are going we are going to force Obama to turn away from the liberal base too. Blacks, Hispancis and youth don't like us attacking Obama. And the youth especially don't like all the confrontational ways liberals express themselves.”
