Before It's Too Late

Do you think Sarah will ever get close to winning a Nobel or maybe even speaking in complete sentences? I think not.”

Why the Palin "Hate Affair" Will Backfire

Why the Palin "Hate Affair" Will Backfire

Commented Nov 21, 2009 at 09:40:59 in Politics

“A true feminist would never support a woman for anything substantial unless she is fully qualified. That would be stupid and degrade the feminist movement for obvious reasons. I supported Hillary Clinton. She was intelligent and obviously qualified. Sarah Palin is the exact opposite of Senator Clinton. I will never support anyone who is not qualified. NEVER and how dare you suggest this. That would put feminism back to the starting block.”

mitsu63 on Nov 21, 2009 at 13:49:22

“Yes I agree. I do not see myself in this article. When Hillary was a candidate I supported her, although I also thought Barack Obama might be good, too. I was mainly concerned about who would be electable. But as soon as Sarah Palin was put forward and I found out about her, I immediately most emphatically did not support her! Why? Because her positions would put us back 20 years. That's not progress, that's being a slave to one's womb!”

clevelandchick on Nov 21, 2009 at 10:17:26

“Exactly. My God....Palin as some sort of feminist icon? The woman who charged rape victims for their forensic kits? The woman that called HRC a 'whiner'?”

A Sign of the Times

“What the people who say, "I want my country back!" fail to realize that it isn't just their country. It is all of our country. All of us: Americans one and all, whites, blacks, Indians, Asians, Muslims, hispanics, etc. etc. Grow the hell up. You people aren't the only ones living here and "your" America is gone with the wind.”

No, Not My America, You Mean Our America

Commented Aug 29, 2009 at 21:32:58 in Healthy Living

“Having lived my childhood in Appalachia, I get it. As an adult, I have moved to Northern Virginia, and I have found it intoxicating to get to know so many different people and hear their stories and points of view. Yes, indeed, we all have something beautiful to contribute. It's amazing how we are all so different, but so very much the same. Thank you for writing what you did...so eloquently.”

“"It's amazing how we are all so different, but so very much the same"

I agree. It's not just about the color- and ethnic-specific differences that make us stand out (how we look, how we're treated, etc.), Indeed, they are powerful and real.

But, it's also about the color- and ethnic-neutral commonalities that connect us. The "my America crowd" just doesn't understand this. And it appears many just don't want to. Very unfortunate.”
