“AGAIN..it's not barely surviving, it's a bona-fide HIT.
It's name actually works against it...Courtney is the only cougar on the show, and she has already kicked the boy-toy to the curb & clearly has the hots for her age-appropriate neighbor (who's always bedding super-young bimbettes & Courtney constantly makes fun of that..which kinda balances the cougar angle).
It's not revolutionary, but it's quirky & 'new'...not a formulaic sitcom. Her ex-husband lives on a crappy boat in some parking lot...her kid is one of the funniest & best utilized sitcom kids on TV...her 2 best friends who hate each other are both great.
The only down is Christa Miller...one of my favorite comedic actresses...and being constantly reminded that she's mutilated her face with too much collagen AND botox around the mouth. It's not an exaggeration...her mouth looks EXACTLY like that of the Jack Nicholson "Joker" from the old Batman movie.
My wife & I don't watch a lotta sitcoms, but this one is original and devilishly, laugh-out-loud funny (so is it's Wednesday ABC partner, Modern Family, for that matter..but that's another story).”
