“If you go by this guy's story, all the club had to do was change their status from EXclusive to INclusive all those years ago. I find it hard to believe that they've been in the red for over a decade.”

“What was that line about being made in God's image? Wow, I didn't know that He thought his cup size was too small.... Maybe the Christian women with implants know something that the rest of the world doesn't.”

“Well, the city can always revoke the charity organization's right to manage those shelters, then. Get 'em outta there! If they don't want to do God's work, then let a secular group do it. I have seen more Christ-like behavior from many who don't attend church than from many who claim to be "good Christians". This is a glaring example of that.”

Who in their right mind would allow any child near an Uzi, much less allow them to USE it? At the age of 8, a BB gun would have been a better choice (with sufficient adult supervision). Of course that familiar sentence would ring out, "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"

The only kids I've ever heard of using weapons like this were the ones forced into wars in other countries. An Uzi isn't made for sport shooting, it's made to kill people. Lots of people. It's really sad that the family had to find this out the hard way and ever sadder still that the father can't bring himself to admit that he allowed this to happen.”

“I totally agree with you. However, I live in an area where property tax is pretty high, yet our district's budget is FROZEN at the 2005-2006 level. Why? I have no freaking idea. A few of us do what we can to help the teachers out when it comes to the most basic of classroom needs (pens, tissue, etc.) because with their salaries, they're already paying out of pocket to make sure that all of their kids have the essentials. Sad but true.”

“If all of the billions spent on lobbying were put toward new jobs, health care, etc., how would our country be doing right now?”

“It's sad that some fashion industry people don't think that these super skinny models aren't skinny enough. Maybe they should become doll makers instead. At least then the ridiculous body shapes could have some sort of validation and the clothing really would come in one size.”

“I was gonna say.... Or maybe the lack of advertising dollars is *really* getting to him at long last.”

“Also, earlier this year my son had a hypoglycemic episode that required an ambulance ride to the hospital. Because of an error in the emergency room (they had my son's birthdate and my husband's name as the patient), we had some wrangling to do with the insurance people. During the wrangling, we came to find out that the error repeated itself on the ambulance's forms, too. Good times.”

“My son got his 1st job last winter and his employers offered health insurance after 120 days. He started paying into the system when the 120th day came around only to find that because of a preexisting condition (diabetes since the age of 18 months), he wouldn't actually get to use the insurance for another 6 months! He ended up losing the job 2 months before he was able to receive the care that he had been paying for.

Thank goodness for my husband's insurance. My son had been insured all along but he wasn't sure if he wanted to attend college or not. Well, the loss of his job helped his decision and he's still under his Dad's policy. He's gotten another job since then and will be able to get health insurance (again) after 90 days. Will he get the 6 month treatment again? Probably. It won't be a bother, though. As long as he's in school, he'll be covered for another 5 years.”

It is not an aristocracy. It is a "corporatocracy". As long as corporations are recognized as individuals when it comes to campaign funding and as long as corporations are allowed to give "gifts" to lawmakers through lobbying, we will continue to lose while they continue to live fat.”

“Maybe that was the President's plan all along. We the People need to stop taking the doo-doo at face value and start using our brains for a change.

People are going to say what they want to about President Obama, but his hands are tied as long as the House and Senate (all parties, not just the red side) continue to sit in corporate pockets. The information is out there. It is up to us to bring it to light.”
