“Forgive my attempt at making the point that there are many supporters, bi-partisan included, of our President. McCain isn't Presidential material, proven, voted against, etc., but he still has many opinions that are valid and respected. Sorry I even used it as an olive branch to Republicans that oppose our President. peace”

“You will be proven to be wrong...ou r kids' kids will read the truth about the past 8 and the coming 8 years, if we can survive it like our parents and grandparents did. It took YEARS to overcome the Great Depression, how easy it is to type and whine and complain.”

“You are really serious?? No one, and I mean no one with a brain, expected this man to be able to do half of what he has attempted, not even in an "effin year". It will take many, many years to dig out of the dump that was created long before he took his oath on Jan. 20th 2009. So, who do you propose here; I'm guessing there are a lot, and I mean a LOT, of anti-Americans on this blog that need to get a life and go away and whine somewhere else, cause we got some work to do, and one man cannot do it alone, especially in a year. Get a grip, and look at history, the big depression, look how long it took, over 8 years.”

“You know what? This is it...last comment, why don't YOU try doing that job. Huh? How would you like to see your dreams, diluted, criticized because it is not a perfect world. We should all be turning our focus to the dream, the beautiful, wonderful dream that we all have pictured for years, of future peace, the globe returning to its natural, green, state; people, united, in some kind of way that , yes, may be a dream, but is spoken from a good place, not from a cynical place. No one can do all that alone..... but maybe, just maybe, if the ones that believe, that pray, that are true to our country and all that it stands for, can do it TOGETHER. But, I suppose the cynics on here rule today. go ahead, and read the history books when you are 90 years old and see what really is happening now. I weep for all of us.”

“What is wrong here??? Last year, we all had hopes and they are still alive; you belong somewhere else, turncoat, along with the others. What, you would rather have the alternative up there, making the very same decisions? Shame on all of you that are so critical, and, so fast, yes, it started after he was in office after only a month; our dreams are still real. Maybe he has to temper them, like we all do, when we are looking at our kids' lives in war, poor people without anything, and naysayers like you, get out of here and find another blog. p.s. don't you even watch the news? McCain himself endorses this brilliant man's decisions.”

“Lord help you, if you were really on board, so to speak, and voted for Obama, and now speak of Sarah Palin as an alternative that is somehow better than an intelligent, driven, out-spoken from the heart (and i mean that), desiring help for the down-trodden, the jobless, the ones without health care; planning our next military moves, with our sons and daughters' lives in his hands; how can you even show your face like this? An embarrassment to our country.”

“Yes, like what you said here, and ending with the fact that he is indeed threatened all the time. Recently, I heard the fact that his life has been threatened some 400 times more than Pres. John F. Kennedy. He is our future; he is doing a lot, fast; he, himself, said in his last address, that the date 2010 was the deadline year for making many of the moves he took on early! I agree: I believe in him, we all need to support him, our country, our soldiers, our decisions as a nation, please, for God's sake, support health care reform, and let's do it while we can all live to witness history, again, in the making. Peace.”

“Fascinating tactic. Find an outstanding candidate and run them in a district with diametrically opposed political views.
I am pleased the Democrats are finding candidates of character finally; a significant difference to the hacks currently in Congress that are an international embarrassment.”

"NO ONE on here opposes health care reform!
NO ONE."
Really? Hmm. That's not what the insurance industry seems to be saying. And same goes for the fat-cat politicians like Joe Lieberman (representing Connectiut - the insurance company capital of the world - wonder how much is in his pockets?)
Yes, they oppose health care reform. In ANY form. They haul in huge amounts of bucks (hey, it wasn't selling french fries that got Humana that massive headquarters) from charging people ridiculous amounts of money and then denying coverage to AMericans who otherwise DIE without it.
You do disrespect Veronica and her family. You do disrespect other Americans who are suffering and dying needlessly. You ARE a shill for the insurance industry. You don't care about the Constitution. You don't care about democracy. You don't care about freedom. Let's face it, you don't care about much, do you?
Be gone with you.”

“Ignorant. Obama is working hard for the regulation and maintenance of nuclear arms, that is including(you used this example) N. Korea (they set off what can be interpreted as air strike-practice, and we now have them before the world as being cut off, nada, no shipping lanes to them);millions are losing homes due to loans made under Bush's reign; health care is on the table, support it, Obama is fulfilling many dreams of history, starting back with the Kennedys; Done nothing? You obviously do nothing along the line of listening to any journalist, unless they are on Fox news, and you certainly are spreading lies. Personally, it is an insult to our President, and don't hide behind the fact that racism is alive and well, and that he uses that as a defense. He is much too brilliant of a man for that. Oh, and who took us to Afghanistan, via Iraq??? Surprise, surprise, surprise.”

We love our country, and no one is suggesting anything you just wasted your time writing, so give it up. Leaving our post world-wide? What a stupid thing to even think. “I agree that criminals need to be taken to ICC, the UN should step in, and that one man cannot do this. The atrocities occurring in Afghanistan need to be stopped. Sounds like no one has the answer, doesn't it? No one wants war. Obama doesn't want war. So, Americans, what are the answers here? Leave them? Or support our meager troops in outposts attacked; I believe Obama has a plan, and it should be done within the limitations of advice from his General, the UN, and the globe. Peace.”

“Well said; this will make sense and ultimately will be the right choice(s). Obama has done more for this country, the world, and the down-trodden than anyone alive at this time. He deserves this award, and it is given as an encouragement and a sign that he is moving in the right direction. One only needs to travel to foreign countries, as my family has done, to see the positive difference in our reception as Americans; it wasn't that way for 8 years. He speaks with foreign leaders; he wants to inspire us all to help one another, even world-wide, because it cannot be done by one man. He is a great man with incredible integrity, and history will certainly reveal the kind of leader with foresight he is. ( this doesn't even describe his greening of the world and moving forward on health care reform, much to his opponents chagrin, while people are suffering and dying due to inadequate health care). Congratulations, Mr. President. You make us proud to be American today!”

Bet you like dumb blonde jokes, too....I have news for you....I lived in the "North", and the town I lived in for 3 years was full of all-white, ignorant, prejudiced, people, too...they are everywhere. That was in Texas. Where thinking is considered "weird."”

“And where I'm from?
Well, I live in Boston, home to Harvard, MIT, Boston College, etc. Intelligence, education, and being highly literate is more highly valued here than anywhere else I have lived in the United States (though still doesn't compare to the value foreigners put on education in most other countries I've lived in or been to). Not that there aren't plenty of things about Boston I don't like, and not like there aren't any ignorant people in Boston.
Boston has a lot of problems, but it's nice to live in a place where you can reference Herodontus or Schroedinger or Heraclides at a party and people know what the heck you're talking about, and your conversations aren't limited to whatever reality programming was on TV that week.”

“read my above add on comment. This was only an example (evolution as it is understood in the south). There are plenty of people who aren't creationists who aren't any more intelligent.
Stupid people live every where and are not exclusive to region, religion, or political party. It is an American phenomenon.
Though the problem with the South is this, intelligence is not VALUED. Women professionals such as myself or female friends I had were constantly put down, especially by men, as being "unsubmissive" and "upity" and "elite" for having a job in a scientific field, and for having read a book or two in our lives.
But still, even in places where intelligence IS considered a positive attribute, that doesn't mean it's on display.”
