VIDEO: Senator Ted Kennedy's Address to Alaskans

Commented Aug 28, 2009 at 05:12:16 in Politics

“Prophetic of the current apathy, and even more hate. Ironically the same opportunity to create a milestones of social equality and justice through awakened social consciousness - with even more audacity! As we think, imagine solutions; look at the examples of other nations, listen to facts, we resist the apathy, and ignorance, and become the solution.

Rest in Peace Senator Kennedy. Hopefully your passing will cause the apathetic to take a peek behind the Wizard's curtains and see the tiny 1% minority/cult of conglomerates that own the mass media while calling itself Liberal - disgracing their Charter as Republican or Blue Dog Democrats for the greed of big Oil, Coal, Banks, etc. That is the industrial military complex.

Knowing the cause of the problem, provides the level of action necessary to restore the Constitution. Checking facts, would in itself, set the dynamics in motion for us to "throw the bums out", and rapidly achieve our potential as a true Democracy and not as the current deregulated Oligarchy (rule by a small class), controlling us through reduced access to education and creating debt.”

“Thank You. I was thinking this and of tracking the issues of holistic perspective of national infrastructure. I was disappointed that there was no mention of that or exactly who is responsible for releasing the money to where. Waste of time to confirm that wherever our agenda is present, you find wall street, slave labor enterprises, oil, insurance and pharmaceutical's stolen tax payer dollars.

I too consider GOP and Health Care Public Option, Climate Change sell outs, more significant by far this month.

The dynamics of spin seems to be effecting the base in a way that leans away from the practical use of our voice as apposed to money.

“This is now typical of 1% who own the media and 98%of the nation's wealth. It's so old its cleche' - distract from vital information on issues, ignore the President's perspectives, and replace it with sensationalized, talking points, get the ratings and milk them for all their worth.

Considering the sponsors who pay for their programming are Oil, Insurance, Pharmaceuticle Companies, Big banks, and other Lobbying organizations who are against the President's policies, no one in their right mind should be listening to much of anything they have to say about current events.

This kind of biased spin and "cherry picking" irrelavent statements is common. It highlights my observation that the only reason the tv and cable media ever supported Obama was when the masses got tired of them leaving out and misrepresenting vital information in favor of their sponsor's interests. We left them in droves and went to the internet for authentic journalism. Only then did they begin reporting a more accurate truth. But after the election they went back to the same old biased tricks and scams.”

“I find it most effective to address issues concerning faiths and culture the same way one would any other issue - BY UNDERSTANDING IT.
Any Christian knows that he or she (despite the rhetoric) must side with the oppressed, the poor and downtrodden. That champion for the last 70 years has been (by far) the Democratic party. Here is some impeccable impartial economic fact evidence: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/31/business/31view.html?_r=1&em&oref=slogin
The majority of Republicans betrayed us long ago, and make no secret of their desire to increase their oppression today. Christians are bound by the Bible to support the Jews as "God's chosen people." Those who support an end to Israel would be damned by God for going against him. Ironically the Muslim and Jew were born fraternal twins - Jacob is Jesus ancestor and Esau is Islam's. They were both born of the same womb and seed, (Sarah and Abraham) and have been fighting over the "Chosen People" birth right (stolen by Jacob via his mother) ever since. So for me its not a matter of what they said its what they did. GoBama Biden!!!!!”

scobamagirl replied on Sep 07, 2008 at 22:05:45

“I think you might be a little confused. Jacob and Esau were Issac's twin sons. The two lines of religion were from Abraham's sons - Isaac (born of Abraham's wife Sarah) is a progenitor of the Jewish and Christian line and Ishmael (born of the slave girl, Hagar) is Islam's. Depending on which religion is speaking, one son was born from a promise or covenant with God, the other was simply born of the flesh and carries no promise from God.

I'm not aiming this at you Profound, but I find the whole thing a rather silly excuse for why we all can't just get along, each with our own beliefs. We'll find out who's right in the afterlife.”

“I Love You Huffington Post!! I Love You Huff Post Bloggers!! You GET IT!! I just wish I saw these types of responses in areas that the right is taking over on the net: You Tube, My Space, Face Book etc. In my short time surfing (5 months) I find myself alone in posting responses to obvious lies about our purposes and our candidates. The only reason that I see for our current rise is that mass media outlets realize, that they are loosing the faith of the public, by way of their overt attacks on our party and despicable refusal to broadcast POSITIVE, FACTUAL, MULTIFACETED 'TRUTH' of Senator Obama's and Biden's positions, education, service, accuracy and truth. Not to mention Barak's 'experience density' regarding 'Righteous' causes as compared to McCain's lack thereof.

I totally agree with Mr. Rosen's summation. it is worthy of copying and memorizing to properly frame public addresses. I submit that the BOOM should be contained in a concise detailed soliloquy containing minute technical details of senator Obama's economic, foreign affairs, Global warming and health care solution proposals.”

We More Than "Stumbled" On Hope This Week

“I worked on a construction project like you in Ethiopia. Many villagers were hopeless, suspicious and their country was at war with Eritrea. The materials were delayed over a month, and my superiors downgraded the project completion estimate to one half. But we were inspired by the faces of those orphans, the poverty and destitution in which they lived, contrasted by their profound respect for OUR well being, we "BELIEVED" we could complete the project regardless of what our superiors thought.

Not only did we complete it, I personally put a coat of stucco on the entire building. My very survival is a chain of similar events. But People like YOU, I'm sure, have never had that kind of experience. Therefore you caste everything in the same dank mildew as your own life. I pity you. I am a Black man, only son, raised by a single parent in the worst ghetto in America (Fort Apache) South Bronx - SURVIVED five muggings, Knife at my throat, gun to my head, cross fires and more. All before I was even 17 yrs old. My twenty years in the military were filled with covert and overt racist attack and abuse. But unlike you, I know what is possible when people are brought into one accord. "Simper Fidelis" is the foundation of our military and Special Forces. I will pray for your enlightenment, even if you cannot conceive of a power greater than yourself or rise to a level higher than your arrogance.”

But I do not know what that has to do with my post. In my post I was simply trying to make the point that to truly assess someone at face value who wants your vote you really need to get beyond the hoopla of a convention event. Everyone here is "hoping" that Obama (and John McCain) is painting an accurate picture of himself. History suggests that is not entirely the case. It is not so much a knock on Obama specifically as it is a knock on politicians in general.”

“NOT QUALIFIED? The Energy Commission, Economists, Federation of Nurses, AARP, Unions, Firefighters, and Iraq's Prime Minister give Obama's policies a 90 to one approval rating over McCain. (a) Barack’s Condensed Bio - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama
. Barack actually helped write a lot of what America is crying out that it needs. I don't know any one in history with those credentials. So what is your reason??? Enlighten us.
During the first eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.
HE INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING:
233 regarding health care reform;
125 on poverty and public assistance;
112 crime fighting bills;
97 economic bills;
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills;
21 ethics reform bills;
15 gun control; and
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006--became law,
Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat
Reduction Act--became law,
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act--passed the Senate,
The 2007 Government Ethics Bill--became law,
The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill is In committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1,096. In 26 years McCain can't compare. "The Experience Fallacy," http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12290.html

“AWESOME COMMENT HA-HAA-AA!! I just hope that we realize that this battle and that attitude needs to be applied on many fronts but continue to display a lazer like precision of steadfast balance between offense and defensive postures. Its not the dollars, its the truth energized application of talents/ gifts/ commitments and love! Shalom, Hotep, Ah Salaam Aleikum. We have a choice of what kind of "globalization" and as they all said the choice is ours. I personally have experienced multiple rebirths this year. I thank God for the experience. But if we do not unleash whatever we consider to be power, in UNITY, we will not be able to stand. Obama's almost a savaat channeling his talents by the currents the masses feed him, although only a man, he's chosen to be nurtured by the righteous ones, thank God. And THAT will stagnate (if not convert) even gluttons. As implicated in the story of Lady Rothschilds, the dynamics of pride proven false, places them in an uncompromising position. We need to expose the nuances of the records now, just as they have begun to do - and the 26 year tally.”

“I agree 100% that Offense is a real necessity.
1) the McCain/ Rove/ Media machine offense relentlessly places itself in advantageous positions (in the media and on the web) - anticipates what we do, overwhelms us as we do it, and leaves us reeling back on our heels in defense while they mount the next offense.

2) Counter attack - "channeling" truth based inspiration into passionate, articulate, responses attacking lies with evidence, disecting relevance, fear and 3) DEMAND they answer - PURSUE THEM - Analyze THEIR POST PATTERNS. EXPOSE THEM!!! I find them to be just lonely misguided human beings who think they are justified. That is until 4) BOMBARD THEIR FALSE INFORMATION WITH TRUTH: OBAMA'S RECORD, THE BILLS HE WROTE, CO-AUTHORED AND HELPED PASS -'DETAILS' OF HIS ECONOMIC, ENERGY, WAR, POLICIES, DETAIL COMPARISONS BETWEEN HIM, MCCAIN AND POLICIES 90% APPROVAL RATINGS TO MCCAIN'S ZERO'S and "THAT" usually clinches it.
Other offensive weapons include the "Experience Myth" (i copped from Mr Vogals Blog), Web sites for workers rights, and statistical data

That is our turf - our real strength (all we really need if you ask me) is to stop limiting our discourse to each other.
We are giving them free riegn of the internet while they overwhelm members of our party from the inside and out.

Need motivation? Return to the roots, "REALITY" of unemployment, environment, war, dead troops, slave labor underclass, inferior education, Job export, oil dependence etc”

“I was just passing by and noticed this article. It highlights justifiable concerns but when I read the comments I wonder just what empirical evidence there is to support the observations made by both the writer and the responders. I just came away feeling that I can't determine the truth of it. That in itself has opened my sensitivity towards the subject and inspired me to be more aware of the progress of our campaign. PS - I loved the response that offered guidance to the organizers and perspective on the Obama strategy for reaching all the states. I hope that the Move On representatives that were there gave the supporters the same guidance and encouraged them to read these articles, and use this site and "MyBo" and respond. If he or she did, what was the response? Did the rep have access to the net? I believe that whenever I site a wrong, that I should be able to finish with what offers or suggestions I contributed to that immediate situation to make it right. Not just write.”

“Empirical data (not to be confused with experimental data) collection is based on the reporter's direct observation of physical phenonoma or the reported direct experience of others, relayed without trying to restrict or in many cases even to relate the data to preconceived theoretical, philosophical or ideological frameworks. That is good journalism, giving the empirical facts, leaving the interpretive frameworks up to you. I appreciate your demanding it.

Photographs back up my eyewitness descriptions of the poorly identified, isolated Louisville Democratic Party headquarters and its lack of Obama materials. Eyewitness accounts first from me on the lack of information that the Obama campaign and Louisville Democratic campaigns had on each other when I called them, then from Mr Atherton (who when he called the Kentucky state Democratic headquarters also encountered its inability to say even where its Louisville headquarters was located) are further corroborated by Ms. Crawford's detailed on the ground observations. Ms. Crawford's own allegations were backed up by binders and documents in the campaign headquaters (and the visible lack of Obama materials.)”

“So to continue from above, yes I am disappointed the Obama campaign has not focused here. They did put resources in here in the primary, and I understood him not coming here in the spring, to a place where he was pulling 12% to 17% of the vote in most counties. McCracken Co., where Paducah is, was barely 30%.

I do wish he would consider the Fancy Farm Picnic in the fall as it is rich with tradition in the state and considered a pretty important event. It really would make a difference with the local politicians, who imho are immature in their attitudes about not being willing to work for him if he doesn't come here.

I also think that in view of the fact that Kentucky elected a Democratic governor last fall and the anti-Bush sentiment out there, he should not totally write this state off, particularly the part of the state that isn't eastern Kentucky, i.e. central and western, and he would at least be building his overall popular vote total. I believe there are a lot of votes to be had here, despite the obvious problems of racism and muslim smear believers.”

kyunschooler replied on Jul 03, 2008 at 22:38:57

“I live in western Kentucky. I was responsible for GOTV in my county during the primary. When the campaign office in Paducah left, they told us to continue on our own. There has not been support or interest from the established Democratic party leaders. Our county does not plan to open a Democratic headquarters and people who want yard signs, buttons etc. are told to order them online. I have purchased a few things myself and sold them at cost, and plan to probably do a big order for the Fancy Farm Picnic, which is a pretty big Democratic event in August and do the same. One of my volunteers that lives on a highway who has a yard sign has had people stop and tell her they couldn't find any Democratic headquarters in our county and they wanted to know how to get a yard sign.

I am planning on doing voter canvassing and registration on my own, and I am slowly getting some other volunteers on board. I just announce I am "with Vote for Change" and I'm trying to find volunteers in each neighborhood to help with GOTV. We have a very large African-American population in our county seat that has NEVER been involved in local politics, and I plan to see that they have a chance to be involved this time. There is a local candidate running for State Senate that has told us that when he opens his office we can use it.”

That subliminal seduction technique rewards positive achievements of McCain /Bush while using dull and boring commentary about Obama. Lots of "McCain Slams Obama" and "Obama answers” or “touts Bush’s help thy neighbor “approach." Unlimited spending and right wing control of major mass-media subliminal devices are immune to the limits of "Public Funding" that was McCain tried to maneuver Obama into signing.
