“Fact: amino acids are found in meteorites that have landed on earth. Amino acids are the building blocks of life. We don't need to continue to believe that a god started life on this earth. We have sufficient evidence that life came from space and started on it's own. Let's put the whole "concept" of god on the shelf besides all the other failed hypothesis.”

Adam Bomb replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 07:22:31

“Just because it's plausible that God didn't create life like ZAP! (my belief as well), it doesn't mean God doesn't exist. People are more and more coming to realize that God and Science can be perfectly in harmony with each other, we just have to change our view of what God could be.”

The Women of Tiger Woods

“"At the moment, though, I care a bit more about what it says about a society that still gathers in the town square to watch a hanging. Maybe instead of all the finger wagging and 'Shame on him," there needs to be a little "Shame on us.'"

I couldn't agree more. America is indeed the land of hypocrites and people in this country love to judge and throw stones. Yet if we take a microscope to every one's lives, we will find many skeletons and a lot of immoral behavior from the very people who are doing the harshest judging.”

Coincidentally they (Israel) have enough nuclear weapons to wipe us all out several times over.”

The U.S. Christian Right and the Attack on Gays in Africa

Commented Dec 11, 2009 at 07:17:36 in World

“I'm right there with you Don. We do have a fight on our hands. We need to start with every public - state school board. Supporters of creationism need to go. Supporters of evolution need to be elected. We did that here in Ohio on the state level. We need to fight them from dumbing down America further.”

fr33d0mhawk replied on Dec 11, 2009 at 08:58:58

“Yes, we do need to fight the dumbing down of America, or even worse, the Ugandafication of America, whereby gun toting militias are the norm.”

The U.S. Christian Right and the Attack on Gays in Africa

Commented Dec 11, 2009 at 07:12:30 in World

“You are right. The only way to combat religious ignorance is to educate people and to get them to think critically. However, we can't even do that in THIS country because of the Christian Right and their war on science. The Bush Administration cut science nearly out of it's budget and falsified scientific reports on Global Warming. He created the Faith Base Initiatives so millions of tax payers' dollars get funneled to "religious charities"...yeah right! Like that happened! That money when to organizations like The Discovery Institute and Temple Foundation which are behind the push for creationism being taught in public schools. How are we to combat ignorance in the world if we can't even make a dent in the U.S.? Only 40% of people in the U.S. accept Evolution as a fact! We are second to last in a list of 33 countries (with only Turkey below us) that accept Evolution. Our country is filled with idiots who don't want to learn. Religion is the main reason.”

“Who is going to force the food-producing companies to take responsibility for their actions? Our government? I think not. Lawyers? Maybe 50 years ago but not today, mainly thanks to caps on tort awards. Thanks to the repugs, you are going to see less and less lawsuits forcing these companies to be safer. So they have no reason to stop using proven cancer/illness causing substances when making/packaging food.”

Granted, I didn't grow enough to feed us for any length of time; but it was nice to have fresh tomatoes, green beans, peas and squash when we wanted it.”

Angelaaaa replied on Sep 06, 2009 at 22:47:12

“Yes, it is just a story and, no, it didn't really happen. But, like so many other stories that never happened, it has a profound effect on gender relations - for no other reason that people believed that it did and felt entitled to act upon those beliefs.

The ability of human beings to justify the oppression of their fellow man or woman should never be underestimated.”
