“This simply will not happen. There was a huge outcry to boycott Chic-Fil-A after their perceived anti-gay marriage stance. What actually happened? Their profits went through the roof. And they remain profitable to this day. And all of the other fast food places you mentioned also pay ridiculously low wages and have very poor healthcare among their employees, the majority of which are part-time and won't be eligible for insurance.
The "public" are nothing but sheep. They will graze where it's cheapest. Period. The vast majority of the public simply doesn't give a flying-rats-ass about what a fast food place is doing. White Castle will keep going as it always has. And if you think White Castle is unique in trying to get around Obamacare? LOL. The list now stands at over 200 major companies that are scaling back hours or cutting their staffs in response to Obamacare. Our "president" has done nothing but increase the number who will be dropping below the poverty line. Just wait and see. Chaos is on the horizon.”

“Mars is NOT a candidate for colonization. The dust that covers the surface is actually a toxic chlorine mix. It is so fine that it cannot be kept out of even the most secure, sealed habitat. It is lethal to humans. That, combined with the lack of a sufficient magnetic field makes it near impossible to leave people on it's surface for any length of time. We should be focusing our resources on a colony inside the moon so we can use it as a launching point for ships that would mine the asteroid field. Mars is just a waste of time and the proof that life existed there is irrelevant.”

“Understanding ourselves is irrelevant given that the vast majority of humanity simply does not care. The money used on this project would have been better spent here on earth.
So much of this is must unnecessary because it just has no bearing on day to day life of the average person. Voyager's instrumentation is too primitive to yield anything of practical use. And that's what it comes down to. Money spent on space exploration that has actual practical use, such as perfecting systems for mining the asteroid field, or setting a permanent colony on the moon, these have practical use. Projects that yield information just for the sake of "knowing", is a waste of money. Voyager's data may yield data that would be of use a few hundred years from now, but we will destroy our planet long before then. Mankind will never make it out there. We have already doomed ourselves here on earth.”

Besides, you have no idea what it could turn up. These things have nuclear reactors on them. That's not exactly primitive technology.”

“So what is the answer? The Middle East openly discriminates against non-muslims. Muslims come to America and try to do it here. What else is there that can be done? If you have a better idea, I'm all ears. But "dialogue" simply doesn't work. The only thing they understand is what they seem to be very good at....violence.
And I am also of the belief that English should be the national language. Other countries, western countries, do it, why can't we?”
“Not for me to deal with. I'll be long dead by then. And true, there will be a day when there are no Christians, or muslims...etc., etc. But, until then I and the millions of Americans who share the same view, will be there to keep it from happening.
America will not follow this evolution. There is simply too much at stake.”
ItsJustKathleen on May 31, 2013 at 00:55:13
“If you will be long dead and dont have to deal with it, they why bother and be a narrowminded bigot. Why even whine about it at all? America will not follow this evolution? So you can see into the future? You missed the point. The evolution of this country is happening, by virtue of it happening, that is what evolution does it changes things, and it doesnt get directed by you or anyone, despite so many wanting to direct it. It is organic. The Hispanic population is growing, where once they were a small minority. I bet you hate that too, but we are still the melting pot, and change is the only constant. Which is why I said deal with it. You cant stop it, I cant stop it. There is nothing at stake except your ideal of "how things should be". Think a little bigger. America in 10,000 years. How about 100,000? Really? You think all the white, Christian republicans are going to be running the place? You are the American Indian 400 years ago. ”
“Notice how liberal comments are nowhere to be found when a muslim commits a crime? But let a Christian commit a crime and the liberals come out of the woodwork.
Here's how I look at it. Pretty much every modern country on the planet allows muslims to come into, and to practice their faith, in those same modern countries. But would a muslim country allow christians to come and freely live and worship openly as christians in their country? Of course not. So muslim populations are growing in our countries while christianity is all but wiped out in muslim countries. Does anyone else see what is happening here?
Perhaps it is time to do something really dark. I hate to say it...I really do...but it appears now to be absolutely necessary. Simply put, until muslim countries allow freedom of religion and allow christians to come there and live and worship freely, then NO muslims should be allowed in our countries. It is only fair and right. How long before the muslim populations get so large in America they start trying to exercise control?
What will it take to wake people up. How many innocent people must die at the hands of muslims?”

They refuse to speak the National language and have strong presence in local government. “A profoundly idiotic comment. This wasn't a viral evolution that needed to be scientifically engineered to occur. It was reproduction of a naturally occurring viral evolution very LIKELY to occur in nature to demonstrate the future possibility of a naturally ocurring future version of this virus becoming airborne so that the CDC and WHO can prepare for it. I love it when the uninformed try to sound wise by chastising those far more intelligent than they are.”
“and you would do.......what? How do you stop the media from being biased. How do you stop the corporations from donating millions to keep certain people in office? How do you make 200 million people care?
The answer is simple. You don't. This is the natural degradation of a society. All societies face this and as the past shows us, none survive as long as greed and religious extremism survive. Even China is showing the first signs of degrading.
It's all going to come crashing down. Period. The slate will be wiped clean. There will be enormous suffering for a long time after the fall, then another strong willed empire will grow with the promise of prosperity. This prosperity will come at the expense of other societies and then, as the circle closes, this empire will succumb to greed and corruption and fall. It is an endless circle and nothing can stop it.
So enjoy your life as you can. That's what I did. I'm retired and I only leave home when I absolutely have to. I hate people (none of them can be trusted and they always betray you), and want absolutely nothing to do with society. I have a nice private, blissful life. The only thing missing is sweet arms of death, which will probably come sooner rather than later.”
“And in the mean time a wealthy American man is donating 100 million dollars to set up a scholarship fund.....IN CHINA FOR CHINESE STUDENTS. His own people are suffering horrifically and face uncertain financial futures and he gives money for Chinese students. Many of these Chinese students will then move on to the Chinese military and use their education against us.
Sometimes I believe the wealthy should be taxed at 50%....or just lined up and shot.”

I wonder why - when some start squealing about "Other People's Money" they DON'T look at the positive side - especially when this money IS doing good for Our Country!!
Quit being sooo jealous that this man IS so rich - HE WORKED AND MADE HIS MONEY!!
What a Novel Idea!!!”

“Why do you resent the rich so much. It's his money.”
magicguy on Apr 21, 2013 at 21:44:17
“Actually it is his money, he can do with it as he sees fit, no matter what you thing. Many here say our government should pay for this, that is tax money not government money. Many good people will come forward to help, as they already are. There are always people like you that want to dictate to others how they should spend their money, how much have you sent to help?”
“Actually, it is true. While the congressional committee was part of the process, it was President Obama that came up with the idea of the sequester. The goal was to make a series of cuts so harsh that the super-committee would be scared into coming up with a bi-partisan agreement, which they did not. And it was Obama who signed the Order yesterday that put the sequester in motion.
And while the sequester will have a profound effect on certain sectors of the economy, it will take several months for their to be any kind of real impact. In that time states will do their best to fill in the gaps. Tennessee, for example, has a rainy-day fund of several hundred million dollars that will be used to fill shortfalls from the sequester. Hopefully, Democrat-leaning states thought ahead like Tennessee and kept their spending in check so they could save money for times like this...though I serously doubt it. Liberal states are among the most un-prepared.”
“Because we Americans are stupid sheep. Watch. More republicans will get voted out in two years resulting in democrats stuffing expensive legislation and taxes down our throats. And everyone will somehow find reason to cheer. Sad.
There was a time long ago. A time when the people would stand against the government. In the late 1700s we stood up against unfair taxation. We went to war and got our freedom. In the mid 1800s the south rose up against unfair taxes and the rights of states to self determination (don't even start arguing about slavery).
All it will take is one person to bring the people together. Perhaps it is time to stand against our government again. Create third party maybe?”
“As always, this is a cyclical thing. One president leaves office and gets blamed of things go downhill. Housing is up simply because of time and investors propping it up on wall street. It is another bubble. There are thousands of abandoned homes and housing starts are up? Yeah, right. It's just numbers manipulation. The market is on global investors. Once again, manipulation of numbers. Even unemployment is manipulated, not including those who gave up looking for work.
Democrat... Republican...it doesn't matter. Both parties are corrupt.”
“Actually, while you are obviously being sarcastic, you are absolutely right. The American people don't think anymore. They believe whatever they are told. They are just sheep. And eventually they will be herded like the sheep they are...straight to slaughter.”

“On that I disagree. Our legislators think we're stupid and ok, collectively we're not that bright. But I think we don't get enough credit. By voting the same jokers in over and over again, we've given them the impression that they can do as they like. We have the power to fire these people and don't do it. What's up with that?”
“More of that irrational logic that taking assault weapons away from civilized, law abiding citizens will actually lower crime rates. The bloodbaths will continue even if handguns were banned.
And ALL assault weapon handlers? Really? My son is a U.S. marine and I have another who is becoming a part of Air Force Security Forces. They carry assault weapons. They do their part to defend your freedoms.
And THEY'RE outlaws? If that is the case, then I am proud of my outlaws. I am proud that I am an outlaw myself, after the decade of service I gave.
All for your freedom. All hail the honorable outlaws.”
“I've also been obviously disregarding the literacy rate in America. Guns will be flowing North from Mexico in a huge black market if a total ban on Assault weapons is put in place. And expanded capacity magazines? Who cares about that. You can make them yourself from standard magazines. How-to is on the web....
South? Where the heck did I say guns would flow south....”
JuniorBug on Jan 7, 2013 at 23:32:38
“With all due respect, I think you're the one who's missing the point. I'm saying that Mexico gets its guns from the US -- they flow South, not North, because gun ownership and manufacture is more heavily restricted in Mexico than it is here. That's what the "gun walking" programs were about, tracking the flood of American guns to the cartels, and that's why the Mexican government has sought to file civil lawsuits against American manufacturers. Unless the cartels are going to start shipping their own personal American-made guns back to the US, the prospect of Mexico smuggling illegal guns into the US are minimal. It would be like the US smuggling pandas into China.”
“Sheesh! Doesn't anyone read anymore? First off, yes, Obama is at serious fault for not getting the border properly protected. That's been an issue for the last 4 years (and during the Bush Administration). Where you are misreading (how, I don't know) is that if an assault weapons ban were put in place, the very porous southern border would be a boon to smugglers bringing undocumented assault weapons into the country to sell.”
Paul1965 on Jan 8, 2013 at 16:15:30
“Okay, but wouldn't there be less here if only smuggled weapons were available?”
“Now where in there did I say anything about anyone needing an assault weapon? A ban would be illogical because of the side effects it would create, namely a massive black market that would only end up getting undocumented assault weapons into the hands of criminals.”
