“Audit the Fed.”
CaptainVideo replied on Dec 17, 2009 at 01:42:55
“Auditing the Fed will not create a single additional job. On the contrary, by letting politicians look over its shoulder it makes its job of restoring the economy to full employment more difficult.
Auditing the Fed is the trojan horse of ultra laissez-faire ideologue Ron Paul, who thinks the Fed and the government should not do anything to restore the economy to full employment, intended to weaken the Fed's hand.”

MaryanneAZ replied on Dec 16, 2009 at 17:03:14
“Sanders stated himself that he knew it would be defeated, but he wanted to consider and debate the Amendment during this process. Laudable goal, but not worthy of derailing health care reform as a future foundation to other reforms (including public option, medicare buy-in or even single payer). He is a wise and honorable man. I admire that he did not let his own Amendment rise above the greater good.”

Watch him......h is moves now are purely to position himself for a reelection. He'll throw a bone toward the end of his term to "the base" but that's about. He used union support, the little guy that chipped in $5-$10 a month to support him, and can you honestly say this is what you expected? I'm not talking about just healthcare ....think about all of it, the wars, his speech to the Nobel Prize committee where he basically affirmed the foreign policy position of George W. Bush, backtracking on holding Bush/Cheney & company accountable, gay/lesbian issues. Ask these people how they feel. The list goes on and on and on. I at least believe Clinton cares about the little guy.”

“Well, you'll either vote Republican or enable them.
For those of you bleating on about getting Kucinich, Grayson or Kermit the Frog to mount a primary challenge to Obama in 2012, take a leaf from a lesson learned late from Ted Kennedy, who went to his grave lamenting the fact that he'd challenged Jimmy Carter in 1980. That gave the public the impression that the Democratic party was weak, divided and unfit to govern. That challenge sent scores of Democratic voters into the ranks of what later became known as 'Reagan Democrats'. That created Reaganomics, which deregulated Wall Street and started the clusterf*ck we are in at the moment.
Not voting, voting independent or radging up a Democratic politico to challenge Obama will unleash a hegemony of Republican rule that will grip this country like a vice and make Bush look like a lamb. It may even give you a Palin theocracy.
You need to grow up and stop taking on the opinions of the likes of Ed Schulz, Keith Olberman and 'others' in a position to know better. These opinionators are no better than their mirror images at Fox. They are after self-promotion. They don't give a rat's a$$ who's in the White House. In fact, a Republican would actually benefit them - they are high income earners and their taxes would be cut. Has anyone heard the teabaggers and the birthers lately? No? Well, that's because the base of the Left is doing their job for them.”

“What a foolish and ridiculous thing to say. This President cares more than any President that we've had in decades. He doesn't wear it on his sleeve and drip goopy stuff all day every day. He just gets up and works hard for it every day. Have you even noticed that he's losing weight? He cares. His whole adult life has been about making choices to serve over making choices that might have earned him more money. His current salary is far less than it would have been by now if he had taken one of those fat Harvard type jobs that were available to him. He skipped those and went to the out of work steel workers on the South Side because he cared. He still cares. He's working his heart out for his. His hair is turning gray. He's giving up his youth for us. The least we could do is not act like a bunch of impractical whiners and instead support him while he serves us. It's hard, tough work to get anything at all done in Washington and he's working terrifically hard at it BECAUSE HE CARES.”
