“Jesus calls on people to forgive. Even if you don't feel like it.”

“People leaping off the sofa immediately after a gruesome crime to go find a camera or a microphone so they may be seen displaying their piety by saying that they are so very holy that they forgive the criminal is inane. And it makes them look like hypocrites, not holier than we.”
“Meditate on what? Meditation is also a form of prayer.”

“Not for me........I meditate while riding my motorcycle in the hill over the city watching eagles and hawks soar....for me its about focusing on the REAL REALITY. Watching and appreciating for me is meditation.”
““Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right” - Abraham Lincoln ”

“Who cares what Lincoln said...like any politician ..you won't ever get elected unless you placate the masses on looking RELIGIOUS...they won't vote for you....that's how pathetically primitive humans are....science has given us every thing of any value to our daily lives and people waste time and energy on some FANTASY that has given nothing of any real value....the morals it contains even came from the early philosophers.”
“I am a doctor. I am one of those who save lives. And before I start the day, I pray that I have enough energy, strength and wisdom to take care of my patients.
I did not do so before. I believed greatly in my own abilities. But man - even the strongest of men, which I am not - has limitations.
God does answer prayers Tom. His Spirit guides me and I have been able to save lives by doing His way.
I've had prayers that are unanswered. That was why I lost faith for a while. But time gives perspective. It shows that I was not meant to do or have something that I prayed for. I may have prayed with a wrong, selfish motive.
We may pray all the time, but very few listen and obey.”
“Sweet Sarah... Has it occurred to any one of us the number of bad events that were prevented through prayer? How can we disprove that God did step in and prevent something awful from happening? When bad things happen, we say there is no God. When good things happen, we say that it's because we are clever or diligent. I understand if you can blame or praise man, or praise or blame God. But don't praise man for good things happening then blame God for bad things happening.”
“Dearest Danny, have you tried prayer? Maybe you can try it. Try it with an open heart, not with hardness nor bitterness. Try to ask with faith and with love. Try to ask with good motives, and not to challenge or question anyone. Try it and see.”
“In the Old Testament we see a lot of killing to purge the evil caused by unbelievers. It is a sin to kill fellow believers.
Now we see everyone as brothers and sisters, whether they are believers or not. Therefore the law applies to all.
But above the law operates love, mercy and forgiveness.
It's just as much for the victim as for the perpetrator.
It takes time for wounds to heal. But forgiving can help a wound to heal faster.”

“Not according to a lot of the pulpit pounders. But I was referring to the interpretation of that particular commandment, not doing a critique of the OT versus today.”
“In Psalms, David asks God to punish his enemies. In Deuteronomy and Leviticus, God laid down the laws for His people. Some laws called for death by stoning, for just payment - an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.
In the Gospels, Jesus summarized the laws: "Love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself."
If we followed that simple law of loving our neighbor then things like this won't happen. one won't need to know all the laws.
So loving has to start with someone. It can start with all these people praying forgiveness for enemies.
It might not seem like much amidst a tidal wave of hatred. But it can be seen as sparks of light in the darkness.”
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to alook after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
My brothers and sisters, believers must not show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there," or "Sit on the floor by my feet," have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you. - James 1,2,5”
“I don't think the school was right to withhold her diploma, but personally, I wince a little when I hear kids use cuss words. I know that when I was a kid I did it a lot to sound cool and because adults used it all the time. But now as a parent, I feel bothered when I hear my kid say such words. I know that using such words seem harmless, but then one gets numb to how it sounds and eventually you'll hear the whole gamut from their mouths. The school should just advise the parents that they do not like such words in a school setting. She is a valedictorian and is a role model for everyone, so she's showing that using curse words in a speech is all right.”

“but what was she told when her speech was sent for review. No one says a speech in high school unles some administrator looked at it. The article mentioned the word "heck". Possibly they allowed that with specific no "hell". Guess we will never know with this report.”
“Its saddening to see this. While praying at church, a street urchin asked me for money. I told him to read the cover of my book and I would give him something. He is ten but he could barely read "the Holy Bible." maybe I can't blame him, cuz he said his father left and his mother hooked up with somebody new. Perhaps it's not his fault. But it did make me think of thousands of people who are privileged, who can read, who may have PhD's, and yet do not believe. They are no worse off than that little boy.”
“It's disturbing for a young girl to view a snuff film as some kind of horror flick. Her grasp of reality is tenuous. Law enforcers should watch out for these fans and for copycats who would love to have the same attention.”
“I have Muslim friends too. I'm not sure but they mentioned that if you convert to Christianity then you could be put to death. Is that true? Cuz there's a lot less tolerance there for other religions.”
