“Even as a kid, once I found out that it wasn't merely "Vaseline" (love how some brand names become the item, ie Bandaids), I never wanted it to touch me again. I had no idea really what it was or how its made, but I saw "petroleum" and immediately thought "poison".”
“I had a Motorolla Milestone that I bought years ago. I dropped it countless times, got rain on it, and pushed it off the counter plenty of times. All that has happened to it was a scratch in the right upper corner and the thing that senses the phone is turned in upside down doesn't work anymore. And I've had the phone for 2 years, and it still works fine.
So, yeah, phones can be made to be pretty indestructible. Apple just likes making their phones easily destructible so people have to continue to buy them when they break.”
