“I ain't pretending.

Plenty about 2009 disappointed me. My president isn't even in the top 10. If the top 10 weren't in the top 10, he wouldn't be on the list at all.

I'm with him, I'm staying with him. And if we all stayed with him, we wouldn't all get what we want, but "we" - not "he" - could move a little faster than a snowman running a marathon in the Florida keys.”

“Disappointing is hardly the word. I won’t belabor the fact that multitudes of Democrats in the primaries believed there was better, stronger option in Hillary Clinton. We all voted for Obama, obviously, because he was the Democratic candidate and there was no better option. There still isn’t. However, President Obama thus far has behaved as if he’s president of a somewhat esoteric debating society, not a leader in time of crisis. His political and legislative teams are a disaster. (What happened to Rahm Emmanuel?) Unless he and they wake up and heed the advice of Marianne Williamson and so many others — and quickly — we’re in for it. Our only hope is to elect better Democrats who will provide sufficient pressure from the progressive wing of our party, currently led by corporate drones.”

“This woman donated $640 which put 15 people up in FOUR ROOMS (not 15) for a week. It's been well below freezing for the past 3 weeks here.

Homelessness is at an all time high in Colorado Springs right now. Tent cities have sprung up along the Interstate, and the city council recently called off a a no-camping ordinance that would have given police the power to clear the camps away. The majority of these homeless are vetrans.

This past year or so Focus on the Family spent over $600,000 in other states working to defeat gay marriage, during the same year they laid off 300 people. I wonder if any of them are among the homeless?

Oh, and making the local news tonight? FOF wants to buy $4 million worth of SuperBowl anti-abortion ads. That's right, this "christian" organization seems to have all the money in the world to spend until those babies are born, then who cares. Let 'em freeze.”

“I don't think it's a prank exactly. More like a carefully practiced and well thought out attempt to show how completely and unbelievably the GOP rank and file have gone over the edge morally and spiritually in their attempt to stop the Democrats from getting anything done.

What a shame if we all (both sides) have to stop and ask ourselves if it was real or not. Who cares? This is a case of the messenger shooting the sender with a flaming arrow so that the recipients have a chance to see that the house in friggin' on fire!”

even though we are at war;
From a distance I just cannot comprehend

Until a month or two ago, I imagine I would have considered myself a progressive. But this turning against the president thing is giving me a very bad feeling. Am I the only one who sees a few eerie similarities to how the "conservative tea-baggers" have turned on the republicans?

Change and progress is good, it's fine. But don't run off ahead and leave your party (and leader) behind.

Dr. Carroll is absolutely correct:
"The likeliest reason Progressives have had to 'sacrifice more' is that the Democratic Party has more leverage over Progressives. That's just the way it is."”

One day he rants on the senate floor because a Democratic senator had the nerve to do exactly what he himself did less than 5 years ago (while lying about it) and the next day states that he has no problem with his "good friend", Ms.Pailin, marking out his name with a Sharpie so she can be incognito while wearing a tee shirt that says “If you don’t love America then why don’t you get the he@@ out?”

“Thank you for this post.

I found it almost amusing watching progressives, conservatives and a GOP strategist all in relative harmony this morning on the Meet the Press round table proclaiming the futility of passing this bill. Almost amusing, but really quite sad.

Just as you noted, from the very beginning the GOP has declared absolute war on this legislation, wilth the completely admitted intent of bringing down this administration and congress irregardless of consequence to American citizens. Just a few months ago we were all laughing about how out of control the "party of hate" was, with their Palins, Becks, DeMints, Sanfords. Now look at us...have we really joined them in eating our own?

United we stand, divided we fall.”

“Kind of interesting watching the progressives and conservatives and a GOP strategist all in relative harmony this morning on the Meet the Press round table proclaiming the futility of passing this bill.

It would be almost amusing if it wasn't so tragic. From the very beginning, one side has declared absolute war on this legislation, wilth the completely admitted intent of bringing down this administration and congress irregardless of consequence to American citizens. Just a few months ago we were all laughing about how crazy they were, with their Palins, Becks, DeMints, Sanfords --- and now look at us...

Well, the extremes may make the most noise, but in the end it is, in fact, the majority who rings the final bell. I'm stickin' with the one that brought me.”
