I supported him but I am not going to be like the Bush followers who didn't care what he did; they followed. I expected some courage in governing and Obama has shown none.”

“I voted and supported Obama but he has given away the store to Wall St. and corporate America.
Gave our money away with no controls and Wall St. is gambling even more than they did before. Every bill for oversight of Wall St. looks like Swiss cheese it is so riddled with loopholes.
Talk about bringing taxes back from Cayman Island but also caved on that.
No prosecutions for war crimes by the prior administration.
No stroke of the pen to stop the discharge of gay men and women from the military.
No fight for single payer or at least a robust public option in the health care plan but a $500 billion give away to the insurance industry.
Disappointment doesn't begin to express the feelings of this family. He will not have our support next time around. We will not vote for a Republican but unless Obama gets a backbone and takes a few lessons from Roosevelt, he will deserve to be a one-termer. Even Lyndon Johnson is a good example of a president who fought for principle. Seems like Obama has none.”

“Bush made sure that everyone knew about his "private" moments with family but he NEVER showed these troops the respect they deserved by going to even ONE funeral or meeting them at Dover. And he was the one who sent them to die in his chosen war. Amazingly easy for someone who always chose to not fight himself; his daddy got him his stint in the Texas National Guard. Don't you ever wonder who died in his place?”

The rich getting richer is a compound interest math problem. If I have $1,000 to invest and get a 10% return, I make $100 profit. If you have $10,000 and get a 10% return, then you make $1,000 profit. I am not jealous of your profit but am happy that I made some too.”

“Thank you Bernie! The sanest voice to be heard in DC.
I recently returned from Australia. My daughter had an accident and we took her to the local ER in a small town where was treated well and left with the x-ray of her knee which they had given her. We recently received the bill; $70.
I recently had to go the emergency room here in the USA and also just received my bill; $550 WITHOUT an x-ray.
Not difficult to decide which system I would prefer. I grew up in Australia and never had to think about the cost of seeing a doctor. Now I am in the land of the most expensive health care in the world, when you can get it.
Single payer is the only system that makes sense and as usual, Bernie has it right.”

One thing you can say about the Republicans, when they are in power they get what they want. And it seems like when they're in the minority, they also get what they want. So what is the matter with the Democrats?
We should have started with single payer and maybe settled for the public option. Now I hear that Obama is favoring that garbage known as the trigger. Forget about the Democrats. We need a truly progressive party that will actually work for the people. The few truly progressive Democrats should start moving in that direction and form a Progressive Third Party.”

If you are paying $1000 for an insurance policy and you're healthy .. drop it!!! The only way to stop the pushers and pimps is to stop buying.”

“I worked at a newspaper, had Anthem insurance. Bring home pay was 320.00 a week, ins. premium was going up to 129.00 a week for me and two kids. In the course of a year, our trips to the doctor didn't even cover my 500.00 deductible. So I was paying for everything, plus the premiums. Since my insurance was 30% of my income, I was able to get the state children's insurance for my kids, and I opted to do without. I am grateful that I have Medicare now, but I would still encourage people every chance I get - to boycott insurance. It is the only way for us to get a grip on the situation. Start an email campaign, find a way to get something in the news about groups of people who are talking about an insurance boycott, it would be powerful.”

“If the bill passes without a strong public option, I would hope that every progressive sticks to his/her guns and votes against it.
If this administration is not willing to fight for the people, why should the people fight for it in 2010 and 2012?
Over 65% of the people want a public option and their elected reps refuse to give it to them? It is absolutely clear that our election system is a farce. These reps do not represent their constituents. They only represent their corporate backers. We need to take ALL private money out of elections. Until we do, the people will not have representation.”

Someone should teach these folks how to cover these stories. It breaks. They cover for a few minutes and then go back to regular news. As more news breaks, then they can break in for the updates. It takes real journalists to cover news and decide what is important. Apparently MSNBC just does not have them.
There are more important items to cover for hour on end than a boy in a balloon!!
