The math is simple. Huge drop in personal spending, huge drop in business spending.. if the government stops now,,, then the other two go down even more and tax revenue drops more than the cuts you made and the cycle continues .. see multiplier effects also.

In this case it does not just require deficit spending , it requires redirecting spending to all internal spending which cant be done in a country that no longer makes things except by the government directing the spending and it needs to be directed to areas of the highest job multiplier effects... MFG and infrastruc­ture... Military is one of the lowest such a700 Foreign bases..


And the most important deficit is the trade deficit since it represent a 100% permanent transfer of wealth out of the country which you dont mention and is the source of our biggest economic problem if not all of them besides dereg and greed..

Growth in GDP comes from Government spending, business re-investment, or consumer spending.
Consumers are losing their jobs, and those who have their jobs are not getting raises, while the cost of living is going higher. So they are not spending.
Businesses are not re-investing. Why should they? Consumers are not buying, no matter what the business does. That is why tax breaks to the rich make no sense.

So, what is left to grow GDP?
