A Letter From Roman Polanski

“I am a liberal and I want Polanski to serve jail time. Just in case there is any issue. Child ra.pe is not O.K. in my book, nor is entitlement to skip the jurisdiction because you are rich and well connected.”

“I would certainly hope the BHL's of the world do not represent the majority on this issue.”

“Only slightly. He brought this upon himself and has not paid for his crime. He felt entitled to flee the jurisdiction. I'm glad there have been some consequences, but he needs to be sentenced for the crime he admitted to committing and also for fleeing the jurisdiction.”

“Do you know why he fled?”

“WRONG! It would be foolish and unfair to let him get away with fleeing the jurisdiction when he admitted to a crime. The Swiss jail was because he was fighting extradition. It had nothing to do with his sentence. He did not hang around for sentencing and a Swiss extradition holding does not equate to a U.S. sentence that the defendant felt he was entitled to avoid.
Polanski is NOT above the law.”

“1) When do the US abide by international law
when extradition is concerned? - e.g. War Crimes.
2) Wasn't RP justified to fear for his life and not
"hang around", after spending six weeks close
to some of the Manson 'family" during the illegal
false emprisonme nt/psychol ogical evaluation at
Chino State Prison?
3) He had shown sufficient respect for the "Law"
by dutifully showing up in court, after each of
several trips abroad between his arrest and his
flight (more than five months).
4) Let California judges decide what is fair and
'not foolish.' They released 70 pgs (at great cost
to you, no doubt) on the matter on 12/21 and
it appears they can do without you and your sort.”

“Agree. I hope he does do jail time because he is "elderly" due to his ability to flee the jurisdiction without facing his sentencing. He should not benefit from breaking the law.”

“My point was that if the plea bargain result did not please him, he could have argued all these mitigating factors and gone to trial. He could have withdrawn his plea of guilty. Instead, he thought he was above the law.”

“Bravo, bravo - I could not agree more.
Levi is little more than an astro turfer for Polanski and he has done this over and over again.
Since he is such close friends with Polanski, maybe he could tell him that there is a "different opinion" from his and that is what Polanski did is despicable and he should be held accountable for ra.pe and absconding justice.
I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Since Levi pretends to be so interested in balance, maybe he could tell Polanski that lots of us think that he is a p*g.”
