“I like the way Joan Rivers looks, actually. She is a woman who knows how to have fun, it shows, and thus, she looks good. Gloria Steinem missed the chance to have a new look a long long time ago. It's not too late, Gloria.”
Norak replied on Jun 02, 2009 at 19:37:14
“Agree about Joan. She may have had a lot of work done but she's actually prettier now than when she was young. Who cares if it comes from a knife? Why on earth should a woman give up if she can afford to look better, I once had a plastic surgeon tell me if he works on a pretty woman, he gets a much better result because if he works on a plain woman he gets a plain woman who looks younger. Today's fillers do more to enhance than the drastic cutting of yesterday and that's why women who've had work done in recent years can look prettier than their older sisters,”

Michelle Obama is a success, because she is true to herself. BTW, Hillary had not given up on her health "plan" by this point in Clinton's adminstration, so what exactly is the comparison?”

ASU Apologizes, Establishes "Barack Obama Scholars" Program
Commented Apr 12, 2009 at 02:29:18 in Politics
“It is amazing that ASU calls the President "a politician." The President of the United States is NOT a politician. He is the Commander in Chief, and the Chief Executive of the entire United States. ASU's statement that it cannot give an honorary degree to a sitting President shows its blatant unwillingness to acknowledge that Barack Obama presides over each person in the US, not just Democrats.”
pobo replied on Apr 12, 2009 at 09:08:03
“It's interesting how many Americans misunderstand the proper role of the President. He is the Chief Executive of the Executive Branch - Congress and the Judiciary do not come under his authority, they are co-equal branches of gov't. He(or she) executes the laws approved by Congress and enforces the laws determined by the Judiciary. He is Commander in Chief, but not of the entire United States, just our armed forces.”
Solph replied on Apr 12, 2009 at 04:38:21
“If not a politician, how would you call the president, or any president of the US?
Anyone elected to office is a politician. Few deserved the title of statesman or statesperson, applied to senior political figure, or anyone who in a given moment exhibits a certain quality of "statespersonship." It is too early to call Obama a statesman, IMHO. We shall see about that in 4 or 8 years.”

Richard Jenkins in The Visitor
Commented Feb 01, 2009 at 09:52:24 in Entertainment
“Richard Jenkins is a wonderful actor. However, the ending in the Visitor comes up very short. The professor could have married that beautiful mother, petitioned for her to get a green card, and within three years she could have been a citizen and petitioned for her son. MUCH better ending, and a more profound change for the professor than just playing drums in the park.”
