“I think that the prize should be thought off as prize for the American voters who voted him in for their intention. Although I believe good intention are misguided. I prefer Obama to the opposition but I think he serves the same master.”

“As muslem we respect every jew who practice their religion and have no problem with them. The problem in the middle east is not about religion although religion is exploited in all sides. Yes we support every religious group to practice there religion freely. Ignorant is widely spread on muslim and nonmuslim countries. What about the rights of the palestinians?”

“true but it does not make right and the majority on those countries don't support it. the west support the dictators who practice torture.”
JacksonJones replied on Jan 27, 2009 at 21:21:12
“I do not know on what basis you claim that the majorities in those countires don't support it. But even if we accept that as true, the point remains, which is that torture is something that is more the rule than the exception the world over, especially in those parts of the world. It is folly to judge the US to be on par with those places in that respect because of a relatively few breaches of our values by the thankfully gone admin. To be sure, a few is a few too many, and we like to think of ourselves as perfect. But to acknowledge that the Bush Admin. crossed a line, in a very serious way, is not to say that crossing that line is not even given a momentary thought in most parts of the world, including in the OIC states.
And that doesn't even begin to address the myriad other issues that exist in those places with respect to freedom of religion, emancipation of women, freedom of sexual orientation, etc., etc., etc.
I find the supposition that we, the USA, or we, the West, must be perfect in these respects to earn the respect of these countires while they pay no attention to such things whatsoever to be just plain wrong. In other words, when do we require them to respect human rights before they have our respect? Or is the whole thing just a one-way street?”

Obama Should Quit War on Terror, Talk to Hamas and Taliban
Commented Jan 25, 2009 at 21:01:11 in World
“The author provides a great advise for Obama. From my knowledge of middle east, talking to Hamas and the Taliban while might not produce results directly by moderating their views will help bring the divisions between moderates and extremist to the surface. I'm confident that moderates will win if they can deliver to the people and we can help in making sure that they can deliver. Force alone can't win and we should not be afraid to talk and to address the legitimate concerns of all people”

“I think Bush in addition to achieving personal revenge against Saddam, had good intentions for Iraq. It is true that he was naive and didn't have good information but he was trying to build democracy in Iraq. unfortunately Iraq is tough place to have democracy with it is sectarian divisions and anyone with minimum knowledge would have known that. We have alot of american soldiers and iraqi's who paid dearly for impossible mission.”
snesich replied on Dec 15, 2008 at 23:33:05
“Oh please! Bush had no "good intentions" for Iraq or for the Iraqis. His only intentions were 1) Power and Control in the region; 2) Access to Iraq's oil on behalf of oil companies; 3) Handing over billions to "private contractors" who are part of his small circle of conservative, connected friends.

“The majority of the American people have demonstrated clearly that they are smart and didn't buy into the anti-muslim baiting. Collin Powel spoke for the majority. As a muslim I admire this country and I think it promotes the ideal of Islam better than muslim countries”
