The Good Kind of Rape

Commented Oct 19, 2009 at 16:08:00 in Entertainment

“so are you saying it was CONSENSUAL?...by reading that transcript, does that look CONSENSUAL??

and he still fled from justice...what a FOOL...he AND Whoopi, whose daughter was pregnant at 13...which i'm believing was CONSENSUAL...

good Lord!”

hp blogger Jeff Norman replied on Oct 31, 2009 at 21:52:11

“Whoopi expressed no opinion about what happened between Polanski and the girl. Why should she? The girl claimed she resisted, and Polanski claimed the sex was consensual. How would Whoopi know who's telling the truth? Her comment was merely a reference to the crime to which Polanski pled guilty.”

“My 'ex' husband (quoting/emphasizing the word 'ex') has always refused to see Michael Moore films. He also said there was no racism in America (!!!), that people were grossly exaggerating. He also wondered why those people waiting for assistance during Hurricane Katrina were so 'impatient' and acting like 'animals'. Okay, don't badger me, as I did say my 'ex'. By the way, he has since remarried...to a (black) Caribbean! Don't ask!”

he's not stupid”

janha replied on Sep 22, 2009 at 15:00:15

“I'm not talking about racism. I'm talking about Obama's desire for a bipartisan effort on health care reform. My point is, it's bad enough that Republican's are out there lying, fear mongering, and just generally trying to stall health care reform from moving forward at all, but now you have lawmakers out there telling racist jokes for God's sake. This says a lot about the respect they have for him as a man, as the President of the United States, and for the office of the presidency. They are not going to contribute in any constructive way to health care reform, so we want him to please move on without them.

As far as the racism issue and the President, yes, I believe that racism is at the heart of the protests and conservative opposition. I agree with President Carter's statements. I also believe Pres. Obama and his administration are taking the right path and tone on this issue. It takes a lot of courage and integrity to say that race isn't at the heart of the protests as he's done, when you know that he knows that's not really true.”

“ANYONE who commits a violent act has behavioral issues. No matter what university. Being that it came from Yale should not merit it more newsworthy. Sad story, but should NOT be focused on when other student violent acts are CLEARLY not.

Same old story...over and over.

Respect to the victim's family...respect to ALL victim's families.”

The young, especially, can see through the lens of their parents, the history of hate. It's surreal actually. I fear for the President's safety, his family's safety as well. But SOMEONE has to take a chance, be courageous; otherwise we submit/surrender to THEIR wishes...The most humorous/pathetic thing is to watch people cry, 'I want my country back'...whose country? How audacious. I hope TO GOD that Native Americans are watching all this and laughing, laughing, laughing their native a**es off.”

“I am an American spouse of a U.K. citizen...I am NOT an employee for an American company...i pay British taxes...we both work at Temp agencies, medial jobs (we are musicians as well)...nothing, NOTHING costs (aside from prescriptions which have totaled the equivalent of $20)...no long waits...and i happen to be going through a serious medical condition, whereby surgery and follow up appointments amount to ZERO...

scary thing is that he's applying to reside in America with me for an indefinite period (to be with my family as my father recently passed away unexpectedly), but with med costs in the U.S., we are doing all we can to get treatment for ANY and EVERY thing here (including general stuff)...i also had 2 miscarriages, was even taken away in an ambulance for one...and paid NOTHING

the scariest thing of all is people in American actually having a PROBLEM with this...people here ask me constantly, 'what's the problem? we're talking about LIVES!'...then think it's more to do with something else...not healthcare..”

Pressure: that would be a construction worker laid off because of the housing glut who has to support 4 kids and a wife. That is pressure. Spare us these sob stories from the priviliged and fortunate.”
