“What you call "the progressive,liberal version of healthcare reform" would have been a national disaster -- much lower quality health care at much higher cost, with increased taxes AND vastly increased national debt. The current version(s), after a dizzying succession of changes, will not be much better if it actually becomes law. It's no accident or mistake that 60% of Americans are AGAINST this legislative monstrosity; the more they learn about it and the details the more they detest it, and this clearly has been the reason for Obama wanting to rush it through as quickly as possible. He has accomplished NOTHING his entire first year in office, and just wants a health care bill to sign as a mark of personal accomplishment. He doesn't even know what's in it. NO ONE understands the whole bill, including the Democrat senators who have voted for it, and some of them -- Democrats! -- have admitted this. The version just (barely) passed by the Senate would not have passed except for all the "brass knuckles and bribery" methods of the White House. This is Chicago politics come to Washington, folks. Anyone who thinks this is good for the country needs to sit back, take some deep breaths and give the whole thing a harder look.”
