“As a San Franciscan, I can say that carrying the reusable bags has really caught on here. Now big stores can still bag your groceries in paper, but plastics are only allowed for small businesses. But most people didn't start bringing their bags until plastic was banned. It works.”

“The "Where the food at?" is not anything to chastise him about, folks. AAVE (or BEV or Ebonics) is an actual dialect, not a lazy way of speaking English. Just realize it, and move on. This guy is allowed to speak in the dialect of the population he identifies with, okay?
He can't win for losing with some, I think. If he spoke Standard English 100% of the time, even during his down time, or among a population comfortable with AAVE, some would find him inauthentic or "putting on."

“I find this new idea of hers disgusting. Palin and her family are quite well off. Now maybe she's not got the money Caroline does, but the only ugly comments that could even have to do with class came from the anonymous Repub sources who trashed her after the election--not the media, or Democrats.
I refrained from commenting on this for awhile, but I just couldn't help myself.
And as for the whining about Couric--what a dolt. She says she didn't even watch the interview, but was treated unfairly. Also, how dumb is she to admit that she wanted out once it wasn't going well--meaning she realized she didn't know the answers to these simple questions??? Mind-boggling, for sure.
And for my parting shot, here's the real reason Caroline isn't facing the scrutiny you did, Governor, she wants to be a Senator--one of 100 and you wanted to be Vice President--the person next in line after the leader of the free world. Pretty big difference.
But then again, she never really did figure out what the VP did, anyway.”
