Words Designed to Kill Health Care Reform
Commented May 07, 2009 at 23:14:40 in Politics
“You are assuming that all 47 million are sick. So if you are right, seems that your personal biggest worry should be "Who's going to bury them? But that would make you feel better, huh? As long as you've got yours, right?”
Words Designed to Kill Health Care Reform

“Yep! As one of the unemployed, who can't afford to be sick, I was fighting mad after watching it. What really ticks me off is when Goverment officials try to convince Americans that having Goverment assist them in any way is somehow wrongt. As I recall the constitution stated that the goverment is "For the people and by the people"! How silly to believe that it is somehow counter-productive to have us benefit from a Goverment that we support through our tax dollars. We should be revolting in the street over the lack of health care and higher educational opportunities, both of which in my opinion, should be absolutely free! And to those who state that the primary role of the Goverment is to protect us from attack, then not one penny more in tax dollars should be collected beyond what they need for that purpose! I for one am really to march for Universal Health care! We should at least get the same health care that our so called elected officials get or better yet, our elected officials should get the same health care that many Americans do not. None!”
Obama To Fire His First Gay Arabic Linguist

“While I have been aware of "Don't ask, don't tell", since Clinton initiated it, for the first time, it really hit me, what it meant when I heard today that this man and a woman were fired for being gay!? Is this not the USA, a democracy? This is shameful and scary! President Obama should immediately repeal this Anti-American law. Is this not 2009! I am just blown away at the archaic thinking that went into creating such a law and really upset to learn that it is actually being enforced! Come on O! You promised that you would be a President for all Americans. Gay people are Americans too you know and they really need you now, not when you get around to it!”

“This whole thing reminds me of an incident that happened in a downtown Mickeys in Baltimore. My cousin and I had come from a concert and there was a group of thugs from the nearby projects, who robbed two brothers and assaulted them in the store. We were both distraught that no one would help, there were several large males working in the store including a manager. These thugs and were about 13 years old. My cousin and I were both afraid to step in being female. None of the employees said a word. We went outside to find help and saw an officer in a van, however he claimed to be a supervisor and said he would call an officer!!!! We went back into the store just in time to see one of the thugs with a pulled up bus sign post come in to hit the brothers. Just then an old security guard friend of ours, came in. We ran up to him asking him to help. In this booming voice, he said "What's going on in here?" and just like that, the boys ran. We tried to get the two brothers to stick around for the police but they were afraid, so we gave them cab fare home. They should be sued for lack of security!”

“this was my Grandson's first vote, too. I stood in line with him when he went to vote early in Texas. I just wanted to cry I was so proud. He voted for Obama. His 9 year-old sister was sad because her babysitter (who just became a citizen a few months ago) was going to vote for McCain! I told her that was what so great about America - If her babysitter's whole faminly wanted to vote for McCain, that was their right, and nobody could say anything to them about it, or stop them.”

I think honestly think there's a lot of that happening that isn't being noted.”

We have loads of fun - join here - we do this support group over conference call as we are nation wide! We breathe and visualize together - it really helps!

We men are suffering as well I can't stop watching the news CNN, MSNBC, and even FAKE FOX the ignorant show just to hear what new lies they have for the day. I come online and read all the articles I have always stayed informed of the elections and what was going on in my local and state government and every 4 years the national elections but this election since the primaries I have been addicted and now as the days grow closer I am getting even more stressed. Yes we all need a support group just tell me when and where .”
Are You Suffering From Election Anxiety?
Commented Oct 28, 2008 at 21:13:24 in Home
“I have become a Huffpo addict, suffering from chronic insomnia. I sleep in fits of 2 hours, often getting up to check the headlines here to make sure Obama is still maintaining his lead. At 6:30, I tune into Morning Joe to see how off Mika and Joe are about election news while simultaneously browsing Huffpo for new developments and reassurance. Currently unemployed (recenlty laid off), I then watch all the election news (with the exception of Fox) I can get, while reading the Huffpo articles. I then watch MSNBC Chris Matthews, Keith O and Rachel Maddow repeatedly until the infomercials take over. At about 3 A.M., I start my 2 hour attempts at sleep and my day starts over again. I need this election to seriously be over. I was supposed to be using my unemployment time to start a new business however that would take me away from my election addiction. I am really worried about my health so have recently started taking an abundance of supplements and drink 8 cups of green tea as I am sure this regimen can't be healthy. I worry about how I will get it all back together once O wins. I can't even contemplate that he doesn't. I think seriously I may really crack up!”

“Yeah, she didn't appear to like the whole Baldwin bit. She didn't smile at all. I think as agreement to come on the show, she had to agree to be skewered. She beared it but didn't grin. Also (OMG I sound like Palin), I betcha Amy did the rap bit instead of Tina only because Palin didn't want her likeness used in the rap. She knew it would not be complimentary, and it wasn't. But she chair dances rather well. I bet she's a secret "Ludacris" fan.”

“I get so nervous when this happens, but you know what I've found to take the edge off? Volunteering for Obama's campaign. Anytime I see a poll, I get my butt down to the campaign office or start canvassing neighborhoods. It allows me to take my mind off the polls AND do something to ensure Obama's victory. Also, between working, getting ready to go back to college and canvassing, I'm too d*mn tired to look at polls.”
