“Katrina was allowed to happen because Bush took no action after being warned the levees would fail and they would not be able to handle the response required so, in context, what you said makes no sense.”

FreelanceWriter replied on Nov 24, 2009 at 01:25:37

“What was Bush supposed to do? Go down and like Superman prop up the levees personally? Give me a break with this already!

Did FEMA fail in it's response -- yes, but that's a national issue, an organization wide issue as well. Not to mention, for all the people who love to put Katrina on Bush, where exactly was the Louisiana governor? The Mayor? The City Council? Gee, they were too busy to ever take care of the levees themselves since Louisiana is one of the most corrupt regional government machines in the entire USA. Even investigative news reports looking into pre and post Katrina efforts showcased how corrupt the local government there is.

And while I know this is politically incorrect to say, it's also the truth: Katrina didn't hit just overnight. There was several days warning as it built in power. But in the end, FAR too many people in Louisiana stupidly ignored the warnings to simply pack up and leave -- which means the people made PERSONAL decisions that they -- and not Bush -- are accountable for, however the end results turned out for them.”

“I don't hear the president telling anybody they are doing a heck of a job. Job applicants outnumber positions 6:1? That is higher than unemployment numbers adjusted. This wreck of a mess cannot be fixed overnight and to put it on the presidents shoulders, something that took decades to do, is just wrong. I don't believe for a minute he takes advice from just a few fellows whose advice you do not care for.”

I've seen the zapruder film.”

“He had ample warning it was a dangerous city for him to go to so, again, why were the Secret Service ordered off his limo before the turn into the plaza? Why the unconventional route? He trusted his service. I was not working on a movie so I am not swayed or disuaded by Stone's version.”

Agent86 replied on Oct 31, 2009 at 02:59:04

“I speaking of those who are considered "witnesses", etc...

I was WAY into this for a LONG (working with Stone can get you that way).. but, after all was said & done.. I found the disparities of the accounts, the inconsistencies of all the theories & , frankly, the silliness of some of it off-putting.

JFK was a RABID anti-communist, he was in Dallas to try to shore up a rift in the Party... & the rhetoric at that time in that place is SCARILY similar to the racist crap that we're now hearing directed at Obama.”

“I've rad ALL the books.. I even did research for Stone & worked on that silly film... I STILL can't zero in on "WHY".

It all seems so haphazard & sloppy.. it TRULY makes me wonder if those responsible were either STUPID or just LOUSY at their "jobs".

Just LOOK at all the speculation.. the investigations, the commissions.. it it possible that ALL of these thousands of people who might have been involved are STILL carrying this "secret"??

I've kept an open mind.. & I still will if someone makes a convincing EMPIRICAL case... but so far, nearly a half century later, Occams Razer still seems to apply.”

“"This smacks of a rogue CIA operation hired out to cuban nationals and the mafia." All these elements merge in the form of an oilman named Hunt, who was a rightwingnutpropagandist, the man in Dallas, and who was not above redrum. He also hatedCastro who had run him out of there, and Kennedy who did not like the fact that Hunt paid no tax on his extreme income.”

“Eisenhower's argument was against the military industrial complex and government run think tanks.”

The Happy Holistic replied on Oct 31, 2009 at 00:45:37

“Actually, according to one account I read, in the original speech, Eisenhower had wanted to say "Military-Industrial-Legislative" complex, but thought better of it politically. In the end, the old saw "Follow the Money" always holds true. The Federal Reserve is a private organization that holds a monopoly to print money we are obligated to pay for. We must pay them to print money that they print at no cost to them. They create it out of nothing but their title. It is the ultimate scam. Then the banks create more money by loaning it into existence. It is the driving power of the whole apparatus of the national security state. The power of the bankers dwarfs that of the defense contractors or oil industry. They put governments in debt and then call the tune.”
