“Why is Ivana taking public transportation anyway. Why didn't she charter her a flight so that she could ride in the peace that she desires. Pretty simple solution for someone who can't stand children and who can afford her own transportation.

In this case, she should have taken a valium and relaxed. Frowning is bad for the face lift.”

Since Lieberman is calling for us to strike Yemen, we should probably track where Yemen fits into the oil/pipeline picture.”

This TSA bureaucracy created by Bush is obviously not being funded where they can afford the latest equipment that will detect explosive residue. It costs too much and all the money is being spent on providing security for a drug lord in Afghanistan. So if the next terrorists doesn't use something metal, we are in trouble again.”

What is relevant is we have trillions of dollars to fight wars on foreign soil, providing security and training to deal with the local terrorists where there is oil or pipelines involved, but we don't have any money to fund this bureaucracy created in response to Bush's government takeover of airport security. The scariest thing is that the TSA is still working from the assumption that everything that is dangerous is metal.

If we had spent half the money that we spent in Iraq on airport security upgrades and continuing education on the latest terrorists tactics, we might have been able to stop this person from even getting on the plane.

We cannot continue to play catch up to the latest ways of terrorists. The Republicans think that cutting and running from Afghanistan would make us look weak, but they never stop to think how completely stupid we look when we are caught with our pants down again.”

“I'm sure that's it. Maybe if Bush had not implemented a government takeover of airport security, we might have a better run organization. You know how you conservatives detest any kind of government takeover because government can't run anything.

Well they sure as hell are running interference between us and them and they still operate under the assumption that all dangerous things are made of metal. Not quite sure why Bush didn't make sure that his new bureaucracy at least kept on top of the latest "non metal" terrorist tactics.

Now Obama has to stop and fix another mess left by the Bush Administration. He has to send the TSA to school to learn about the constantly evolving methods used by terrorists to thwart airport security. The information might come in handy.”

“If we spent half the money on intelligence and keeping abreast of the latest terrorists tactics as we do on third world drug lords, then more plots would be discovered before implementation.

It was just luck that the device did not operate as planned and blow the side of the plane out. This man or a man with the same name is on the U.S. terrorist watch list. If associations were made by security, they were ignored in favor of expediency or in cahoots.

The man smuggled the explosives in two syringes taped to the inside of his legs. Completely undetectable by any metal detector. Is there anybody working at the CIA or the FBI. Central Intelligence and the Bureau of Intelligence aren't getting that much intelligence and are obviously not in the loop on the latest terrorist tactics. The issue of some kind of epoxy never came up in anti-terrorism planning meetings? Obviously a point of failure is the metal detector and this huge hole in the system has not been addressed?

I wonder if any heads will roll from this. TSA, Bush's government takeover of airport security, has not been keeping up with the times and things are getting past them. Hopefully they will see that their assumption that all dangerous items are metal is incorrect and will adjust to modern times.”

That is the problem with the Senate. Too many Senators have been there for two centuries. There is too much fricking tradition and there needs to be an airing out of the stale chambers of Congress. There needs to be some term limits on these lifers. We need term limits in each branch of this government, including the Supreme Court, but especially in Congress.

Who Dodd should be chastising for breaking with tradition is Liebermann. The filibuster play he was threatening was completely unprecedented and against tradition. Never has a caucus member threatened to vote to filibuster his own Party's Bill.”

That concept always escapes you people who want to bash Obama. You are free to call him every name in the book, but if somebody calls you out then somehow they loose their freedom of speech and it becomes about your rights.”

As time goes by the most conservative Republicans will emerge as the leaders of the Party. The radical anti-government, pro-business arm of the Party will be the one that survives. Moderate Republicans are out.

But it doesn't matter one way or another because this is no longer a democracy. You vote for whomever you want but the corporate oligarchs are the ones who rule. You either get on board with them or you perish.”
