Refusing a public option, single payer or Medicare buy-in is just plain stupid.

Refusing a government approved private insurance program that sells you and your family out to a system that has a 100% profit motive is smart.

The president of my school was a surgeon and the biomedicine department's classes are ALL taught by MD's as is much of the Oriental Med dept (MD's from China).

Allopathic medicine is now becoming a very strong component in my field. Please stop making sweeping judgments and pitting these fields against each other.”

I understand that you don't like the crass and callous comments out there. I find them extremely offensive and disgusting myself. But I am a carnivore, I eat meat....Yet, I do not post these kind of remarks.

It would help if you were a little less polarizing in your statements. It does not serve your cause to denigrate other people's choices. We need to inspire compassion in people so that those who do go on to eat meat will at least adopt a conscious attitude and start going down to the farmer's market for their purchases at least.

As for who died for me today, I DO think about it. I AM grateful to ever chicken, cow, pig, etc.... that died so that I could be sustained. So please, try to consider some of the nuances here and stop demonizing the entire population of people who eat meat as "callous carnivores." It really does not serve your cause.”

I eat eggs. I eat PASTURE raised fresh farm eggs. Yeah, they cost $7 p/dozen. I have kept and raised my own chickens...I never ground up baby chicks. I live in an urban setting now and can't have chickens so thats why I spend the big bucks.

The reason I say your argument is not salient is b/c. Eating meat/eggs does not always EQUATE to a support of these practices. I buy my meat from local Farmers. I pick and choose carefully. You are right that w/o demand supply would diminish. But can we take it a step further? Why not we just get more specific about our demand? Like refusing to get our meat from factory farms...and if you can't get the meat from a local ethical purveyor...well, its time to just go veg for dinner that night.”

However, there are so many creatures on earth who have to eat meat to survive...nature's predators like Tigers, Lions, etc..etc...

Some of us actually are Conscious Consumers, we buy our meat from the Farmer's market and refuse anything from factory farms.

I really really really want to boycott my health insurance company. But if I do that I don't have any health insurance. What do I do then? You have no idea how bad I want to call them up and cancel my policy (I pay out of my own pocket $300 p/mo).

Its a catch-22, a terrible situation...I feel trapped. Any ideas?”
