Tiger Woods Is So, So, So Much Bigger Than Golf

“It's not Tiger's job to tell us anything, therefore he can't "deceive" any of us.
If anything his fans deceived themselves by worshiping a caricature that they created in their own heads.
It's sad that grown men and women actually think it's normal to worship another human being.”

“Well said, anybody who is in any way affected by Tiger's transgressions should consider stepping back and revisiting their (pathetic) belief that they somehow personally know celebrities. This author is no better than the 7 year old who cried when Paris Hilton went to jail for drunk driving (or whatever it was?). Watch golf, enjoy golf, get a life.”

Not mine, and not your's.
There is definitely much more going on than reported, and our inquiring minds DON'T have a right to know.”

“Woo, you sound angry for some reason.
Almost like Tiger did something to you personally.
Did anyone ever consider the obvious, it was an open marriage until the media found out about mistress #1.
Think about it, we don't really know what the original argument was about.
Maybe the media had found out and that is what set his wife off.
She might have been turning a blind eye as long as he didn't make her look like a fool.
My reason for believing this is because there were too many for no one to not tell her, or for her not to sense.
She would really have to have an IQ of 70 not to know he was intimate with someone else(s).
She liked her life, and luxuries he provided, and -Who knows- maybe she even had something of her own going on (it's not only possible it's fair play).
In any case, he didn't do anything to any of us, so.....”

He'll survive -- he's a billionaire, the best golf player ever. He can do, and have, whatever/whomever he wants. Except for Elin and the children, i suppose. There'll be 100,000 more women lined up hoping for a shot at being the next Mrs Woods.”

“Are you even serious? People see and believe what they want to see and believe. Maybe she had a sense that something was up throughout their marriage, and she confronted him, and he told her a bunch of lies, and she believed him, bc she wanted to believe him...beca use she wanted her marriage to work for her and their kids' sake, and she didn't want to face the truth or wasn't ready to face the truth...wa sn't ready to make the hard decision to stay or go. But obviously with recent revelations, there is no nice little story she can believe that he can tell. It's too obvious that what is said to have transpired actually did. And she stayed bc she liked the luxuries? She's definitely going to keep those luxuries, even if divorced. And this idea that "he didn't do anything to any of us"...what 's your point? I choose not to support or make wealthy individuals of weak moral fiber. This sends the message that people can treat other people anyway they want and no one cares as long as it doesn't effect them directly. Think of a racist mayor from a town other than yours. He didn't do anything to you. Using your logic, why don't you send him a donation?”

America's economy is all our government cares about (for better or for worse).
There is nothing we can do to change the end game (it's easily a 60year plan).
Even if we were to change the face of the game, the oil companies long ago bought all the workable patents to alternative energy.
At this point it's either get with the program or leave the country to assuage your own guilt.

I think posibly even a racial component to the self righteous hypocrisy and glee whcih peopl like Limbaugh seem to take delight in.
Personally, I haven't put any person on a pesestal (not since Michael Jordan when I was a kid).
Inevitably they are going to do something human.
And for what it's worth, I'm not buying all these stories from disreputable women. As far as I'm concerned they might have sexed some guy who simply "told" them he was Tiger. Not at all unheard of in the circles within which they move.”

“I find this and other articles like it intellectually dishonest. How can you call yourself an economist (with a presumed knowledge of economics) and still be confused about American intentions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
This rail against disinformation rings hollow because instead of demanding the Government answer the simplest of questions they instead complain that things don't make sense.
I'd spill the beans myself (yet again) but it inevitably will get scrubbed.
Here's a hint: Google "Iraq+petrodollar"”

I enjoyed reading this because I have always been drawn to brainy, artsy intellectuals, who were capable of the kind of cruelty Roth displayed. Some women are either incapable of, or choose not to be with a conventional man in a conventional relationship. Would Claire Bloom have been happier settling down with a 'nice guy'? I doubt it. She and Roth obviously fed off of each other's neurosis and on some level met each other's needs. Bloom clearly put up with Roth because he fascinated and intrigued her. There are some extraordinary women who have a primal need in giving their heart to a 'genius'. The bumpy ride works for them. People are complex, but artists even more so. I don't think Bloom or Roth are fossils at all. Years from now we'll be reading about similar relationships.”

Also, when viewed without pause, Betty makes perfect sense. Brilliant actress, fascinating character, only cold because she doesn't like being played for a fool.
Lastly, the last shot of Sal, calling his wife from a phone booth outside of a very seedy, counter culture park just screams a set up for a vicious bust by the cops. Let's hope he gets out of it.”

“Guys, you are making the assumption that she knew what happened after she went down. Should she credit her fellow officer once she was made aware? Yes, absolutely. The fact that a more accurate account emerges over the ensuing days is not all that unusual. I've noticed frequently that technology enabled reporting often rushes an incomplete set of information to us. Is this evidence of some ominous consipracy? I'm just not seeing ample evidence of that and would hate to cheapen their moment by speculating on such. Clearly, the Sgt. is a hero and deserves credit for ending this, as does Munley for her valor in jumping into the fray to try to end it.”

All about how some reporters would like it-- the story to be. An avid reader of the New York Times, but must admit... its no longer the newspaper of "record." Taking the time to validate 'sources' before one reports on a story is a hallmark in journalism. Lately the Times have joined the tabloids in" yellow" journalism and its awfully disappointing. In my freshman year as a student of journalism I was forced to buy the Times daily, because they were the best as a newspaper. .. now I wonder who are calling the shots there. I only learned of Seargant Todd when I saw the Oprah Winfrey show, and yes, the female cop made no attempt at correcting what she knew was wrong. Taking the credit was fine. Unbelievable!”
