“These are the same types of people who want those on welfare to 'get a job' and what they don't realize is that a lot of servers today are really unemployed professionals just 'getting any job they can' to feed their families.
You can't have it both ways, richies - if you want stuff and service, guess what, you are going to have to deal with people who are 'normal' and not rich like you. Behavior like that will cost you good service AND result in spit or worse in your food.
NEVER mess with the people who handle your food!!”
“Do you have ANY idea what those servers make per hour? Last time I checked it was $3.09 - yes, THREE dollars and NINE CENTS per hour, because tipping is CUSTOMARY. Sure it is not mandatory, but that is the problem - people like this jerk don't realize that. They think their servers make great money because they get hourly and tips, but since they've never worked an honest, physically-demanding hardworking job in their lives, they have no clue.
I think our society would be much more pleasant if everyone was required to work as a server for at least a few months. It is very hard work, and very under-paid, regardless of what people like this jerk think. I love the show 'Undercover Boss' for that reason.”

“In California the State minimum wage is over $7... so they business can't pay less than that... sorry buddy. Try again.
Besides... turns out it was a hoax and someone was out to make this banker look like a horrible person. Now why would anyone want to do that?”
“And the women that recommend it are purely ignorant.
Really?? Because lots of women need it as medication for a variety of medical issues, including me. I've been on the pill for years with no side effects whatsoever, so who are you to judge and assume that it's bad for everyone?”
“NO. You are wrong. Their Tax Exemption status IS something that they RECEIVE from the government because they are supposed to be a 'charity.' If they discriminate, under the existing law, they are not entitled to be tax-exempt. Period. If they want to discriminate, they do have the right. But then they lose their right to a tax exemption.
You can invite whomever you want to your own backyard because you are a citizen, not a company or business or charity, and it is your own private residence, not a business.
“That's great that he engaged them. Now WHERE is his action to HELP them?? He doesn't seem to realize that this anger and frustration is also directed towards HIM. He has been all talk and not enough action.”

“Exactly WHAT do you think can be done with a recalcitrant Congress?
Are you ignorant enough to think the tree branches of government work INDEPENDENTLY of each other?
“Really? Most people don't want to do away with capitalism. They just want America run by the people and for the people like it's supposed to be, not by the corporations/richies and for the coprorations/richies like it is now. The tax code MUST be fixed - the rich are paying hardly anything in taxes relative to what the rest of us are paying, because they are the ones buying our congresspeople and making the laws.
Until we get rid of LOBBYING, which is LEGALIZED BRIBERY, nothing will change.
Why is nobody talking about THAT?”
JasonTromm on Nov 18, 2011 at 15:10:40
“We do have people talking about reforming the tax code. The two that come to my mind immediately are Ron Paul and Herman Cain.”
“why a sad life? because she doesn't want to sit next to wailing babies and babysit strangers' children? I agree - children don't need to be everywhere, especially when the parents think it's okay to bring their double-wide stroller to the Taste of Chicago in 105-degree heat with over a million people there. REALLY?? I'm sure your infant is having a great time sweltering in the heat with a bunch of crazy strangers. get a babysitter!”
“that's the problem, most people these days are not good parents. and I want to know why 9- and 11-year-old children are allowed to fly alone? do the flight attendants get extra pay for babysitting?”
gssamar on Jul 7, 2012 at 03:16:51
“Unaccompanied minors pay an extra charge (I just paid $99 each way for my 9-year-old). The flight attendants generally don't do much with them on the plane besides making sure they are seatbelted when they should be, but help them go through customs and security.”
Sage49 on Jul 7, 2012 at 02:54:42
“Actually, there are additional charges for tickets for unaccompanied children on some airlines. And I think your statement that "most people these days are not good parents" is very jaded.”
“It's people like you who are the problem. Your kids probably run wild - of course they are a handful, but it's YOUR JOB as their PARENT to make sure they sit down and behave. There is a time and a place for certain behavior, and as a parent it is your job to make children understand this - no, they are not allowed to run around & disrupt the other passengers. no, they are not allowed to scream at the tops of their lungs. Period. My parents raised TEN OF US and NO WAY we would ever have behaved in public the way some parents let their kids behave, it's disgusting. And we certainly didn't have cartoons on our flights or in our car!”
“Really? Chicago is not big? Chicago is not International? Why do we have one of the largest INTERNATIONAL airports in the world? Why did we just host the NATO summit? Why are WE the Second City, not LA or San Francisco?”
JoshH2 on Jul 7, 2012 at 03:17:27
“No, Chicago is not international, it is provincial. Most of the "culture" that you find in the "good" neighborhoods is something right out of a Midwestern strip mall.”

“When does any trend ever, EVER come out of chicago? Literally, ever. People there just follow what originates elsewhere in the country where things actually happen (namely, ny la and sf)”
“That was the most sexist bunch of crap I have ever read. I love football just as much as men do. You treated women in this 'article' like the poor little unloved, underappreciated housewife from the 1950s. Shame on you, Phil.”

“smags72, I came to the NFL late. I was in my 60s when I started watching. I am 68 and single. I love the games. I've watched college ball for years (basketball and football) and now follow the players through to the pros.
“B.S. The taxes from the rich would help the debt and help pay for services we all desperately need, like police, fire, better education and fixing our crumbling bridges. You people who think that all government spending is bad forget about things like that. Instead they give tax breaks to companies who move jobs overseas instead of taxing the hell out of them for doing it. Making them stop spending our money on THAT would help an awful lot! It's disgusting that GE and other corporations paid NO taxes last year.”
“Yes, they are arresting people and not letting them camp out in Grant Park, which is owned by WE THE PEOPLE and should be allowed - it is way out of the way of downtown traffic and is the best centrally-located, huge park to use. Shame on Rahm for letting the police get away with their scare tactics. What does him being Obama's Chief of Staff in the past have to do with any of this?”
