What are the specific subsidy levels for middle/lower income people?
How much will insurance companies charge someone who has had cancer?
Will the gov make the insurance companies spend that 80% within a specified time frame or will they be able to roll over that money to a later time frame?
Also, remember that federal regulators are much weaker than most state regulators.”

It will MANDATE that they get insurance. Most uninsured will still not be able to afford insurance and will just be charged the madate penalty.
Amd that 80% restriction is a joke. They'll just stuff the money into a "medical only" account while still denying claims. Then they'll just wait until rebubs get in control again and they can spend the money however they want.”

“By the time the law goes into effect in 2013, Repubs will be in control and all those empty promises will go nowhere.

“The subsidies for lower income people will bring it within reach for many. We have the mandate system here in Massachusetts and as a result 97% of our citizens are now covered. Yes there are problems, but the Senate bill is better. The medical loss floor has worked in Minnesota, so it's wrong to thing it cannot be implemented elsewhere. Things look different when you're the one having to make decisions from choices you don't like. If we save half the lives that are currently lost from lack of access to medical care, it will be well worth it.

What's going to happen is that millions of people are NOT going to get health insurance but are going to be charged the mandate penalty. That does not sound like reform to me.”

“This article is a bunch of hyperbole that doesn't discuss specifics. The version that people are talking about killing would mandate that people would have to buy insurance. Sure, people cannot be rejected for pre-existing conditions but there is no cost control!!
