“I have, I must admit, taken some pleasure in watching the right-wing in this country implode over the past few years. I predicted to my friends on the right and left in 2006 that the Repubs would lose the majority in the House and Senate. I supported Obama in this election and predicted that the Repubs would lose even more seats in the House and Senate as they continue to use the shovel of deceit to dig their hole deeper and deeper. The majority of people in this country are getting fed up with "conservatives" and right wing whack jobs like Limbaugh and Hannity who have perpetrated so much damage to our economy, our military, and our society as a whole. I feel very confident in predicting that they will continue to lose seats in the House and the Senate as they keep digging their hole deeper and continue with their propaganda and lies meant to turn the average American against his own best interests. ..their mask is off, their guise is exposed, and they are going to relegate themselves to the sidelines for a long time to come.”

“I sure hope you are right. However, I see the right also doing everything they can to rewrite history, to deflect blame for the economy on the very people who are trying to correct their mistakes, to take credit for policies of the past that they opposed, etc. And what's worse is that this seems to be working for those in the electorate who have been staunchly supporting Republicans for these last 30 or so years, especially for those who could be most charitably described as 'low information' voters. The denizens of the right wing think tanks know their audiences well. They are creating a fantasy past, both distant and recent, that allows the millions of middle and working class supporters of the Bush administration's most self-damaging economic, social and military policies, to not feel quite so stupid about their own bad judgement. This is where we get statements like 'the failure of banks was due to TOO MUCH regulation, rather than the other way around'.
If you have repeatedly voted for politicians who have scr.ewed you over, and you have little or no knowledge or understanding of what is going on in the world at large, what do you want to hear? I told you so, or you were right all along and now we're in the 'Obama recession'.”

I always noticed whenever I was out of the U.S., we would get CNN International on TV, and the world view it presented was always quite a contrast to what we see on CNN in the good ol' USofA. It is truly frightening, when I think of the impression I had of Chavez based on what I had seen and read on U.S media, that I could be swayed by something like that. “I'm sorry, I quit watching Fox News back when Bush decided to invade Iraq. That was the same time I quit being a Republican. So, I don't know who this Megan woman is, but after watching the video of her trying to hammer Mr. Burton, it makes me wonder how anyone but a dyed-in-the-wool extreme right wing wacko can believe Fox News is "fair and balanced". Fox News has become nothing more than a sad joke to most of the people I know (mostly moderate Republicans) and they are, in a way, rather embarrassed by Fox News. Yes, folks, Fox News makes it embarrassing to be a Republican. Almost as much as John McCain makes it embarrassing to be a Republican. I switched to "Unaffiliated". I will be voting for the candidate who is level-headed, intelligent, and has the ability to inspire in Americans the confidence it will require to guide us out of this mess that Bush and Republicans have laid on us. I will, of course, be voting for Barack Obama.”

They don't give a damn about the average American. They busted the unions. They kowtow to religious extemists, while their real god is actually the almighty dollar. They have become a party riddles with greed and corruption. They have trampled the United States Constitution, which Bush once said "is just a piece of paper". They put their party and their party's interests high above the interests of this nation. They have done damage to our country that is going to take a long time to repair, if it is reparable at all. Never again will I vote Republican. And I have zero interest in seeing them recover from this debacle. Let instead two or more competing parties rise that represent more granular groups - this two party system really has not worked very well in a very long time other than to keep one of the two in power and stifle real change. Nice Point Hillary, Now We'll Just Wait for McCain to Make It

“There are some supporters of Hillary who truly wish to sabotage Obama's campaign. To them, all I can say is that they should consider the ramifications of a McCain presidency: 1) He has always been very "pro-life" and he has said many times that if elected he will appoint Supreme Court justices cut of the same cloth as Alito, Scalia and Thomas which is tantamount to overturning Roe v. Wade; 2) He wants to bomb Iran; 3) He has repeatedly rattled sabres against Russia and would see us confront Russia rather than work for peaceful solutions; 4) He has stated repeatedly that the Bush economy is basically a good economy; 5) He wishes to make the Bush tax cuts (for the mega-rich) permanent; 6) He has said many times that setting a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq is the same as "surrendering" and that it would mean we have lost to the terrorists; 7) He is against universal health care (one of Hillary's main issues). I could go on, but suffice it to say that Hillary supporters would do well to understand that we must elect Obama to prevent McCain from getting into the White House.”

“If you are a Democrat and you would vote for McCain instead of Obama based solely on the fact that you are emotionally upset because Hillary is not the Democratic nominee, then you are making a big mistake. Nevertheless, in spite of people like you, Obama is going to win this. There are too many of us out here who know how incredibly important this election is and realize that four more years of a Republican presidency would do great harm to our country. You need to figure out that you are an American before you are a Hillary supporter. To put her above your country is insane. If you vote for McCain, you will be on the losing side in this battle for our country's future. There will be no blame put on Hillary or Bill or you simply because Obama will not lose this election. The Republicans are going to be in for the shock of their lives in November when this country makes them pay dearly for the many destructive Bush policies that the Republicans, in lockstep, blindly supported and still do support. There will be a reckoning. And Obama will win in a landslide that will astound and amaze you and the media and more than anyone, the Republican Party. It's gonn be fun.”

“I agree with you, Mr. Feldman, and you've written a fine article. James Dobson is considered by most people here in Colorado to be a joke. I find it most interesting that the media railed on and on about Rev. Jeremiah Wright, yet when it comes to Dr. Dobson the media is most accommodating and actually seems to elevate him to the status of "normal" rather than expose him as the radical that he is. Dr. Dobson is basically a three issue radical: abortion, gay marriage, and stem cell research. You can be the Devil incarnate, and if you support Dobson on these three issues you will have his undying endorsement and vote. He, like most radicals, has forgotten the big picture. He has elliptical awareness rather than spherical awareness. Moreover, it appears that the media has little or no "beware-ness".”
Extremists Pressure Catholic Bishops to Use Communion as Political Weapon

“They pulled this crap in 2004. Our archbishop sent out a letter saying that to vote for a pro-choice candidate was a sin. This upset me because I was against the Iraq war from the start, and so was Pope John Paul II, yet Catholics were voting for Bush who was, in my mind, the man who lied to provoke us into invading a soveriegn nation that was no imminent threat to the USA...this made Bush a war criminal as far as I was concerned. So I get this letter from the archbishop telling me I should vote for this war criminal with the blood of thousands on his hands instead of John Kerry simply because John Kerry was pro-choice! I have not been to church since then, and you know what? I don't miss it at all. Upon reflection, it is religion, after all, that exists at the heart of these wars and many of the wars in the past. Religious fundamentalism, be it Islamic or Christian or Jewish or Hindu, is destructive, causes and promotes wars, and has become a plague on mankind.”
McAuliffe: Obama Has A Hispanic Problem

“Why Latinos and white middle class southerners persist on voting against their own best interests is truly baffling. One would think they would welcome real change. By voting for McCain or Clinton, they are ensuring slight change if any change at all. By voting for Obama, they would ensure the real kinds of changes that they so desperately seek. They seem unable to comprehend this fact. Hopefully they will realize, before it is too late, that voting for Obama, not McCain, will be in their own best interests. I know that Clinton supporters disagree, and that is part of the reason why Republicans so enthusiastically hoped that Hillary would be the nominee of the Democratic Party. They know they can beat her and that if she were ever elected president it would be a great boon for their party, ensuring them another decade or more, just as happened with Bill Clinton's presidency. His terms in office enabled the Republicans to take over pretty much from 1994 until now. Obama will change all that. He will reinvigorate, strengthen, and grow the Democratic power structure, enabling fundamental change in our government.”

This sentence completely ignores the argument that many non-Obama Democrats having been making and have been taking heat for bringing up: For all his speeches, platitiudes, hope, inspiration and promises of change, Barack Obama has no history of experience to call upon to point out actual examples of his leadership, and he offers no plans now for what he will do in the future. All we're offered is vague messages that help is on the way and yes we can and all this. It appears to be nonsense, without anything to back it up.
His position on Hispanics has been the same as his position on rural voters: they don't like me, so I'll count on everyone that likes me voting more than they do, that way I can ignore them during my campaigning.”

“Yeah, right. And when she repeatedly said she was under sniper fire, she had absolutely no idea what she was saying. Hillary Clinton knows damn well what she is saying when she says it. She is an intelligent, albeit calculating politician. She made the assassination comments more than once, just like she made the sniper fire comments more than once and each time she knew exactly what she was saying. Furthermore, when she said her husband did not have the nomination wrapped up until June, she was quite aware that she was lying. He had the nomination wrapped up two months prior to June...I remember that clearly. She knows what she is saying when she is saying these things and her supporters want to deny that she knows what she is saying. Well, why do you want to support someone who has run such a mismanaged campaign and does not know what she is saying when she is saying it? What kind of a president would that be? Oh...I know. The Bush kind of president. I think we have had enough of that.”

Now that Obama is the clear frontrunner, they are trying everything they can to overturn the will of the majority of Democrats. Ain't gonna happen, AjicNYC. Obama is going to be the nominee.
