“With the present business models for cheaper labor, greed and the dis-taste for unions, this country has stepped back into time. Not a good place to be if business does not change its atitude. It may be time to boycot just about everything and run these businesses to the ground until the thought process changes! Then of course we have so many people who dont want anyone to make a living wage and prefer to see the entire country falter. Lack of education or just plain dumbed down society?”

Cheaper labor is what drives production. Have you ever owned a business then over-pay employees constantly to appease them without any sort of incentive based system? That wouldn't be a lasting business model, more then likely it would be mothballed immediately. Unions have nothing to offer for a higher living standard unless you plan on spending your life there. Start a business or specialize in something, don't try to use a mob to control wages, you will always lose. Also what is the deal with pretending like everyone needs to be paid well yet some you constantly piss and moan about CEOs getting bonuses ? Were you crying when unions basically controlled the automobile sector including production of the suvs that are destroying the earth. (Ford, and GM basically had to bend over backwards to get rid of the workers to stay afloat)”

State Unemployment Commissioners Implore Congress To Reauthorize Benefits Extensions
Commented Dec 07, 2009 at 21:36:00 in Politics
“Unemployment checks go directly back into the economy via bill paying, food and gas. Sending millions more into home loss, (whether you rent or own) will not help anyone! The President and Congress had better realize, these are real people~~~~ ~Americans ! This country has a war plan but no job plan. Whats wrong with this picture??? ??????????”
Patriot86 replied on Dec 07, 2009 at 23:13:34
“Congress better get on the stick...th ey found the money to bail out banks and allowed bonuses on our dime. Now Americans who were the victims of these bankers are going to be tossed aside. It is not right. I do not understand how Congress could do this...as for pres. Obama, he should be lobbying Congress right now to extent unemployment.”

“I am impressed by the two radically different treatment: one is, right a totally blank and giant check to the banks; the other is as far as the unemployed, dispense unemployment insurance with an eye dropper, 14 weeks here, 6 weeks here, with a lot of buts and if, opt-ins and opt-outs for the states. I do not know what to expect as far as will I get an extension. I do know UI is invaluable, it is my lifeline, hanging by a thread and Congress playing games. Worked all my life, will do so again at first opportunity, but nobody is hiring in my area.
Also, the UI phone lines constantly remind about UI fraud, criss-cross checking, etc. No mention of banking fraud, and who criss-cross checked the banks.”

“As the UI ends, imagine the homeless, less commerse locally all over, more empty rentals and homes, less children in stable situations, less taxes collected.
This just isnt about accountability as some state, this is about communities, lives and familes. We did not create this loss yet we are to lose everything we ever worked for? WHY?
This country has no jobs program. Why is this my fault? With out this life line, many cannot afford food much less survival. You who think we do not deserve this, think twise as you sit in your secure little corner somewhere.”

Your business would fail for you are already too lazy to go get what is almost free money.
And why do you not just start a business on your own, no help from the government - that would be called freedom.”

“Most of them keep whining Americans (except for their own selves) are "overpaid". (in which case our economy will never recover, not to mention wages have been dropping for the last 40 years -- when adjusted for inflation and the cost of living, they have been going down. That is incontrovertible; the numbers do not lie. Now add in how often our tax money bails these guys out and wince. Life, liberty, and the redistribution of taxes to those who blame everyone else for being irresponsible. (NO PAWN IS IRRESPONSIBLE. The chess player is. ))”
