Afghan Escalation Would Make One-Year Pentagon Budget Almost As Big as Entire 10-Year Health Bill

“Funny how articles like this never hit MSM. It is no wonder we are mis informed or underinformed by media. They tell us only what they want us to read or know. Please keep up the good work David. We need your voice out there. What an interesting comparison military vs healthcare? Hmmm...wonder what will come of that. The battle of the corporate giants!
You go, David...keep telling it like it is.”

“Well said. Now, what's the solution? Where do we go from here? I'm beginning to think isolationism might be the route to do. I'm tired of seeing our young men and women dying for other country's and corporations's evil intents. If corporations want to go to war, let them go their their own boards and CEO's, etc. No more war with our young men and women. Let's keep them home to protect us here. I'm not sure we've learned anything in the last 50 years since WWII. We ARE NOT the bully. Why are we dying for others' evil intentions and doctrines?”

“We have to make it clear life is better than death and that starts at the top. If you don't teach children that the greatest thing in life for them to do is kill Americans, then they won't become suicide bombers. If you don't preach from the pulpit that people will go to heaven if they become martyrs, people probably won't become martyrs. It's a cultural thing, and culture only changes from within. Encourage the people who love life and fight the people who love death.”
House Health Care Bill: A Death Sentence For My Fellow Breast Cancer Survivors
Commented Oct 29, 2009 at 16:02:36 in Politics
“As a cancer survivor, we need to get corporations out of our government. Talk about death panels...they are one of the the biggest. Yes, I'm angry. I want health care for everyone, affordable and reasonable, we aren't going to get it as long as we have corporations running our nation from the top down.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Has anyone read the entire bill? Do our congress people have any idea what they are doing? If not, should they even be there?
I think it is time for all incumbents to be voted out. We need to start with a clean slate, people who have worked with and for people and reaalize that we cannot afford to be corporate America.
I have been so disappointed in this whole health care thing that I'm thinking about dropping out of supporting our government at all. We have had a great country but maybe it's time "we the People" take it back from the corporation crooks and thieves in high places.”

All I can really do is teach my young sons when they are ready for "the talk" that it is never okay to badger, or manipulate, or ply with alcohol or drugs, or intimidate an age-appropriate girl until she sadly gives up resisting and reluctantly acquiesces to sex. I'll tell them to really LISTEN to her, not dismiss polite or mild protests because their guy friends may rib them and tell them, "Girls always resist at first." My boys will be taught that it's never okay to push for sex with a girl who is not clearly communicating that she is 100% ready and enthusiastic to have mutually pleasurable and consensual sex which should never leave someone hurt, physically or emotionally.
I, mean, after all, how satisfying would badgered or coerced sex like that be anyway...

Perhaps this exchange program will bring enough unrelated people together into a single pool, but that will eventually (cross fingers, hopefully) bring the per-plan price down. The plan won't start cheap because maybe in 5 years, a large number of people will have it and pay into it. That's why most insurance co-ops fail, which is almost what this exchange sounds like.”
