“On the one side you have people who advocate that gay people are born gay. And on the other you have people who say gay people suffer from aberrations and must be fixed.

No one really knows much about sexuality, but it seems everyone wants to adamantly cling to simple answers about it.

BTW, I believe everyone of courses is owed equal rights regardless of what informs their sexual orientation. I hope that flame-proofs me. I am queer myself but my sexuality is very complex, and I would not be intellectually honest to use an aphorism like "I was born that way."

It's so complex. Kinsey started the research; what's happened since then?”

“The Muppet Christmas Carol is wonderful. Our family watches it together every year (on VHS, no blu-ray release, and apparently the DVD cut out a scene of the original). However, I wouldn't call it a comedy. The best part of it is the song from the ghost of Christmas present.

Also, I do recall liking Mixed Nuts. I think I liked Ernest Saves Christmas as a kid, but I can't remember it well now. I do remember vividly loving Ernest Goes to Camp. Any movie where Ernest dresses up as a woman is gold!

And of course no Christmas movie list is complete without the only movie I've ever gone to a movie theatre twice to see, my all time favorite movie from 2nd grade--Home Alone.”

“I looked up that song, and listened to it, and I had not heard it before, maybe because I don't listen to radio.

In this instance I knew exactly what I was talking about. I said, "I'm not sure if it's Flo Rida's only hit, but it's the only one I've heard." That was 100% true. I didn't know if it was his only hit and it was the only one I've heard.

Besides, one person's one hit wonder is another person's favorite band. I used to hear a lot of people call The Cardigans a one-hit wonder after their song Love Fool. And to some people who haven't heard any other music from them, I guess that's true. However, I am a great fan of their albums which followed that song.

I thank you for the education on Flo Rida.”

I have to admit that was pretty inspired, off the cuff. IMO, it was GWB's one hit wonder of the decade.

“I had to stop watching when he said "Diwali--what's Diwali?" You do not deserve to be on the news of your understanding of the world is that limited. He almost sounded proud that he didn't know about Diwali.

I doubt they understand Christmas very well either. They probably think Jesus was born in the camping section of a WalMart some 2,000 years ago and that's why we return there to buy gifts every year.

If you really want to suppose there is a war on Christmas then why not go all the way back to the real historical accounts of Jesus having been born in the Spring. Wouldn't celebrating at the wrong season count as an act of war on the holiday to these people? Rather to them, it's that the person at Target didn't look at them with Christmas cheer or said Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas that gets their goat.

You are the majority! Enjoy it. You are not under attack just because some public elementary school doesn't celebrate Christmas the way you do in your churches and homes!”

“Tiger's actions are wreaking havoc on our young people. How much more of Tiger can our children take?

I don't want my children learning about cocktail waitresses, indiscrete sexual affairs, intermarital golf club beatings, midnight driveway car crashes, and threeways with Derek Jeter from someone else. That information should come from me, the parent. At three and four years old my kids aren't ready to learn about all that just yet. Some call me old fashioned, but I want to wait till I am 5 to teach them those things. Tiger better stop his ways or I am gonna have to turn off the TV when TMZ comes on.”

What Tiger does in his private life is his business and if people would leave it at that, it wouldn't be all over the place like it is. That's not his fault what your children may hear. How would you like people to tell you that you should not have children or something? That's your private business don't you think? Nobody's private business should be televised like it's "breaking news" that the world needs to know to save their lives or something. Your media is who you should be referring to, not Tiger!”

“As a gay person even I can understand why this guy is upset. It's not the same as saying his eyes are blue when they are brown. So get over that. Whether we like it or not being accused of being gay can affect an actor's ability to get roles and it's not fair to his wife and family. This can affect his ability to support his family financially. Someday none of this will matter and we'll all be equal. But that time has not come. I hope he wins his lawsuit.”

It therefore behooves him, despite what his personal opinion of homosexuality is (and I have no idea what he thinks about anything), to keep absolute control over things like this.”

“I reached the word limit. Basically, I wanted to add that the psychiatrists I have seen say there is no reason to want to go off the medications, the alternatives I look into, they are not at all familiar with and they have no intellectual curiosity about them, and they will even suggest increasing my levels of medication, even though I am stable right now. The main problems I have right now are from the medications themselves. Sorry to take up a double post.”

“Thanks. It sounds like you know me rather well. I've seen so many psychiatrists and have done so much research on my own for alternative treatments to help me withdraw from the drugs, alternatives like l theanine, inositol, taking lyrica or gabapentin or a cross taper over to valium (longer acting so easier to withdraw from).

But I live in an area of the country where every psychiatrist I have seen is a foreign medical school graduate, and I don't mean to sound xenophobic, but I can only guess that because it's a poorer part of the country, they are reimbursed by insurance less, and the less qualified psychiatrists are the ones who end up working here. I'm lucky if I can find one who spends a few minutes talking to me and I can understand them. I mean this sincerely: they do not have a grasp of the drugs I take as well as I do. They aren't aware of the basic dangers of these drugs, like me going off benzodiazepines suddenly would result in seizures. There's a disconnect between them and the reality of these drugs so large that it is like a twilight zone to me. I cannot understand how this is their specialty when it seems to be what they are so inept at in particular.

I'm afraid to try supplements on my own without a doctor who knows how to help me get off the drugs using supplements. But I have not found that doctor.”

“I gained 40 lbs over a few months on Zyprexa. I now take Seroquel instead at night which is a little better. I take it at night and it is a *huge* struggle for me not to binge eat a half hour after I take it. Since being on it I have irregular liver enzyme test results, and my blood sugar is constantly in the pre-diabetic range. I eat very healthfully in the daytime, but there is an instant trigger after taking the pills at night to eat ravenously. I try to fill up on water and am trying to lose weight right now, but it is definitely an extra challenge on psychiatric meds. My psychiatrist has never asked for me to have my liver enzymes, blood sugar, and eyes checked for cataracts (all of which you should do when on Seroquel). I have to request these myself from my PCP who writes the scripts for the tests. Sadly, Seroquel is not my largest concern. I was only 14 when a psychiatrist put me on Ativan daily, indefinitely. If you know anything about benzodiazepines, you know they are the most insidiously physically addicting drugs. I take only a prescribed supposed therapeutic amount, but have been unable to withdraw from it. Google benzodiazepine withdrawal. It can actually result in death.”

Life is too short. It is time for you to get off those drugs. NOW -- with help.

Find a medical advocate who will help you get off these dangerous drugs in the proper way (cold turkey or gradually), find you proper nutritional counselling, and help you to find your passions to replace your dependency on psychotropic drugs.

It's time to swing on those birches again.”

it didn't spring up around him, there have been endorsement deals like the ones he has for quite a long time, granted his are particularly large, like michael jordan's

golfing was very lucrative before he was in the sport and it is lucrative precisely because of the fact that people pay to watch it (either in person or through watching commercials) and buy products the golfers endorse

he could be the best golfer in the world and have no one know his name if he wanted to--but that is obviously not what he wanted, he wanted to be known as the best, he's upset now that he can't hide that he's an a**hole like most country club golfers”

“the only problem is that this is what the view consists of......it is a bit random of whoopi to suddenly get upset over it...maybe she dislikes the show in general and it came to a head, i could understand that..they do talk about a lot of trivial things (sometimes not)

the thing about him saying he wants privacy is ridiculous to me...he is a billionaire, he became a billionaire by selling himself as a product, if golf tournaments didn't have audiences of millions of people that would be one thing..but they do have millions in the audience at home, which is why the prize money is so big, which is why the endorsements are even bigger--he sells himself, which is fine, but you can't then say don't look at me i've become a tainted product, turn away! because the rest of the time he's coming on your tv saying look at me i am cool and calm and collected so buy this shaving cream i'm using, etc”
