“If you read the whole article, the author makes reference to a procedure that would cost millions and save a live for a week. What if it would save the life for a month? A year?

The REAL lie here is that present insurance companies would not approve that sort of procedure. SO, to assume that a death panel does not exist now is a fallacy.

Let us REALLY talk about what is happening, please.”

“Seriously? Texans that love Texas are white, straight, and preferably blonde.
I lived there from the ages of 8-17. I was on a plane out of there 3 days after high school graduation. The ignorance, arrogance, and violence towards those that did not "fit the mold" was appalling. I never was able to figure out why Texans were/are so incredibly boastful.”

“YES!!! I loved living in South Florida! I CHOSE to live without air conditioning and enjoyed the storms of wind and rain. Birds, foxes, fish, gators, hog, frogs, turtles...I loved it.
Developers raped Florida, took their money and left. I can not BEGIN to discuss all the changes. And it all happened quite fast!

I live in Maine now. It may not be as warm outside, but the people and the life are closer to the earth.

Why do people move to paradise and refuse to live in it?

I went from living in paradise to living in an overpopulated area in less than 2 years. Sad.”

“I have had to wait greater than three weeks for a doctor here in the US.

I have insurance. I potentially had cervical cancer. I waited a month for my first visit. Of course the primary saw me quickly, gave me a hard time to get to a specialist, and then had to wait a month to see the OBGYN. I was then subjected to several doctors and tests over a 6 month period, waiting weeks to a month in between procedures. I now have medical bills that I cannot afford, am listed as a pre-existing condition, and have scar tissue from the procedures that could potentially cause future cancers.

Speak of only what you know, please.”

jemcanada replied on Dec 20, 2009 at 11:15:48

“I'm sorry to hear of your ordeal, but glad to hear that you didn't actually have cervical cancer. Here's my story from Canada of my experience with cervical cancer. I went to the emergency department at the hospital on a Sunday, was sent to a specialist the next day, he had me into Juravinski Cancer Centre (one of the hospitals that Sarah's speech was supposed to support) within a week, had CTscans, X-rays, MRI, and ultrasound for a week and a half, and was receiving chemotherapy, radiation, and internal radiation within 2 1/2 weeks of my visit to the emergency room. I didn't have any out of pocket expenses. There are not the long waits for serious illnesses, such as cancer, despite what people down there are saying as scare tactics. Hope you stay well and have access to health care when needed.”

“My dear my heart bleeds for you, here in Washington State, my daughter had immediate care, delivered a growth the size of a watermelon, broke three surgical instruments, no penetration other than three small wounds, most wonderful hospital I have ever seen, but of course my son had insurance. Wait and see if pre-existing kicks in”

mancoff replied on Dec 19, 2009 at 00:47:07

“my husband had a very rare condition and the mayo clinic was one of the few places in the country that had very experienced doctors who had performed the surgery he needed. We live in silicon valley in Calif with the highest technical capabilities in the U.S. There was no doctor in the Bay Area in northern california who had ever performed the surgery and very few who had even heard of it. Our insurance company told us we would have to have the surgery perfomred by someone who had never done it in our area and if he botched it then perhaps we could go to mayo. Ever had surgery hoping that you lived through the botch up job so you could maybe go to mayo and done right? Damm the Republican Senators who say the government is going to get between you and your doctors when the insurance companies don't even bother to get between you and your doctors, the insurance companies just make the decision for both you and your doctor. Bottom line, we found a visiting doctor who had performed the surgery, who was traveling to a nearby teaching hospital to teach a surgical course. The use of the hospital was covered by our insurance plan so while he was at the hospital and under contract for his work there, he agreed to perform the surgery. It cost about 30% more than mayo would have charged. Go figure”

If he had sang the hell out of that song I think he would have been more forgiven. It was an epic fail.

J.Lo also was as weak a performance as Brittany Spears original comeback. She was limp, ineffective, and lip syncing all the way through.

Lady GAGA may be a strange bird, but she is TALENTED!!! I wouldn't purchase her music, but am impressed every time I hear her alone at her piano. She also practices her dancing routines to perfection...”

“some hospitals turn away folks due to lack of insurance, some cannot. Illegal, papers or not, injured persons are cared for in emergency rooms. This is a HUGE portion of our tax dollars and teh reason health care is so expensive.

What would happen to an illegal at a hospital?

Who pays or this now?”

SageFire replied on Sep 04, 2009 at 11:25:34

“Exactly. Who says his "right" to not have to hear an upset child in a place where children will obviously be is greater than the mom's right to get her shopping done as best she can? He could have come back later, too. I expect if I go to places like WalMart I am going to have to deal with noisy families. Am I annoyed when someone wanders around the store ignoring their small child's distress? Of course! However, this wasn't a five star restaurant and we have no idea what the circumstances were that this mother was dealing with. You can't always take the time to take your upset child outside, sometimes you have to push through because you are on your way to the doctor's and you are out of diapers, or you have another child who will be waiting outside on the street after swimming lessons, or you are on your way to your crappy job and your child threw up on your clothes....we just don't know what others are going through and we can't assume they have the luxury to plan all of their errands around a two year old's behavior cycles.”

This happened in a Kroger store and the guy went on his way and nothing more came of it.I wondered for a while, what kind of a home life this poor little thing had and weather or not I should have called the police.”
