“When do we start taking away their tax exempt status for being a political body? How many times does the church have to interfere in politics and push a political agenda and advocate for a political position before we finally realize they have abused their tax exempt status. If my little 501c3 non profit company got involved in political discourse to the extent that the Catholic Church has, I'd have my tax exempt status revoked so fast I wouldn't know what hit me. They have the right to free speech, but they do not have the right to political speech at public expense.”

Lieberman: 'I Don't Think Anybody Thinks This Bill Will Pass'

Commented Nov 22, 2009 at 20:40:32 in Politics

“I don't think Lieberman or any of the Senators understand the rage that will be coming at them from the 70% of the US population that wants some real health care reform. We are tired of the insurance companies stealing our money and playing craps with our lives. If these legislators hand the insurance companies a bill that allows them to abuse us even more than they already do or they pass a bill that does nothing they will pay for it with their jobs.”

Exxon Lawyer: Palin's Account Of Valdez Case 'Cockamamie Bulls**t'

Commented Nov 22, 2009 at 07:10:19 in Politics

“The problem is that Sarah is only interested in telling her version of the "truth" and her supporters don't care what she says. They aren't interested in facts or reality, they are interested in having someone like Sarah stand up and justify their narrow minded bigotry and ignorant hatred of the "other".”

mydwyf replied on Nov 22, 2009 at 13:02:21

“The smear machine has had its turn. She's entitled to tell her side.

Rogan replied on Nov 22, 2009 at 07:39:23

“Aw, you're going too easy on them. Her supporters are people who lie constantly, so constantly that they live practically nothing but lies, their lives so riddled with the dishonesty of themselves, and others, that they really hardly know what "truth" means, anymore. That's why such people are so afraid of voices and influences out of the comfort zone of their own social loop - virtually everything these people say and do, is about confirming one another's lies as "consensual reality" and comforting one another in the face of their own all-encompassing mendacity.

They actively WANT a leader who tells a whopping pack of lies, between the covers of a book, trying desperately to re-write reality itself, in the process. Trust me, if Sarah Palin's followers could each of them afford to lay out the cash for a ghost writer to coddle together their personal alternate account of their own life with themselves as untarnished hero at the center, then force that on the public along with a rash of softball interviews to support it, trust me, they'd do it, every one of them would write such an awful useless book themselves.”

“Sad. Sen. McCain was an honorable man at one time, then he sowed the seeds of his own downfall with the petty choice of an unqualified, political neophyte. That was a costly move John, you took yourself and the Republican party down in one swing.”

1differentdrummer replied on Nov 22, 2009 at 15:42:55

Those AZ Rs are reactionaries, they don't do maverick. To get elected from there you need to be on the crazy fringe. For a working person to vote for John is foolish. When you're in AZ drive by the McCain Scottsdale digs and see how the tiny, thin upper crust live there, then try to imagine those people relating to someone who works.”

Unless the entire Bush administration was utter boobs, there is little chance that they "self confessed" master mind of 911 will somehow go free. I will make the same prediction, KSM will be convicted and he will be executed and we will all rejoice at his death.”

“Government does not now nor has it ever paid for abortion. This is not about keeping the Government from paying for abortion, this is about an amendment that will make it impossible for insurance companies to provide ancillary policies for women who need abortions due to medical issues.”

JeffyBoy replied on Nov 20, 2009 at 08:22:30

“The Gov. most certainlly does pay for abortion. Ever heard of a group called planed paranthood. It is Gov. funded.”

ldmason45 replied on Nov 19, 2009 at 17:55:13

“I thought both the house and the senate bills allowed coverage for abortions in case of danger to the mom and baby's health, incest and rape. I'm a woman and a nurse and I don't think I should pay for a woman to have an abortion because a pregnancy or baby would be inconvenient to her. It is also my understanding that the cases of abortions for medical reasons, incest and rape are a very small percentage of the actual abortion cases. If you are old enough to have sex, you are old enough to act responsibly and use birth control. I've seen quite a few patients who used abortion for birth control. I think this is just pro-abortion groups trying to scare women, to believe they will have their right to choose abortion will be taken away. Not So ! But if you "play", you may "pay" yourself.”
