Key Dem: The Public Option Will Be 'Revisited'

“Really Senator, "revisited"? When? The first time this was worked on was during the 30's then it was put off until partial passage in 1965 then nothing till 2009...we gonna wait another 60 years to revisit health care reform? Is your plan to make sure that a generation or two dies off before your grandchildren can "revisit" the idea of not allowing insurance companies to make money off our lives? Nice plan Senator.”

“Reforming the insurance industry does not have to mean a government takeover. Socialist health care leads to rationing, which leads to the same problem we have now. People will have limited access to care not because they aren't covered, they'll be covered by the govt, but because there won't be enough care to go around. That is why so many people come to the US for cancer treatments and other treatments. They decide that it is more costly to be put on a waiting list for chemo than to pay out of pocket in America.
You are simply trading in one villian for another with socialized medicane. I prefer to fight insurance companies, they are easier to defeat than the federal government.”

Democrats Pin 2010 Hopes On Health Care Bill

“Uh, good luck with that winning the liberals thing. When you threw us under the bus to make a deal with the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies you threw our vote away. Your call on that, I guess you had to make the decision to go where the money was and ignore your constituents. 2010 is not that far away, couple months till the election.. .you really think our memories are that bad?”

Obama: Senate 'On The Precipice' Of Passing Health Care Reform

“Not only did I vote for him, I gave the maximum donation possible to his campaign and to the DNC, I had campaign signs in my yard in a republican neighborhood, I drove the elderly to the polls on voting day and I door knocked to get more Obama signs in my region.
I expected the president who said he would stand up to big pharma to actually do it. I expected the president who said he would pass real health care reform to actually do it. I expected the president who said he would get us out of Afghanistan and Iraq to actually do it. I expected the president who said he would hold those in the previous administration who committed crimes accountable to actually do it. I expected the president who said he would shut down Guantanamo to actually do it. I expected the president who said he was for GLBT rights and would rescind DADT to actually do it.
President Obama has done more work pandering to the Rethugs and the blue dogs than he has fulfilling any of his campaign promises. Sadly I was duped by a smart smooth talking politician, but it won't happen again.”

Nation's Largest Union: Change Health Care Bill Or Else

“Unfortunately, big pharma and the health insurance corporations have so corrupted government that any real reform that might hurt their bottom line is not going to happen. Nothing will really get fixed until we have real campaign reform so that huge multinational corporations can not spend hundreds of millions against any politician that stands up against them. They don't have to bribe politicians, they just have to let politicians know who is going to fund their opponents. ..that always gets them what they want.”

“Yeah, the really "big change" that Arnold has made is to totally bankrupt the state of California. Instead of payng their bills they're sending out IOU's. That's quite a feat ! To think that Arnold and his dem led state legislature have put the state of California the furtherest in debt than any other state is quite an accomplishment. That took a lot of time and crazy, ineffective spending and policies. Now they're waiting for the rest of the states to bail them out of their mess. Maybe Arnold should keep any advice to himself.”

“No, it's not all good Mr. President, you sold us down the river. You backed off and were so desperate to get a bi-partisan health reform bill that you allowed yourself to be used and taken advantage of. The bill, as it stands, is a huge windfall for the insurance companies and an enormous loss to the American people. You remember the American people don't you Mr. President? They were they ones you made believe you were actually going to do something serious about health care reform. Instead you rolled up your sleeves and stood idly by while the Repubs played games and the blue dogs scored political points. Hell Bush could have stood by and done nothing of consequence without even batting an eyelash, he did it for 8 years. In the game of politics Mr. President, you got owned, and we got screwed.”

“31 million people aren't going to get health insurance, they are going to get health abuse. They are going to be forced to buy substandard insurance from companies who will still figure out ways to steal their money and provide zero services. The business model for the insurance companies has not changed; sell as many policies as possible, provide as few services as possible.”
