Does Death Exist? New Theory Says 'No'

“I don't think it's a fear of death that leads to the many worlds theory. I think it's the observation that if energy is constant and unchanging, we are as the Buddhists say "one with everything ."
People need to feel that their individuality is not threatened by elimination of the senses. We probably are not aware of our real place in the universe anyway.
We really don't use much perception when it comes to understanding what is really around us at this point in evolution.”

“Thank you for a great article and I think you have hit on a few crucial topics. Let's not forget that sex is not simply a passing interest for humans. It is an overriding imperative for many people. It is sublimated by most of us in order to be part of our social network.
For many of us, sex is charged with cultural limitations and hurdles while others equate it with the actions of a handshake (O.K., maybe a hug). It doesn't matter who is right or wrong, we should accept that it is complicated.”

“Thank you. I agree that navigating sensuality and sexulity can be complicated on it own, then add a vow of "forsaking all others" and extra marital sex it can become really complicated and downright messy. I wonder why someone takes that marriage vow and then doesn't keep it. All men have the choice to remain single, ala George Clooney, and not make any long-term fidelity promises to the women they are with. Why make the promise and vow and break it in the first place? Why not get divorced before breaking the vow?”

“One of the most positive things about the media is the ability to learn from other people's mistakes and the discussion that comes from the stories. “The Tiger Woods dust up is not a story about marital infidelity alone, it's also about our all too human needs. It's about our ability to fulfill out sexually driven ego. What do people of high achievement want?
This is not about love. It never has been. It's about sex. It's about the overwhelming drive that some men and women have that quite often is sublimated in career and external achievement.
Tiger probably still loves his wife very much but it's not even about romance. It's a deeper need that unfortunately not even his wife can fulfill. The relationship changes as soon as marriage and children enter the picture.
Most married men simply rely on porn the way headache sufferers will take an aspirin. Wealthy men and women with this drive have the resources to take their pleasure to the next level. Most of us poor suckers read romance novels or live vicariously through our single friends.
I agree with the blogger - you are not allowed to inflict your whims and desires on your mate, simply because they signed the document of marriage unity. Can you imagine how disastrous a relationship would be if we went back to the days when women had to submit to their husband's every demands?
We are shocked that Afghan laws are being written allowing men to force themselves on wives if they refuse to have sex. No, unfortunately, it's not about love and romance, it's about sex and ego.”

“And women should not hold a man hostage to a marriage by threatening to make him poor and destitute if he files for divorce.
Women use this tactic to keep men in their control. I know of a guy who was not allowed to see his male friends because his wife threatened to kick him out of the house, take full custody of his 3 children, and make him lose half of his wealth.
Without that marriage certificate, she would never had that power over him.
I know that when his children are over 18 years of age, he will divorce his monster wife.
Right now she has full control.”

It seems that the majority of people feel that they are under-served and have no hope when their financial situation gets worse; which coincidentally seem to occur under conservative administrations.
This is less about abortion and more about lack of hope and faith in a bright future.”

In other words, much the same as the current Republican party. But more polite, because we're British, our Parliament enforces civility and can censure MPs for lying. So British MPs tend to be chillingly, icily polite. A British MP is someone who can make "have a nice day" sound like a declaration of hostilities.”

The idea of the Hispanic people becoming the dominant group in a few decades is ironic since they were dominant before the Anglos came to town and pushed them back further south. It just goes to show you that what comes around goes around.

“The phenomena I've described are not figments of my imagination, and the gloating aspect over the prospects of heightened reverse discrimination in the future confirms my concerns. None of us is responsible as a group for the wrongs committed by our ancestors - personally I've worked for and stood up for diversity all my life. I've also attempted to live and work in a predominately Mexican immigrant neighborhood in the Southwest, where my vehicle, dignity, and personal safety were in a constant state of peril.
No, the skinheads are the dregs of white society, and many of the Mexicans that come here are equally racist and prone to intolerance toward other groups - including Blacks and Asians.
My point is we all need to respect diversity. Those in the Hispanic community who demand respect for all their people would be well served by giving it to others. Even their terminology is fundamentally based on racism. "Anglo" is used to described whites who may well descend from non-Anglo-Saxon ancestors. "Chino" is used to describe all asians. "La Raza" means "the race", and it is their NAACP. Yet the Mexicans are a nationality, not a race, who historically have ethnically cleansed their own indigenous peoples, and continue to do so today.”

We have never taken an adjustable rate, because you don’t know where it will go (except up). They had no forethought and then complain when their adjustable rate, adjusted. They thought they could pull it off and failed. Now I know someone who isn’t paying their mortgage, waiting for the government to pay it. They said “it is about time I got something”. Nice attitude.”

“This all sound like the room full of philosophers who debated the chicken/egg origin theories. You are all right but the major factor is figuring out how to balance an increase of income to average Americans with stimulating demand for goods and services without using the famous Ronald Reagan credit card principle.
Demand has to be stimulated for small business to even think of spending money on employees. Tax cuts never make up the difference unless Government hires the the small businesses in the first place. We need to begin the process of manufacturing and throwing lots of money at Alt energy. Require existing businesses to retrofit for Green economics and have government cover the cost of the retrofits.
Increase the tax on dividend income to 40% and cut the loopholes with an exemption for reinvestment in small business with a solid definition of what a small business really is. Get the public option done right and allow small business to benefit from the program. That will be a start. It's not perfect but that's my contribution.”

The problem with interstate insurance is the monitoring of companies that must comply to each state's requirements and legal obligations. It would be a bigger mess than it already is. The fact that each company's stated goal is to make a profit for its shareholders means it puts the customer last in priority.
The best option would be to go back to the old model of non-profit insurance companies and hospitals. Each state would be responsible for administering its own system.”
